Intelligent, concise overview of European sea explorations of the Renaissance. I was particularly impressed by the first chapter. The author, an academic historian who knows how to write well, sticks to well documented evidences.

slight - a bit chatty. But author is knowledge. Reasonable complement to Parry's far more substantial book.
