Hope has been loving her summer vacation in Castleton, Maine with her friends. There’s just one little snag, and her name is Saylor Madigan, the former actress turned writer and podcaster that Hope had a massive crush on when she was younger. Hope’s only goal is to get Saylor to agree to let Hope ghostwrite her memoir. The first time she dares to approach Saylor, things go badly. Very badly. But Hope isn’t the kind of woman who gives up that easily.
All Saylor wants to do is hang out in a small town where people don’t care so much who she is, and so far, Castleton has fit the bill. That is, until an adorable woman approaches her in the bar and wants to help Saylor write a memoir, something she absolutely does NOT want to do. Still, Hope is persistent and there’s something about her unfailing optimism that Saylor just can’t get enough of. That attraction lands Saylor in Hope’s bed one night, much to both of their shock.
Sex is a complication that neither of them need, but they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other, so they agree not to let themselves get carried away again.
That turns out to be a promise that neither of them can keep.

When Hope first meets Saylor, she sees the former actress as a career opportunity. When Saylor first meets Hope, she sees her as an attractive nuisance. A few more chance encounters and an unexpected steamy night might just change both their perspectives.

Not a Chance is a cute, funny, and touching grumpy/sunshine romance. Hope’s cheerful charm is no match for the icy walls Saylor hides behind to protect herself, and the results are sweet, surprising, and a little spicy. Chelsea M. Cameron is an expert at intertwining the emotional and physical attraction between characters, but this story showcases that skill even better than many of her previous ones. This is particularly impressive for such a short book.

With a return to the adorably queer beach town of Castleton Maine and plenty of fun glimpses at characters from the previous two books, Not a Chance is a satisfying conclusion to the Love in Vacationland series.

4 stars. Prickly former child star turned author Saylor is on vacation where she meets Hope. The two get off on the wrong foot as Saylor is rude to Hope. I’d been waiting to get to this one and it did not disappoint. Hope really lives up to her name. She’s all sunshine and bubbly and I adore her. She really meshed well with Saylor’s more stand off personality. I loved them together and this was just such a sweet romance. These three books have been my favorite things I’ve read from Cameron hands down. They’re light and fluffy (book two has the most drama and angst and even then it’s not unbearable) and I could definitely see myself reading these again when I need a pick me up.

Not A Chance is a low-angst addition to the Love in VacationLand series. Hope and Saylor circle each other warily for a while until discovering that they are very compatible sexually. The rest comes later. The story is a little rushed and all too brief. The supporting cast includes several women that we have met before from this and other series. This is an enjoyable read with the anticipated HEA.

A Beautiful Ending To Love In Vacationland

But far too short! And on top of that, I’d have loved to learn how Hope and Saylor made it all work.

This was a fun quick read if you’re looking for something short for an evening.

Hope’s Story

While I have enjoyed all the books in this series, this one was my absolute favorite. I would love if there was another story about Hope and Saylor because their story was incredibly interesting and so cute. Another fantastic book by Chelsea M Cameron

Hopefully Yours

Hope has extended her stay at the beach and sharing the cottage with her best friend Colette. She runs into Saylor Madigan again and they develop a friendship and agree to a summer fling. A chance to have a summer to remember or could it be more. Sweet romance.
