"Her eyes grew wide as saucers as she looked up, perhaps surprised the rain was no longer touching her. The droplets hit the clear plastic umbrella and bounced off, glittering as they fell aside."
After finishing with the first volume I quickly grabbed the second one and started reading it (ok I did not grab it per se, but I did picked up my Kindle :)).
The second volume continues the story one month after the events from the previous installment. The first two chapters where only fillers with the fan-service, however the story starts to develop when Shidou encounters Yoshino(n) for the second time.
No character development, but we were introduced to a new Spirit and we found out more about Origami (I always read her name as Origano, dunno why. Maybe I love pizza to much ... huehue).
The story was light, funny and it had a conflict (Touhka's jealousy).
If you read the first volume, read this one as well.
I think this volume was more of the same as the first one, not as good as volume one, yet I think this one was more thought provoking for me.
This volume follows Shido's inability to understand and accept the love of the people in his life around him. Just like the first book, it follows the same formula with Shido's life following a space quake and then a new spirit appearing.
But what stands out to me is Shido's complete and utter unawareness about the feelings of the people around him. He gets emberessed and wants to run away from all the spicy situations he finds himself in, despite wanting to engage in them himself. His flaws really do make Tohka hurt, and later on this inability leads him to fail miserably with his first date Yoshino.
I really liked the reveal of the split personality due to the puppet. It was almost like Shido actually didn't actually see Yoshino at first, and just assumed she was Yoshinon. And in the end he realizes his mistake and does start to think of Yoshino and Yoshinon as the same person.
I think one of my favorite lines in the book is when Shido claims he will be Yoshino's 'hero.' After she shares her struggles, he assumes the way to solve it to rescue her puppet and bring it back to her. In the end, he calls himself Yoshino's hero, but I think the meaning of that phrase changed for him by the end which really falls into the point of the story.
I think the meaning of this volume is accepting a person means accepting their hardships along with their happiness, which felt pretty satisfying to piece together while reading. I think its also a lesson I might have needed to hear for myself, so I think ill give this volume 5 stars.
I do think though if each book follows this formula, the series might get a little stale but from what I read from the afterwords, I think the author is going to spice things up in the next volume.
Veremos si sigue mejorando o vuelve a decaer

We join Shido again as he begins to face down, or try to heal, Yoshino and Yoshinon of their star power. It’s a good show and the first book was good, but for some reason I struggled to get into this one. Which is a shame, because I think Yoshino and her puppet are incredibly adorable. Maybe I was just not in the right mood for this book right now. The fact it took me 11 days to finish...
Shido has barely recovered from his ordeal with Tohka, when Tohka moves into his house as a "training" method for him. When a new spirit girl appears in town in the middle of a rain storm, he has to risk his live again for the world and the poor spirit girls.
I like the story for the over-the-top silly interaction and situations, much like part 1. While the characters (as of yet) are one dimensional, it is not exactly along the lines of the common tropes and they have made me curious about what exactly spirits are or Shido's past.
At times I also dislike the story for the over-the-top silliness. The real irritant for me though is Shido's denseness, all the weirder because at times he is surprisingly insightful into other people's emotions, or his over-the-top embarrassment behaviour. Some of the odd behaviour you have to take at face value, not just the interaction with Shido, but to the world at large (such as for example why AST keeps fighting even though they have 0 chance of success). Still, any such situations should really not come as a surprise in Volume 2 of a series.
Overall I dido enjoy reading the book just like Volume 1 and I will probably continue the series.
