In the fast changing world of today, we can all benefit from guidance in steering a course through the inevitable ups and downs of life. Life Mapping - so much more than just another self-development technique - can offer us a way forward that is uniquely suited to us as individuals. Simple to understand and fun to use, Life Mapping is both profound in its depth and great in its rewards. Your Life Map is a crystallisation of your best thoughts and feelings about your self, and a visual reminder of the best 'you' that you can imagine. In capturing this picture of your potential and holding it up as a beacon, your Life Map will help you define a vision of where you choose to go in life and supply a set of principles to help guide you there. An unchanging core in a fast changing world. The result will be a natural boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief as your Life Map leads you to be pro-active in your attitudes, and effective in living your best life.
Brian was born into a travelling fairground family. Further to a nomadic childhood, he left school early with no qualifications and unable to read or write.
He then joined the family amusements business, through which he established a nightclub and became the country’s youngest licensee. Unfortunately, during the UK recession of the late 1980s the business collapsed he lost what seemed like everything: his income, his home and his marriage. He was 29 years old, £1 million in debt and still relatively unable to read or write.
It was at this seemingly low point that Brian discovered the keys to success: that you can change your life by changing your thoughts and feelings about it.
Using simple but powerful techniques, Brian learned to hold positive thoughts by setting goals, and through those goals he gradually transformed both himself and his life.
20 years later, and Brian is an international speaker on human potential, and has empowered hundreds of thousands of people with his unique systems for success.
Not very interesting, but I did intend to make my own map and live the life the way the book told me. Then pop! It took less than a year, and I found my life almost similar to the map I drew.
If you're interested in having a life plan that makes sense, this is a book for you. Brian has done an excellent job of laying out how your brain works and what you need to do to change the script in your life. If you don't want to change your script, you can modify and make the one you're running better.
This is not a book about numeric goals. It's not a book about getting more done. It is a book about living a better life. Once you define the life you want, you then plan for it in a manner that allows you to remind yourself daily what's important and what you should be spending your time on.
One of my favorite things about this book is that I felt like I was having a conversation with the author. Brian does a great job of speaking with you about what's important. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
Soal bentuk life mapping pun, sebenarnya tidak seperti ekspektasi saya.
All in all, it did what a self-dev book should. To encourage, but not in a way I hope it to be.
