This is an excellent overview of the distribution of films from the 1890s till 2010,when the book was written. It is an interesting read though the authors occasionally spoil it when they go into academic overdrive about a film.
It is ironic that this book was written on the cusp of the change to digital, giving the film industry it's biggest shake up since the introduction of sound.
