Most over-rated classic ever! Cervantes has a nice writing style and I gather the original Spanish is very witty. I read this with two others, each with a different translation - saw no material difference in the translations or footnotes.

I appreciate Cervantes' play with the pastoral and romance crazes of his time, but the book is full of cruelty and repetition - not for me. Part two is better than part 1, but all the famous stuff is in part 1.
