I read The Art and Science of Happiness by Swami Mukundananda with a background in psychology, so much of the neuroscience felt like review. The book covers familiar topics such as brain chemistry, habits, attention, and emotional regulation. The explanations stay clear and accurate, though they did not add new depth for readers already trained in psychology or neuroscience.

The “art” side focuses on mindfulness, meaning making, and living in alignment with values. This part overlaps with approaches found in mindfulness based and acceptance based work. The book feels structured and accessible, though not especially original. I did not find it groundbreaking, but I see value for readers at the beginning of a happiness or self development journey.
