The Other Ark

Rate this book
A fabulously fun new twist on Noah's Ark by master storyteller, Lynley Dodd! The rain is fast approaching and Noah wants to set sail. There are still lots of animals queueing to get on to the Ark but it's absolutely jam packed. Noah has to ask his friend, Sam Jam Balu to take the other Ark and all the rest of the animals. So he valiantly starts gathering hip-hopping hippos, mad kangaroosters and flying flapdoodles - not to mention the dithering dingbats and sabre-tooth mice! But no sooner has San Jam Balu finished his task than the Other Ark is well and truly grounded!

Great creativity in names and drawings for the animals. I felt incredibly sad for the animals that didn't make it in the second ark.

It's a shame. not as fantastic as hairy maclairy's or slinky malinky's but still a good read. my 5 yr old love the made up creatures and their names which would have been the author's intent I'm sure. So the book was a hit for my child

It had a lot of potentional for cool animals but other than the elephantsnails, I thought it was pretty mediocre.

Saw an exhibit of Linley Dodd's illustrations and I particularly liked the ones in this book.
