It started out as the Full Life Study Bible; then it became the Life in the Spirit Study Bible. Now we know it as the new and improved Fire Bible a reference library in one volume.Originally conceived as a tool to help Pentecostal pastors and lay leaders preach, teach, and reach others with the Gospel, this study Bible is now available in the King James Version. It includes extensive notes, background articles on key issues, and authoritative commentary, along with dozens of other unique features. Created by Life Publishers International."Special Features" Themefinders point readers to 12 major themes of the Pentecostal tradition More than 70 articles explain historical and theological aspects of major topics Study notes for key verses Book introductionsv Subject index; cross-references; concordance In-text maps and charts One-year reading plan; and a color maps section Ribbon markers (except on hardcovers)"
I finally succeeded in reading this entire bible in 2025, after failing to finish in 2023 & 2024. I read all the articles and footnotes, too. This had more pages than any study bible I had read previously. These notes are from a Pentecostal perspective, not an evangelical perspective. I had not heard all these opinions before. This is a very good resource for anyone who wants detailed articles and footnotes about the Holy Spirit.
The ESV has been my primary translation for reading and study for a number of years now, and I thoroughly enjoy each read-through. I found the notes and articles in this edition interesting and helpful (although I do not endorse or hold to all of the same views as the author). As with any study Bible, the biblical text is inspired. The notes and study helps are not. There are plenty of resources for study in the cross-references, the subject index, and the “Twelve key themes.”
Like many Christians, I often find myself returning to Scripture again and again—reading, reflecting, and seeking deeper understanding. The Fire Bible has become an incredible companion in that journey. The commentary throughout this Bible is truly insightful and has helped strengthen both my faith and my understanding of God’s Word.
What makes this Bible so special is the depth of its commentary. Each note is filled with wisdom, historical context, and explanations of the original language that bring the Scriptures to life. Many times while reading the Bible I’ve paused and thought, “What does that even mean?”—only to find the exact question answered clearly in the commentary below the passage. It has helped me see Scripture with greater clarity and has given structure and depth to my relationship and walk with God.
I especially appreciate how the notes encourage reflection rather than just providing information. They guide the reader to think more deeply about the meaning of the passage and how it applies to our lives as believers.
I would highly recommend this Bible to anyone—whether you are a new Christian just beginning your journey, someone who has been walking with Christ for many years, or even someone who is simply curious and exploring faith. The commentary in this Bible makes the Word of God more approachable and helps lead readers toward a deeper understanding of Scripture and a closer relationship with Jesus.
