A cross between Shades of Grey and Z-Rated, No Boundaries takes readers on an unforgettable journey as a young law school graduate stumbles into an alternative lifestyle full of naughty pleasures.Just out of law school, Jaguar is deep in debt and takes a bartending job as an easy way to make money before he gets on the fast-track of corporate law. Meanwhile, slinging drinks does have its free booze, big tips, and plenty of women hitting on him constantly. He’s not looking for love, only a little fun to forget his troubles. But when he meets a mysterious beauty named Fonia, Jaguar is intrigued. Handsome and confident, Jag has never had problems attracting the opposite sex, but Fonia is elusive and presents a challenge. An old friend offers Jag an opportunity to make extra cash bartending at a private party. But the party is nothing like Jag has ever experienced. Not even the wildest frat party could compare to this extravaganza where no pleasure is forbidden. But the biggest shocker comes when Jag realizes that Fonia is heavily into bondage and submission. She belongs to a dominant master and Jag hates to watch her surrender to her deviant lover. Fonia has captured Jag’s heart, and over time he tries to convince her to break away from her brutal lover and understand that true love should never hurt.
No boundaries is a book written with two different points of view: Fonia's and Jaguar's, "Jag" for intimate ;).For a while I wondered how the two stories were going to meet and it did happened eventually.
At first, the author tell us the history of Fonia, her childhood with "Mr. Lord", her mother's boss... She met him when she was eleven and even if her mother knew how he was (dominant and all that), she let him be around her daughter ( stupid stupid stupid ). From then on, he controlled their lives, their behaviours, how to eat, what to eat, what to wear...etcetera. He's a rich and powerful man and he always bought new things (jewellery, luxury clothes) He brainwashed completely that little girl who just wanted someone to love her; and it was frustrating to see it when you know his intentions are so evil and you already know what's probably going to happen. He destroyed her links with her family (biological father/ and her mother) and made her think she needed him (tss). What I feel about that man...
On the other hand, Jaguar, is a guy who just finished (or almost) law school and want to be a corporate lawyer. However, he has lots of debts and need a job for summer; that's how he became a bartender, meet lots of people (lots of women drooling over his body and smile... Some of them are kind of creepy...) and also Fonia. When she entered that bar, he was immediately drawn to her not just physically but also emotionally and Jaguar know he wants her in his life and not just for one night...(which is so not like him)
I found that Fonia was sort of a pain in the a**. I don't even know how to explain it, she was just so naive when it comes to "Mr. Lord" and I can understand it considering he manipulate her to be his perfect little pet obeying him all the time but I just wanted to shake her and tell her to WAKE UP FOR GOOD. (Sometimes, it's like in an horror movie, you know? When you scream at the girl "No no no, don't do that! NO! DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR!" But she does it anyway, and you're like "Hey, this isn't my fault, girl. I've warned you.)
For the erotic part of the book, well, it is FULL of sex scenes, seriously. There were lots of it (either Fonia or Jaguar) but don't think it's a story only based on that, because it isn't. There is a real story behind all this, with Fonia and Jaguar trying to put her out of reach of this crazy sadistic man (fans of BDSM probably won't find Mr. Lord crazy and all that but I think there are limits... When the guy imposed himself in her life ten years earlier so that he can use her sexually later... Hum.)
I loved the part when the main characters meet again. Jag became all protective around her to save her from that man and they're helping each other. YAY. He became again a badass (but a loving one) and I liked it ;).
About Curt... poor him. It is just so damn sad and unfair for him ! We don't really know him (just his history) but I really like him anyway.
Allison Hobbs never ceases to amaze me. She went all the way in with Fiona and Mr. Lord. Forbidden pleasures, bondage and submission. Deviant lovers, brutal affairs and etc. Realistically I realize this goes on. Call me a prude because I was not brought up with S&M. This does not turn me on. Allison is excellent in her narrative and words.
No Boundaries: A Review (please note that this book is being reviewed based on an advanced uncorrected proof copy) First off, I want to state that as always with Ms. Hobbs, No Boundaries was a wild ride. While this was an ARC copy of the book, I must say there were no editing issues and the writing is clear and precise. Now, on to the meat and potatoes. The book starts off with a bang and I mean that in every sense of the word. Starting off we meet our male protagonist, Jaguar Jackson. I liked Jag almost immediately, mainly because he made no excuses about who he was. He is a young man who loves sexual gratification and made no qualms about going after it. I appreciated the aspect of him being a male in dire need of work so he could pay off his college debt. Normally, we see females in books that are in this predicament, but I appreciate Ms. Hobbs for, once again, thinking outside of the box. While upon first introduction you may think Jag to be a complex character, but as you read on you begin to see that he's a man who speaks his mind and goes after what he wants, no holds barred. Jag ends up taking a job that his friend, Sharif, tells him about at this bar called The Dive. Now, we all know how Ms. Hobbs works and this dive was the perfect setting for her to write about some freaky escapades that we can all enjoy. It is here at this bar that we meet some pretty ah... "interesting" characters. You have Rat-Face, Buddha, an old white couple that's trying to pick up anything on two legs willing to go back to a hotel with them and get it on, Bee Sting, a black woman married to a white man who likes to watch her have sex with black men (yeah, you read that right), and whole slew of other colorful characters you won't soon forget. Surprisingly, one of my favorite characters from the book is one who never utters a word in the book, Curt. I won't say too much about him, I'll save you that surprise. Let's just say Curt was the one who brought me back down to earth each and every time Ms. Hobbs took this rollercoaster to the top. Next we meet Fonia. For some reason I kept calling her Fiona in my head, but that's neither here nor there. We meet Fonia when she was just eleven years old. Her mother is working for a man by the name of Mr. Lord. I can tell you, almost immediately, I didn't like the man. I knew he was up to no good as soon as he bestowed his first set of gifts upon the little girl and started calling her princess. I wanted to strangle Fonia's mom for recognizing what this man was doing and still allowing him to come around her child as he did. But then again, I felt sorry for the woman because obviously she had mental issues to allow Mr. Lord to "Lord" over her the way she did. By the time Fonia was thirteen she was starting to smell herself a little bit and this is where I wanted to take a paddle and beat Mr. Lord across his darn head with it. Ugh. Ms. Hobbs does an excellent job of taking you through the years and showing how Mr. Lord took the time to develop and mold Fonia into the submissive mess she was. By the time she was sixteen, he had her eating out the palm of his hands and as you read you will find I mean this in every sense of the word. Mr. Lord was so good at manipulating Fonia that it turned her mother into a retched mess. And for the life of me I could not understand why this grown woman, Fonia's mother, allowed this man to take control of her daughter as such. I stopped feeling sorry for Fonia's mother a few chapters in because she was a grown woman and was doing everything willingly. So if she wanted to have the kind of relationship she had with Mr. Lord, then so be it. But instead of her protecting her daughter, she seemingly turned a blind eye to it and gave this man free reign. Now the synopsis states that Jag is supposed to meet Fonia and she is supposed to offer him a job at a private party. That is not the case, however, as it is his friend Sharif that tells him about the job and offers to put him on. When Fonia and Jag finally meet, I expect it to be a little more interaction between them but, surprisingly, there wasn't. Ms. Hobbs takes us back to their everyday lives which included Jag's adventures at the bar and Fonia dealing with the fallout behind the news Mr. Lord delivers to her. When Mr. Lord reveals to Fonia his plans, it sends her into almost an emotional melt down which causes her venture out on her own for the first time in life. For the last ten or so years she had been under Mr. Lord's lock and key. Here is where things started to annoy me a bit. Once Fonia is out on her own, let's just say the book started to read like one of Zane's earlier novels, Addicted and/or Nervous. This annoyed me because, as stated before, I was expecting Ms. Hobbs to explore the relationship between Fonia and Jag more, but it never occurred. Fast forward to Jag bar tending the second private party (by now it's close to the end of the book), and this is where his and Fonia's storyline picks back up. This is also after Mr. Lord finds Fonia and makes her move out of the apartment she was in and back into the place he's provided for her. From the first party Jag attends you can tell he wasn't really feeling the atmosphere of the place, so it was no surprise that when he found the woman he had been hoping to run into again being served a severe punishment that he rushes in to save the day. Most of the time, through Jag `s escapades that had nothing to do with Fonia, he still showed the audience how he was crushing Fonia which was odd considering they'd only met twice and each time was brief. By the time we get to Fonia and Jag, the book is coming to an end and seemed a bit rushed at that point. I really liked the character Jag and, even when she annoyed and mildly disgusted me, I thought the character Fonia was well developed. The fact that Sharif gave Jag a warning about rescuing Mr. Lord's "property" and taking her away from him, I was expecting Mr. Lord to be more of a man than he turned out to be. All in all, I really wished the storyline between Jag and Fonia could have taken the place of the storyline between Rayna and Jag or even some of Jag's sexual escapades. I really didn't get the method behind the madness of Ms. Hobbs not giving us more of their storyline and I really didn't get one of the ending scenes when Fonia tells Jag the truth about her sexual appetite. Jag goes to take a shower and comes out a new man willing to satisfy Fonia's every need when he'd just been thoroughly disgusted by her warped way of thinking just moments before. In the end, I give No Boundaries three and a half stars. Even with my gripes, Ms. Hobbs does what she does best: think outside of the box and gives us a story that leaves us either wanting more or scratching our heads thinking, what the hell did I just read? And believe me when I tell you, that's a good thing.
A little too much for me with the 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘵 of child grooming/molestation. I know these horrific practices occur, but I am not trying to read about them in a book that 𝙄 purchased. Feel me?!?!
(This review originally appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer)
It’s a dark world that Allison Hobbs writes about in her latest book. A dark, perverted world that most people know little or nothing about. A dark, perverted world about which, I knew ahead of time, I would find distasteful to read. I was wrong. Forget Fifty Shades of Grey, I’ve become fascinated with the Fifty Shades of Allison. No Boundaries – the eighteenth novel written by Philadelphia native, Allison Hobbs – explores the world of BDSM (That’s Bondage, Discipline, and Sadomasochism for those of you who don’t know.) through the eyes of a young female devotee and a young male disgusted with even the idea of it. Fonia Jenkins is only 11 when she meets her mother’s employer – the mysterious Mr. Lord – for the first time. He’s handsome, wealthy, and “exudes masculine authority,” and on their first meeting showers her with presents, telling her he’s pleased to meet “such a good girl.” When Fonia realizes her mother’s usually aggressive demeanor becomes passive in Mr. Lord’s presence, she emulates the behavior and is rewarded with even more gifts. Fonia, though, is mystified about the nature of her mother’s relationship with Mr. Lord. She’s pretty sure they’re not boyfriend and girlfriend – neither she nor her mother ever call him anything but “Mr. Lord” – yet he moves them into a townhouse and stops by, for a short time, every evening. One night she peeks into her mother’s bedroom and witnesses Mr. Lord beating her mother with a wooden paddle. The next morning, Fonia sees her mother sporting a brand new pair of diamond earrings. To Fonia’s surprise, Mr. Lord presents her an identical pair, calling her his “little princess” when she politely thanks him for the gift. As years go by he continues to spoil her, buying her expensive clothing and jewelry, and paying her tuition at a swanky private school. Initially Fonia sees Mr. Lord as a father-figure, but as she grows older her feelings change and she begins competing with her mother for his affection. Realizing Mr. Lord is displeased the few times her mother disagrees with him, Fonia determines to stay pleasant and agreeable. And the more docile she becomes, the more she is awarded. He proudly tells her one day: “I enjoy molding you into the perfect little submissive.” Jaguar Jackson was raised in the mean streets of North Philadelphia and was hustling by the time he was thirteen. But when his best friend is gunned down and almost killed, Jag realizes he needs to turn his life around. He attends college on a basketball scholarship, then gets a law degree in New York; but, at twenty-seven, he returns to Philadelphia – broke. He’s due to start a paid internship at a mid-size law firm in September in order to get experience before taking his bar examination, but needs a summer job to pay his rent until then. When a childhood buddy offers him a gig bartending at a local dive, Jaguar reluctantly takes him up on his offer. The tips are good and he meets an eclectic group of regulars, including an obese male wannabe porn star, a horny biker chick who wants to take him to bed while her boyfriend watches, and an elderly couple constantly seeking hard young bodies for a threesome. Well-endowed, and always horny, the good looking Jag has plenty of opportunities to satisfy his over-active sex drive. One night a beautiful young woman walks in the bar – one much more cultured and refined then the usual clientele. Jaguar is immediately smitten with the woman, sensing in her a vulnerability that appeals to his male ego. He finds out her name is Fonia, but little else. Though she only stays a short time, she promises to return the following evening. When she fails to do so he is devastated; certain he’ll never see her again. Shortly afterward Jaguar’s buddy approaches him about bartending at a private sex parties, but when he tells Jaguar of the events that occur at the parties – including bondage, and S&M – Jaguar’s narrow-minded manner makes him rescind the offer. But when he becomes desperate for more money, Jaguar goes back to his friend, promising his prudish attitude won’t affect his work. Like her mentor, Zane, Hobbs is known for the sexually explicit content of her books, and No Boundaries is no exception. Make no mistake about it, the sex in No Boundaries is both abundant and hot. But what separates this book from many others dealing with BDSM is the character development, and the detailing of how a submissive can groomed from childhood. A somewhat disturbing tale, but an utterly fascinating one.
Rating: 2 Divaz Starz Synopsis: A cross between Shades of Grey and Z-Rated, No Boundaries takes readers on an unforgettable journey as a young law school graduate stumbles into an alternative lifestyle full of naughty pleasures. Just out of law school, Jaguar is deep in debt. When his fellow graduates head off to exotic locations to celebrate with sun and fun, Jag has to stay behind and earn a living. Review: No Boundaries was a story of a struggling Law school graduate, struggling to make ends meet until his big break of a paid internship starts in a few months. During his stint as a bartender, Jag is exposed to various entertainment and flirtatious women until a chance encounter with Fiona. Where this relationship and story lead is very confusing to readers and inconsistencies come to light. The synopsis of this book and the actual storyline are vastly different and will definitely have the reader confused when first reading this book. The book starts out with Jag seeking employment until his internship starts and his childhood friend is the person that offers him the opportunity to make extra cash bartending at private parties, not Fiona. While at the same time Jag is acclimating himself with his bartending job, the author does flashbacks of Fiona growing up and showing how she was introduced to bondage and submission. It was a while before Jag and Fiona got together and Jag’s view of bondage and submission were inconsistent. The author did a good job developing Fiona’s character, however some of the escapades Fiona was involved and Jag’s situation were unrealistic, which did not make for a good read. I felt Jag as well as Fiona were impulsive and that Fiona’s path was so extreme that it was just unbelievable. This was my first book by this author and while I did not enjoy this book, I will look for other stories by this author.
"No Boundaries" is the story of Fonia and Jaguar. Fonia is a young beauty bound by a man who claims he has only her best interest at heart. Jaguar is a man working to make ends meet and doing what he has to do to get ahead. They meet totally by chance and there is instantly an attraction, but something is holding Fonia back. See how manipulation, lies, and bondage can really mess up an innocent soul and the lengths one will go to free this bound soul.
“No Boundaries” really delves into the life of being a dominatrix versus a subservient and willing participant. It shows you how when a person has a lot of money and power they can easily rule over and control a person. I felt like it was well written, very descriptive and really opened my eyes to the lengths some people will go to, all in the name of control. I really liked Jag's character; he had his faults but he had integrity.
Very good read, a few errors but it was still a very good novel.
Allison Hobbs has did it again.I loved Jag and Fionna's story in No Boundaries.Allison takes us places and into lifestyles few Authors can do.From the beginning I rooted for a little girl lost Fionna. She had been trained earlier on to be the prefect little submissive. I rooted for her when she broke free and my heart broke when she was looking for love in all the wrong places.I really enjoyed this story. Can I say I want more of Jag and Fionna story.
Jaguar, a recent graduate from law school, is working odd jobs to survive until his internship begins. Women literally throw themselves at him, but he is determined to get to know one woman named Fonia. Little does he know, she comes with an attachment that may prove deadly.
From a very young age, Finished witnessed her mother being chastised by her boss, which somehow makes her curious. When she finally gets her opportunity to become a part of a secret life, it's more than what she bargained for.
These two encounter a chance meeting and can't stop thinking about one another. Will they be enough for one another, as they experience a life with no boundaries?
Once again, I enjoyed the way @allisonhobbsbestsellingauthor told this 💎💎💎💎💎 story. When I found out who the hostess of the sex parties was, I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend this book for fans of the underworld.
I really enjoyed this one and I would recommend it... Allison Hobbs is one of my most favorite authors!! And this was no let down either .. I would love for her to write another enchantress type series.
Ohhhhh boy!!! No Boundaries is the definition of H-O-T!!!! There really is no other word to describe it. I received this book back in June and actually read it on my flight from Germany to America. And, that was a test in itself to try to stay contained to little airplane seat while reading it.
No Boundaries is not only a masterful piece of erotica, but it has a storyline that will make you shake you head and wonder what the heck am I reading. Sometimes erotica, especially the well-known books (you know which one I am referring to, lol) is like watching bad porn meaning the sex might sound/look ok, but the dialogue makes you wanna scream (in a bad, disgusted way). Allison Hobbs delivers the complete opposite.
Mr. Lord is a MESS. That’s the nicest possible adjective I can use to describe him. You will need to read the book to understand why I say this. Don’t blame the author for writing this type of character because there are plenty of men like him in real life. This was my first time reading a book written by Allison Hobbs but it will NOT be my last. As a matter of fact, I now feel the need to go buy all of her books!!!
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of No Boundaries in exchange for an honest review.
Fonia is a young lady with a low self-esteemed due to watching her mother enter into the world of bondage and submissiveness with her boss. Her mother's master and former boss, Mr. Harrison Lord decides to take Fiona under his wings after her mother becomes disobedient.
Mr. Lord uses Fiona's youth and innocence to get what he wants from her. He doesn't actually take advantage of her sexually in the beginning but let's just say, he uses her in a way that he gets pleasure from. Being that Fiona has always been under the lock and key of Harrison Lord's watchful eye, when the opportunity is opened for her to escape from that life, she runs like hell and vows to do everything she missed out on life. Being oppressed for so long causes Fiona to sleep with any and every thing with a penis between their legs.
Along the way she meets Jaguar who is fresh out of law school. Jaguar is bartending to get himself out of debt. He has had his share of sexual trysts but something in Fiona makes him re-think his position on sex for fun.
Will Fiona break free from the chains of Harrison Lord? Will Fiona and Jaguar live happily ever after? You have to one click to find out as Allison Hobbs takes us on another ride of twists and turns with a dosage of hot sex in between.
Jaguar, what a name for a guy, who just got out of law school and apparently is in debt. I read it a few times in the first 50 pages but was interested because he completed law school. Then read about Fonia's life with a man she cannot call daddy or father, only Mr. Lord since a young girl growing up to be a teenager. It seems like he will use her for his own sexual pleasures and deeds...predictable as I read but waiting to see how this will take place. Her mother tells her verbally that Mr. Lord is using her and will eventually have another family to call his little girl (like daughter).
This is the first time I read this author, but usually do not read erotica anymore since college years. Therefore I will skim through the sexual scenes to get to the morale of the story. However, this story just didn't work for me. I did complete it for the sake of.
*I received the book from the publicist to provide a review. I have the book copy.
Miss Hobbs paints a very disturbing and ugly life the main character, Fonia lives. The character development is top notch. But the story is quite unsettling. The ending left me with hope for a more beautiful life for Fonia. Although this was not my cup of tea, I was pleased with the quality of writing. This title added to the diversity of my booklist.

No Boundaries by Allison Hobbs is a hot erotic read; it takes you on a wild ride into the world of BDSM. Make no mistakes, it is not for the faint of heart, nor those who are easily embarrassed by sexy dialogue, and straight to the point hot & steamy sex. I put this book away in one night, it was that good!
This book made "Fifty Shades" look like a Disney fairytale. I highly recommend! Freak, kinky, erotic, and had a great ending. I could not put this book down! This book was a page turner for sure! Enjoy! XOXO
What a great hot book! What a surprise ending! If readers are wanting a steamy read as well as characters you can care about and root for, read this one TODAY!
Only Allison Hobbs can come up with these hot, incredible page turning stories. Loved the characters Jaguar and Fonia and could definitely see a sequel to this one.
This book is so messed up. Seriously screwed with my head some. I think the ending was rushed and felt really thrown together considering how much back story led up to it
