One island. Two hurricanes. A love separated by decades.
Memories of a man who disappeared after a devastating hurricane years ago still haunt her. Now when a second storm creates chaos on Hatteras Island, she is stunned to learn that he might be back. That fact forces her to face feelings of abandonment and the other emotions that have defined her for so long. Love and anger.
Susan Kent is shaken to her core. Years ago, she placed Chris deep into the recesses of her mind. Then her granddaughter swears she recently met him and Susan realizes that she can no longer close off that painful part of her life.
Watching as her daughter and granddaughter work through their own emotional chaos with Chris, Susan struggles to accept this cataclysmic change in their family. When Chris fights for a chance to reconcile and then seems to question her loyalty, she draws an absolute line in the sand. Will they be able to accept their true feelings, or will they lose their chance at love, this time forever?

I enjoyed this book. I picked it up on a trip to the Outer Banks at the sweetest little book store where the author had visited and left a signed copy. I loved that area and look forward to visiting it again soon. Glad this author decided to write her book and hope she continues to put pen to paper as she enjoyed the area.
I was excited to purchase Storm Season during my first visit to the Outer Banks! Once home I began reading and could not put it down. The story made me feel like I was back In Hatteras, driving along , walking the beach and enjoying conversations with the locals. I loved the story line of family, friendship and love. I can’t wait to order Jans other books!
If you have ever been curious about how Hurricanes hit the Outer Banks this is the book for you. Beautiful descriptions that make you feel right in the Island. Easy read and an enjoyment for any looking for a sweet book.
As an avid reader, I think I loved this book so much as I love OBX. We stay a few times a year in Buxton and love surf fishing as much as the laid back attitude of residents. Enjoyed all the local references as much as the weather and how it impacts the area.
My first time reading this author and the story line was perfect for me. I lived in the outer banks to years and this book brings it all back to me! All ready to read the next one.
Angst driven . Reconcilliation of mothers/daughters. "We can't spend our time on what ifs." Interesting point about comuication without computer exchanges.
