http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A8UZT76 Award winning author Jet Elway takes on the detective novel in the irreverent Zack Jones: Private Eye. Set in the 1980s, it focuses on twenty-one year old Zack Jones; a clueless wanna-be detective searching for the meaning of life and, more importantly, his next month's rent money. With no actual means to support himself other than his "job" as a private investigator, he must rely on help from his friends -- his friends being drunks and drug dealers -- in order to avoid eviction from his harsh and mean-spirited landlady.
Unfortunately, his friends aren't exactly the golden tickets he was hoping for, and things don't look too good for Zack. Everything seems lost, until someone miraculously calls and offers Zack a job. It seems as though he's finally caught a break, and now all he needs to do is not screw things up for once ...
I purchased this book when it was for free. When I picked it up I found it an engaging little book which held me throughout. Zack Jones is a private eye and nothing he does seems to go to plan as he trips through life. If you want an easy to read, entertaining book this is one to try.
