Novel - Unconventional NYC Transit cop Jack Swann kills a black teenager who has taken his gun during an arrest. Afterwards Jack changes partners, makes above ground arrests, and confuses his fellow "Cave Cops". He borrows $10K and goes on a spending spree with a woman he has formerly admired from afar. The spending attracts the attention of Internal Affairs.
