An overshadowed brother in a wheelchair and a beautiful woman who needs something from him. Is there any chance for love?

Next to his super successful (and handsome, don’t forget handsome) rock star brother, Dylan Sinclair doesn’t expect any woman to look at him for a second longer than it takes to stare in horror at his wheelchair. Especially not a goddess like Stephanie Rowe.

But she does notice him and he can’t help but wonder if it’s because of the access he could give her to his brother.

Stephanie is a woman on a mission. She has a lot to prove to break out of a soul-crushing job and show her family she can be successful on her own terms. Even as she realizes there’s more to Dylan than meets the eye, she can’t get distracted from building a life her parents can be proud of.

And falling for an unemployed white boy who can’t move his own feet is not winning her any points.

But then she discovers Dylan has been keeping a secret that would catapult her to success and everything she’s been working towards . Now all she needs to do is betray his trust.

Writing What I Want To Read Since 1996.

After years of combing through the dusty back shelves of libraries looking for her elusive, imperfect hero, she started writing her own.

Ruth’s romantic tales are full of wounded heroes: men physically challenged by life, but not defeated. These men overcome the difficulties of amputation, paralysis, or cerebral palsy to find acceptance, happiness, and heroines who love them exactly as they are.

This is a different kind of romance, so real and original. Stephanie is African-American and Dylan has spina bifida. It's so refreshing to read a romance with more diverse characters, who are also portrayed with nuance and sensitivity.

Stephanie meets Dylan while trying to find content for her YouTube channel, a side hustle she's trying to make into a real career. Dylan's brother David is a rock star, but Dylan seems content to hide in the shadows. Everyone assumes Stephanie is using Dylan to get to David so she can put him on her YouTube channel. Of course our sweet girl is not doing that, but there's much more going on here than meets the eye. There were some great plot twists I didn't see coming at all.

The way Stephanie and Dylan come together is so endearing, very gradually opening up and learning to trust the other person. Stephanie's experience with casual racism gives her insight into the ableism that Dylan faces. But she doesn't simply "save" him. Instead, they both help each other to pursue their dreams, and isn't that what the best romance should be about?

In The World Between Us Ruth Martin gives us an inspiring story about two differently abled people that is a testament to love finding its own dynamic, boundaries, and shape. Stephanie Rowe has a 9 to 5 job but her passion is her YouTube channel covering all things music. When she meets a local music star, David Sinclair, she thinks she has an inside track to a story. However, she is more interested in Dylan, David's younger brother. Dylan was born with a severe case of spina bifida but his disability doesn't stop their attraction. But will the secret Dylan is carrying and the opposition they face derail their sweet love story? Will love find a way? Great story.

The World Between Us is Brilliant ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

I was blown away by how skillfully the ✍🏼 portrayed both the subtleties of the Black female experience & the challenges of physical disabilities. Either Ruth Madison has friends that are women of color , or she did her research exceptionally well🏆. Now this how you do representation, more 📚like this please!!!! Through the beautiful romance ♥️of sweet, charming Dylan & beautiful, kind, loving Stephanie, my 👀 were opened to what other people go through everyday and now I think differently, especially when I see people in 🦽. This is a first read for me by this author, I picked it up on a free deal promotion and I'm so glad I did. I like disability romances and normally Annabelle Costa is my go-to for those, but she sadly retired (sob) So I'm quite thrilled to find a new author to binge on.

The pluses- fast, easy read with engaging characters that hooked me right away.
the cons- sex not as descriptive as I would like and at times the FMC came off as incredibly selfish.
