The onset of cancer presents one of the most fundamental problems in modern biology. In Dynamics of Cancer, Steven Frank produces the first comprehensive analysis of how particular genetic and environmental causes influence the age of onset.

The book develops and reviews a mathematical model for use in evaluating the impact of genetic differences or chemical exposure on the cancer incidence (occurrence) rate as age increases. Various cancer types are discussed with respect to their change in incident rate vs age, and the model is used to detail the differences between cancer types in rate changes vs age.
