some of this was useful but some of it was downright wrong, and in fact so wrong that some of the tips in this book have been shown to be dangerous or been featured on mythbusters [and busted:]
also, at least a half dozen of the tips are recognizably lifted, word for word or nearly so, from some older versions [1960's and 70's:] of "helpful hints from heloise"/"heloise all around the house"
