For the 1st section, Local Color, there's an urban foto on the left & the poem on the right. The fotos seems to focus on architecture: smokestacks, a skyscraper, an archway, etc.. Local Color begins (w/o correct spacing):
"1-Preponderant Lumens
this weekend this evening of all others unawares blank register swamped a registration all out of proportion or can
An absent signal were responsible who dared create such who can be doing
Gradient jostle light herd away from the lights con cerned if at that prophecy or promotion to touch up"
The 2nd section, Eidetic Deniers, has collages on the left followed by 2 pages of poem followed by a blank page followed by another collage on the left. All of the collages have a foto of an elevated walkway between 2 bldgs + a few paper objects that might've been found on the streets. These don't seemed "collaged" per se, ie: they just seem like they might've been placed w/o gluing for fotoing or fotocopying. The 1st stanza:
"Protracting quid integument I had for you here in the late claiming in the mail on the tray to be collected of lading accuse for services rendered of wrongs attains float Bring bill god car stand bird head street blind house sky"
I'd call this an early 'language-centered poetry' bk given that it's from 1978. Is there "old school" 'language writing' like there's "old school punk"? Anything written before 1980 or 1985 being "old school" perhaps?
Maybe the 'collages' give a parallel to the word placements. Maybe there's a phrase that's photographics in a field of found objects. I don't really think that's the case but I like trying to come up w/ some theory anyway.
