This book was very intriguing and helped me understand more about the experiences of the POW's and the cruel, harsh conditions they worked in. The book also explains how the prisoners lived, where they lived, and what they did in terms of work, and everyday life. We are told in vivid detail, the accounts of what the prisoners experienced, and what they witnessed during their time there. The inhumane actions that were bestowed upon them and their peers tugs at your heartstrings. They sadly tell their stories of how they lost their families to Nazi perpetrators. I definitely recommend this book to people who have an eye for history and are fascinated by first hand accounts of historical events.

This was a very good read to understand the events of a tragic time. It gave a lot of facts and a very good time line of Auschwitz. It gave several different perspectives and accounts from different people. I will be visiting soon and wanted to know more about Auschwitz but didn’t want too much information on this horrible place. I think it was well done in an understandable way but still getting the main experience through. Such a horrific time and so very sad.

The chapters of this book each tell a story of a different person's experience at Auschwitz. The horrors that occurred there are hard to wrap your brain around; so much heartache.

from the amount i've read so far, this book is very powerful and shows how evil people can be and how tough people are that want to survive.
