I want to like this more, but it just makes me so sad (although the last page is a perfectly chosen still of Bandit getting attacked lol). I suppose it reminds me too much of my childhood, without the happy ending. Ouch.

We found this book checking out a local independent bookshop, I offered it to my son (2) initially but he was in a mood and rejected it, so his sister (5) took it and she's read it about 5 times in the last day. We watch the show, so the kids are familiar with the characters, and the stories that are involved. It's a cute story based on an episode, and the kids having seen the show did help with reading the book.

A very enjoyable book to add to our Bluey collection.

Bluey and Bingo are playing butterflies with Judo. But when Judo wants to abandon Bingo in the middle of playing butterflies, she convinces Bluey to join her. Bluey feels bad, and the trio has to have a talk about including everyone.

There’s a good lesson in here about including others when playing together. The creators of Bluey definitely understand the stream of consciousness of kids, and how it can jump from one thing to another on a whim.

Bluey and Bingo are playing butterflies with Judo. When Judo gets impatient with Bingo and convinces Bluey to leave Bingo all alone during the game, Bluey agrees. Feeling sad and left out, Bingo ends up alone. When Bluey starts to feel guilty and wants to go back to Bingo, Judo doesn't. Finally Bluey steps up and leaves Judo to go find Bingo.

When the three are back together, they come to agree that no one can be left behind and instead they need to play together.

Jack borrowed this book from the Canal Winchester library. He was excited to see that they have Bluey books and picked this one himself.

I'm surprised how much Jack liked the book, as this episode has never been a huge favorite. But he listened to the whole thing and giggled hysterically at the caterpillar/butterfly game. He showed appropriate sympathy when Bingo was upset and seemed to like the little song, too.

3.5 stars--The older pups leave a younger sibling out of a game they are playing, and learn an important lesson. This is a sweet, relatable story for small kids about playing fair and including everyone in the game.
