When my best friend settles into her happy-ever-after, I’m determined to make my own dreams come true. Inheriting my father’s beach house gives me the space I need to make my desires a reality.
But love seems to be a bit more elusive for me.
Enter my stepbrothers.
I barely know them and ought to hate them. They think I owe them something when the simple truth is, I owe them nothing more than the terms of the will, which allows them to live under the same roof.
So here we are—roommates, enemies, and possibly more, as sparks between us ignite in the summer heat.
Those sparks, though, have the power to rage unchecked. Someone is trying to take away everything my father has given me, and it could be the men in my bed.
H8 is the thrilling spin-off to Five and Six. If you’re a sucker for dark and twisted fairytales, you won’t want to miss this mash-up of Cinderella and Snow White.
The moment I saw there was a review copy on Booksprout for an Evie Rae (E.R.Whyte) book, I honestly screamed and immediately wanted to read it even if the book review was due the very next day. I didn't care how busy I was; I needed to read this - especially when it featured 3 hot men! And so, I spent the entire day, sneaking away to read the book in the strangest places. Doing dishes? Check. Watching a movie? Check. Tutoring a 6-year-old? Check. Sat in the bathtub fully clothed? Check. I even read this in the dressing room of a mall because that was the only time I could be alone for a little while longer. This is how much obsessed I was with this book, and it all started with just the prologue.
The prologue of this story really hooks you and doesn't let you free until you're fully satisfied with the contents. I became 100% obsessed with Kylian in the prologue, despite having a feeling i shouldn't (very much like Caroline), and then Levi swaggered into the first chapter, flashing Caroline and being all mischievous, and I fell in love with him too. When I found out that Caroline only had two stepbrothers, I wondered if the third would be Beau or someone else. But then, THAT scene happened and I knew I was wrong. And man, was I glad to be wrong!
Each character in this book had a different personality, which worked wonders to create a surprising harmony between the characters. Caroline's sunshine personality contrasted against Kyl's stoic, stiff grumpiness, whereas Levi's mischievousness brought out her own playfulness. Meanwhile, Finn's support and consideration allowed her to trust and rely on him. And then, all three men's personalities were even more apparent when they were together, and it helped strengthen their brotherly bond. Finn realising how Kylian feels about Caroline allowed him to trust Kylian with what was going on. Levi watching Kylian show off in the water and Caroline cling to a bewildered Kyl let him accept his feelings of love for her. Kylian, on the other hand, secretly panicking when Finn took Caroline on a date brought out his own protectiveness and put him in a dilemma over who to choose: his mother or his stepsister. Each character's actions and dialogues revealed their own personality and reflected the others', and it was just all brilliantly done.
Now, excuse me while I go rant about these three men to all my reader friends.
Caroline (h) inherits her father's beach house with the hope of pursuing her own dreams. However, her plans are complicated by the sudden presence of her stepbrothers, Levi (H), Kylian (H), and Finn (H), who she barely knows and is expected to share the inheritance with. Initially, the relationship between Caroline and her stepbrothers is marked by rivalry and animosity. They believe she owes them something more than the terms of the will, and tensions escalate as they all end up living under the same roof. Despite their initial enmity, sparks of attraction begin to ignite between them, leading to a complex web of emotions. Amidst the backdrop of their evolving relationships, a threat looms over Caroline's inheritance. Someone is attempting to take away everything that her father left her, and suspicion falls on the men who have become entangled in her life. As the story unfolds, Caroline and her stepbrothers must navigate their feelings for each other while also confronting the danger that surrounds them. Caroline's strong-willed nature and her sharp wit fuel her journey of self-discovery and love, while the multi-layered personalities of Levi, Kylian, and Finn provide depth to the relationship dynamics. A really engaging story that blends dark fairytale elements, with unexpected twists and turns that challenge the characters' allegiances and desires. Plus, all of the ultra-hot and steamy RH action can't be overlooked with lots of explicit intimate scenes.
Hating Them is a dark RH romance that follows Caro (Caroline) as she inherits her father's beach house. She hopes to create a future for herself in this new space. However, there's a catch - her stepbrothers come with the house. Despite feeling obligated to them, the only thing owed is a roof over their heads, which Caro provides. As roommates and enemies, the tension between them is palpable and sparks fly. Adding to the drama, there's an enemy trying to take away everything Caro holds dear.
Hating Them is an addictive, suspenseful, and spicy read. Each stepbrother brings a unique dynamic to the story. Levi, Kylian, and Finn constantly clash with Caro, creating a captivating narrative. As their feelings evolve, so does the suspense and revenge aimed at Caro from the enemy. This book offers a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions that will keep readers hooked until the very end.
"Hating Them" is a stunning dark (but not too dark) RH with a plot that will hook you, and three dreamy, delicious brothers who fall for the same sunshiny woman, Caroline. That is, after they each decide they won't unalive her for their evil mother, Teresa, who was written so wonderfully that I absolutely abhorred her. Determined to get ahold of her late husband's beach house, which was willed to his daughter, Caroline, she sends Levi, Kylian, and Finn to scare her out of the house. Finn is the guys' foster brother, unbeknownst to Caro. Instead, well-- let's just say much sexiness ensues! I read this book in a day, ignoring everything else, and it was so hot, it had me removing clothes and turning down the AC 😆 I challenge you to read it in public and not blush! Or maybe don't do that. Just a suggestion. Anyway, I fell in love with Caro first, with her sharp wit, smart mouth, and the way she fought back in the initial prank war that was supposed to make her surrender her beach home to the evil Terese. But you know what they say, fighting is foreplay, to quote the authors loosely. Levi was my favorite, with his love of art, surfing, his sense of humor, and his gentleness. I also loved her meet-cute with Finn and their first solo date even though I was screaming at the book for her not to trust him and lecturing Caro about her bad decisions. "This is some crazy stuff I'd have done in my 20s" was all I could think about that situation. As for how THAT turns out, you'll just have to read the book. I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised. Neve and her men also come into play in this book, so maybe check out their book first. Kudos to the authors for writing this book that oozed with sexiness, humor, and intensity. This won't be my last read by these authors!
Caroline is still grieving the death of her father which is made more complicated by her step brothers being left equal shares of the properties left behind. Her stepmother is an evil woman who is determined to chase her out of the property she is living in using her sons. Caroline is angered by pranks, coldness and various encounters meant to scare her away but she will not budge. She begins to see through their behaviour to the men beneath it all and can't deny the lust they provoke in her. Giving in may not be all bad but they still won't be able to seize what she won't part with and danger may enter her life quickly. There's a much bigger picture that has been missed and she is very much in need of saving.. Will they be her salvation or her downfall?
This was a fantastic read that truly had everything you could hope for with its sass, its bite and its desire spitting heat that may just sear the skin. I was throughly tied to Caroline's experiences and her inner strength made this book an instant favourite that had me in awe of the author. A mixture of arrogance, calculating, wickedness and unfair treatment mean you can't help but hate the males with a passion that soon turns into another type. Each dangerous encounter had me gripping onto my phone with sheer force so much that I'm surprised my screen took it. I am a sucker for a reverse harem and this ticked every single box and more for me. There is so much depth that you could easily sink in the sands of it and happily lose your breath.

First off, I love that so many of Evie’s characters are connected in small ways. Not enough to where you HAVE to read all the other books, but definitely enough so that you get excited when you figure out who’s story you’re reading. Now for the story… Whewwww….this book starts out by pulling you into the fire 🔥 And it only gets better from there lol. Caroline’s father passed & left her all his properties, but he also made the provision allowing her step brothers to have access to the properties. That might not be so bad except for the fact that they show up & start making her life miserable in every way possible. Are they just apples that didn’t fall far from the tree that their evil mother resided in? Or is it possible there’s more to the twisted games they’re playing with her? Then there’s the new man in her life….who ends up being an even bigger part of the mess that she’s somehow found herself in. From one moment to the next, Caroline is surrounded by danger that she never expected, and eventually protected by men she never saw coming. This book is dark in all the best ways, filled with humor you don’t expect, passion that’ll knock your socks off, danger & action to keep you on the edge of your seat, and most importantly, a love worth fighting for. An amazing & highly entertaining read that you don’t wanna miss!

To see Caroline and the way her men argue with her makes me love enemies to lovers. For Finn to protect her from danger the first time he sees her despite him being there for different reasons shows that from the start he knew he cared for her. To be able to see the other men from the past books care for Caroline as if she were their sister is such a sweet touch since it shows they care for her as a person but also Neve's best friend. I have fallen in love with everyone from this series and hold a soft spot for both Cope but also Levi. Not going to lie I cried in the last chapter because like 😭 The pain of going through that and Oliver knowing. The Lost Boys has been one of my favorite series of all time and I am truly in love with all the characters. I've laughed at their antics but I've also cried with their heartbreak and this book is no exception to that. I have fallen in love with any story I read by you no matter the different pen names. I love this dynamic they all have and the care they have for one another. I truly could not recommend an Evie Rae/E.R. Whyte book enough!!

Wow! What can I say? I loved the story of Neve and here men where her best friend Caroline was introduced. This is Caroline’s story of how her father died and left her his money but split the houses equally between her two stepbrothers Levi and Kylian and her. But his ex wife Teresa was left out of the majority of the financial settlement. Now her stepmother wanted her house and was forcing her sons to get Caroline out of it using whatever method they could. But Teresa also wanted Caroline’s trust. What follows is a story full of action and criminal activities and steamy, hot moments between her stepbrothers and their foster brother Finn. There is a surprise ending but overall the book was fantastic and I couldn’t put it down until I finished the last page.

These authors have become one of my favorite duos and I am working my way through every title! This one does not disappoint.
The characters are very unique and the relationship between them makes for some of the most humorous (Levi) and sexy (Kylian and Finn) scenes. I particularly enjoyed the wild abandon Levi that Levi and Ro exhibit when deciding to paint the hallway. The epilogue had me tearing up.
There are references to prior books in the series, particularly regarding "the lost boys". If would have helped to know more about that, but it's sparked my interest and those books are on my TBR list, for sure!
Overall, this is a great book for RH readers and it's one I highly recommend! There is an HEA with no cliffhanger and plenty of sex as well as brief violence (nothing too gruesome).

This story is very well-written, compelling, and full of drama. Twists and turns; danger; deception. It is dark, but not too dark; it's humorous in unexpected ways. It's hot; it's confusing, and the relationship between Caroline and her step brothers is complex and keeps you hanging on every scene. I did not read the other books in this series, and you really don't have to to thoroughly enjoy and understand this particular story, but when I read that epilogue I decided I HAVE to go back and read the other stories because I loved seeing the way characters from those stories played roles in this story (again, you don't miss anything if you haven't read them). This story was so interesting that I want to explore the world even further. Highly recommended.

A standalone book that is part of the The Lost Boys (Five and Six books) that features a few characters from those books in this one.
Hating Them is a twistingly dark retelling of Cinderella with the horrible Stepmother but the Stepbrothers - Kylian & Levi are any but ugly. They are mixed up with their mother to evict Caroline (FMC) from her home (that the brothers inherited with her) by any means necessary. It kicks off a game of cat & mouse between all of them but as the book progressed the level of underhand tactics get darker. I really liked Caroline and how she stuck to her principles by refusing to let them get her out of her house and tried to beat them at their own game.
My word did Caroline, Levi, Kylian & Finn steam up my kindle!! Hot as hell. This was a great read and a great addition to the rest of the book in this series.
It starts as a story of hate and then turns into so much more. From the beginning I was sucked into the story. Levi is a gorgeous hunky prankster that is set in making Caroline’s life hell.
Kylian makes himself at home … as it is for them to share … but comes to try and legally make her life hell. There is no emotion in this man even if he is sexy as sin.
Then enters Fin … a knight in. Shining armor??? Or is there more to him being in the right place at the right time?
Caroline is tangled in a web she doesn’t understand and the men that are supposed to tighten the web end up falling for her.
A vindictive self centered step mom … tries to manipulate everyone and instead helps them build a story of growth and love.
There is heat and s-€xy times but there’s also a great story ….

Hating Them is the 3rd book in the Lost Boys series. This book focuses on Caroline, Neve's best friend, and her stepbrothers Kylian, Levi and Finn. When Caroline's father passes away, he leaves several properties to be shared by Caroline, Kylian and Levi, including the Key West house that Caroline grew up in. Kylian and Levi show up trying to drive Caroline out of the house per their mother's orders for reasons they don't know. Finn is brought in by his mother when she becomes impatient with the progress his brother's have made. With rising desires and undeniable chemistry, will Kylina, Levi and Finn continue to be their mother's puppet or will they give in to their desires and choose Caroline?.

This is a dark story with some entertaining aspects. The story is the third in the "Lost Boys" series but reads as a stand alone story. The plot is kind of a twisted Cinderella, with a touch of Snow White, story which includes taunting step brothers and an evil step mother. This step mother definitely takes evil to a whole new level. The plot is intriguing and interesting which makes for a very captivating read. Three brothers Levi, Kylian and Finn are expected to do their crazy mother's bidding. She thinks she should have received what her step daughter, Caroline inherited. The lengths this women goes to is crazy. This is a steamy erotic story with some good twists and turns, danger, suspense,
Hating Them is the sensual, mysterious, intriguing, third full-length book in the Lost Boys series by Poppy Flynn and Evie Rae. This dynamic author duo rocked my world again with another outstanding plot line with fascinating twists and several surprises! I am so happy that Caro finally got her story! The main characters—Caro, Finn, Kylian, and Levi—are each deeply thought out complex individuals. I love that Neve and her men have supporting roles, and I really enjoyed how the authors wove this tale with threads of B4, Five and Six mixed in. Though it could be read as a stand-alone, some of the plot elements definitely make more sense if you’ve read the other books first.

We are not done with the Lost Boys series as Evie Rae and Poppy Flynn gives us Caroline's story. Caroline was a side character in the first two books in that series and I really wanted to know more about her. Her story is dark and full of suspense as in the previous books but with a different vibe so it really is not a repeat of the other stories. The authors succeeded to create something really new. And the stepbrothers ? Each and everyone one of them is absolutely delicious. Killian stole my heart in the very first pages and I thought that was it, the others would only be "supporting actors" in my own little mind. Yep, I got that wrong : Finn and Levy are fantastic and my heart opened to them nicely.
I’ve read the other books in this mini series and Caroline has always been a side character who demanded the limelight. She’s sassy, sweet and strong while still being loyal and loving. I was therefore really exited to read her story and it didn’t disappoint. I liked the premise of the story and how confident Caroline is throughout. She knows herself and doesn’t doubt that. I enjoyed how the characters interact with each other, not only with Caroline but with her friends and with each other. The story was separate enough to feel like a different story even with the character links to the previous story. This was the perfect way to conclude the series and Caroline is amazing throughout but it’s lovely that she has her own book that is separate but connected.
If you’ve read Five and Six then you met Neve’s best friend Caroline. I’m a big fan of fairytale retellings and this is a mashup of Cinderella and Snow White with a whole lot of spice. Caroline was my type of heroine with a take what she wants attitude and certainly not a damsel in distress. The men in this story were secondary to Caroline. When Caroline’s father dies she’s left with a large inheritance that her evil stepmother feels entitled to. Her stepbrothers are recruited to take care of Caroline by their stepmother. However, things don’t always go as planned as the men switch sides. This was a great read with a lot of suspense. I loved that we saw characters from the previous books and that epilogue!!!! This was a 5 star read.
Neve (from the Neverland-inspired duology) had a friend, Caroline, and she is the female main character for this spin-off series. We had a tease of the dynamic of Caroline and her two stepbrothers from the other series.
Caroline's story didn't disappoint. It was interesting to watch the group form, though. Teresa (the stepmother to Caroline, and the guys' mother) is a piece of work. Which, is the bad guy doing their job if they don't irk you?
There are a couple of instances where clothing is removed after already being removed, or people suddenly appearing/moving to where they already were.
Ignoring logistics and choreography - it's a good read.

Hating Them is the last book in the Lost Boys trilogy. Like Five Sinful Saviors and Six Dark Defenders, it is a reverse harem romance that combines attraction turning to real feelings with steamy sexy times as well as suspense. The underlying tension is subtle but palpable and will have the hairs standing up on your neck! While it stands completely on its own, we do get to meet up with all the characters from the previous books and there's a wonderfully emotional epilogue to end the series. I was lucky to have received an advanced copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
When her three evil stepbrothers move into the house her father left her, Caroline can't help but hate them and their endless pranks. Their mother wants the house, and Kill, Finn and Levi plan to deliver it to her. This is a spin off from Five and Six, The Lost Boys duo. This forbidden why choose romance is full of delicious spice and darkness. I loved feisty Caroline almost as much as I hated Therese. The book is well written, which given the authors, is not unexpected. It's a good read, and well worth the one click.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Caroline is a force of nature - sunny, sassy, and unbeknownst to her, in serious hot water. Her stepmother is out to get her and evict her from her beach house, her stepbrothers are harassing her, and the sexy saviour who makes her swoon isn’t who he appears. I loved Caro as a character, and her book was red-hot and exciting. It was great seeing Neve and her crew again (I highly recommend reading those books first, they’ll make the surprise ending of this one so much more satisfying). Kylian, Levi and Finn were equal parts bad boys and softies, and I enjoyed watching them topple one by one. Such an amazing read.
I just finished reading "Hating Them," the third book in the "Lost Boys" series by Poppy Flynn and Evie Rae, and let me tell you, these two authors have nailed it. The book is packed with suspense, drama, laughter, and heat, and I loved every minute of it. The revelation about Finn's true nature was downright mind-blowing, and it made me realize that the line between love and hate is thinner than we think. In my opinion, it's a taboo subject that deserves more attention. This book is a standalone, but it also ties in perfectly with the previous two books, making it a fantastic addition to the series.
I'm completely and utterly gobsmacked. This was a work of art. I suspected after the ball that Finn was from the island. But I never came close to who he truly is. I felt bad for Levi and Kylian because they were victims of Teresa as well. My heart went out to Caroline. I know what it's like to lose your dad that you're close to. And be searching for love Someone to Love you. I literally cried for the last like 20 minutes of the book I was so happy. But I'm sad that it's over because I enjoyed it so much.

Caroline inherited her father's beach house when he passed away. The wicked stepmother sends her sons Levi, Kylian, and Finn to get Caroline to leave the beach house. The guys pull some great pranks on her but I loved Caroline's sassy behavior. She gives as good as she gets. The stepbrothers are delectable. It's a fun story with some mystery, laughs, and plenty of steam. Will the sons help their mother? Will they cut ties with Mom and stay with Caroline for love? Read and find out.

Although the character of Caroline has featured in previous books by these authors as a side character, this is very much her story, based loosely on the wicked stepmother idea. The storyline was interesting and kept me reading for this HEA, standalone read. However, I just didn't like any of the characters enough. Yes, by about midway I quite liked Caroline and her sunshiney-ness but for most of the story I found nothing likeable about any of them. There were instances, and things did happen with the characters that I did like, but overall this story just doesn't do it for me.
I am not one for mafia or cartel stories - at all! However, in being true and fair to this book, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book. It kept me riveted and intrigued the entire time! I didn't know who was going to be a villain or a hero. I wasn't sure there'd be an HEA, and if there was one, what that would entail. It was by far worth my time!.

While I enjoyed parts of this story, I honestly struggled to like Kill, Finn or Levi for that matter. Their so called pranks were nothing but their immaturity at its absolute finest. How any woman can fall for not one but three immature men is beyond me. They truly must think with their ovaries. The actual storyline itself was interesting if the characters didn’t act like immature children. I received an ARC copy.
