Just finished high school and with an array of pending books to read, including this book of love poems, I have a new appreciation for literature.
I didn't have to pick apart these poems, stanza by stanza, or have to analyze each and every word. I recognized a few sonnets that I studied in high school (Elizabeth Barrett Browning, William Shakespeare) and now reading them in my own leisure was much more enjoyable.
That's the beauty of literature; when you're expected to read a given text at school, you're most likely going to hate it. Yet picking up a book - without the stress of writing about it in an exam- is probably the best feeling.
This is the kind of book that you can read whilst listening to classical music on a summers day :) It's not usually my kind of read but hey, books from the library are free and I liked reading this one :)
