I am the author of Ruby Lake, and A Wedding in Ruby Lake, and the upcoming (10/13) Stay a While in Ruby Lake. I sincerely hope you enjoy my twist on typical romance books and look forward to seeing your reviews. Thank you for your support.
wow what a sequel! I won't put any spoilers if I can because that would just ruin finding them out for yourself.
The start of this book see's Sydney finally living in Ruby Lake with her Fiance Zeke, Illana back home emailing Alex in secret and Annie trying to make amends for being such a bitch basically.
Illana is adamant that small town living is not for her but why not have some fun with Alex while they can? That's her view on "dating" but his is very different and she's soon to have a wake up call.
Sydney has a wedding to plan, a town to settle into and a hell of alot of drama coming her way from Zeke's jealous ex.
This book is an even blend of Sydney's life progressing and Illana's past, present and future. You really hear the back story of the characters in this installment and empathize with how they've come to be who they are. Some characters do a complete one eighty and some toe curling secrets are revealed making you go "OMG".
Sherrill Willis is becoming the queen of cliffhangers and all Ilana's hair do's are making me want to dye my own!
I really enjoyed this book, so much so that I read it in almost one sitting. Willis's strength lies in her characters - they are intriguing and endearing, so much so that you quickly become invested in their stories. However, for this particular novel, I would have preferred if she either would have focused on Illana and Sydney entirely or would have found a better balance when including Annie's story. Nonetheless, I can't wait to read the third installment;the cliff hanger had me hanging on the edge of my seat!
I just finished reading this book tonight. It was so good I had a hard time putting it down. I am bummed that I have to wait for the 3rd book to come out to see what happens next. I hate having to wait to see what happens next.
Second book from Sherrill Willis and it was awesome !!! You must read Ruby Lake (Volume 1) to get the feel of the character's and what character's they are ! You will absolutely love her books !!
Sherrill Willis frustratingly good at leaving you hanging so once I had finished Ruby Lake, I wanted to keep going. I was glad to have been able to jump right in to The Wedding On Ruby Lake and continue where Ruby Lake left off.
The first book focused mainly on Sydney, this second takes you deeper into the life of Sydney's best friend Illana. Willis is good at juggling the storyline of several characters in one book, but I felt like even though this book was focusing on Illana's story, it was a little rushed and squeezed in around all the craziness in the book. With planning Sydney's wedding, Sydney's health issues and a problem that threatens the character's lives, there wasn't really enough time to focus more on Illana.
Illana was introduced in Ruby Lake as Sydney's best friend. She was often the voice of reason and she helped Sydney get through a lot in the first book. I really liked her and had mentioned to a friend of mine when talking about the book, that I would love to get to know Illana better. Illana starts out A Wedding On Ruby Lake with a big chip on her shoulder and about halway through the book I was ready to strangle her. Just as I was becoming really annoyed by her cranky and sometimes nasty behavior, Sydney stepped in and smacked her back in line. I felt like Illana grew so much in this book and was able to take down some of the walls she had built up after a tragedy and she was able to open herself up to life again.
Like Ruby Lake, this book is filled with drama, surprise and in true Sherrill Willis form, an ending that is so abrupt, it leaves you wanting more!
After reading "Ruby Lake", I had to read this. I finished it in just over 6 hours. I simply couldn't put it down. Again, I felt like I was right there along with Syd, Zeke, Illana, Alex, and the rest of the characters. Such a cliffhanger ending, can't wait for the next one!

The book was pretty good as the second in the series, some editing problems, double words but nothing too serious. I did not like that it is not a stand alone like the first in the series but has a cliffhanger ending.
What a sequel! I loved getting to know Illana and Annie more. I was not expecting a cliffhanger!!! I guess I am on to the third book. I have to know the rest of the story.
