A cryptozoological paperback curio entailing rape and revenge at the hands of sasquatch, Nights With Sasquatch defies any and all literary classification. The novel takes the form of alternating passages, written from the perspectives of our two main characters, John and Judith, also the credited authors, when the actual author is animal cinematographer and writer Jack Couffer. The book details an ill-fated journey between man and woman as they hike through the Northwest mountains and stumble upon a legend larger (and lustier) than life—Bigfoot himself. Much of the opening "chapters" or perspectives encompass thoughts on science, love, the beautiful scenery. The two of them making playful passes at each other while the other's chapter affirms or denies various statements or feelings. Eventually, the two characters begin to sleep with each other, taking sex breaks at camp. At the same time, the author sells the absolute shit out of the beautiful scenery, which is where I would say the book works best until Couffer reveals the true intention of this book—Sasquatch cuckoldry. While not worth the exorbitant price this book seems to fetch, and before the pacing hits a wall with a tedious search & rescue, some of the passages are hilarious; listening to the lamentations of an emasculated scientist compare penis sizes with that of Bigfoot to his own, worried what his partner might think, is a treat. And then you have lines like "Could I ever go to bed with her again without wondering if I'd been longcocked by a fucking gorilla?"
