Winter has come to Heather Creek Farm. Charlotte's grandchildren are facing new challenges including what a real winter is like. Sam is invited to spend Christmas back in California with a friend, Emily is having problems with the pastor's daughter over the Christmas pageant and Christopher is facing a fear of his own. It is the first Christmas without Denise for the children and the first at the farm. A Patchwork Christmas has the family celebrating a Christmas at home reviving some old family traditions, conquering fear, realizing the importance of a Christmas pageant. A lesson learned praying for someone who might be considered an enemy. The ending is so sweet worthy of a Hallmark movie. Kristin Echardt has written a beautiful story.

It’s Christmas time at Heather Creek and Charlotte is totally overwhelmed with trying to make special Christmas stockings for her grandkids, making cookies for a cookie party, decorating and then she agrees to direct the Church Christmas pageant. She hopes her grandkids will be happy to be part of it but they aren’t. Emily is having a battle with another teen girl, Sam wants to go to his friend back in California for Christmas and the youngest has stage fright. The snow and cold aren’t making the kids happy and neither are the never ending chores on the farm. This book again makes you wonder how the grandfather and uncle ever ran the farm without all the free labor from the kids.

I am so impressed with each author who wrote in this series. How they kept the story going from one author to another, amazes me! I was pleasantly pleased with how the family's Christmas turned out. It seems to me each book hits it's high note at the end and I get so emotional once there. Another excellent book in the Home to Heather Creek Series!!

There was surprisingly more drama than I expected. The ending was especially satisfying, as it was not a happily ever after perfect ending, but an ending you would hope for in any family after the death of a loved one. I loved how the author managed to make the reader think twice and consider how maybe God really did have it all planned out, even when we thought he wasn't listening.

I picked this book up at one of the little free libraries near me, not expecting to enjoy it since I mainly read Dark Romance. But to my surprise I actually enjoyed it! I didn’t realize there were so many books in this series! I hope to find some more from this series to read 🥰

Book 5 in the Home to Heather Creek series

Things aren't going as she planned...Charlotte's desire is to bless her grandchildren with a wonderful Christmas - their first without their mother. She wants to make it special for them but funds are really tight. She told the pageant director that the children would be in it but that was before she mentioned it to them and Pete's making fun of the past pageants. She gets roped into more than she bargained for with Christmas being only about 3 weeks away.

There are those who are provoking Emily and there is someone who is provoking Sam.

This was a good family story set in the midwest about grandparents raising their orphaned grandchildren. There was the yearning to make Christmas wonderful for your kids, a touch of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," and the angst of being an uprooted kid in a new place, and the age old can't live with them/can't live without them of sibling relationships. A very enjoyable read.

It was weird to read this in April, and not at Christmas, but since I am reading my way through the series it seemed like a good idea. I have one more to read right now and I think I may be getting bored or antsy to read something else.

I have no re-read this at Christmas, and I love this series. :)

Christmas with The Stevensons!

The first Christmas without Denise. Mom, daughter, sister. Grandma is trying to make it special. Sam doesn't want to face Christmas without mom. And throw in a Christmas pageant and a blizzard!

A lovely book with three seperate stories. In my opinion, anything by Stephanie Grace Whitson is worth reading. Just very romantic and easy stories with Christmas theme.
