I'm so glad I kept reading this series as I enjoyed this volume a lot more than the first!
A lot of the issues I had in the first volume were addressed in this one in the sense that Anne's decisions were fueled with her mother in mind. Would her mother want Anne to buy a fairy slave just so she can have a bodyguard and enter the Royal Candy Fair in honor of her? No, I definitely think she wouldn't, but this volume really showed how loneliness and being alone really drove Anne's actions. Not justifying her actions as to why she did what she did, but I didn't dislike Anne nearly as much as I did either. She is a young woman who definitely didn't make a good decision, but I'm thankful for the chance to see that she is not this overly bright character who naively continues to justify her own actions over and over with no character growth. She definitely was a much more engaging character in this volume because of seeing the reason behind her struggles and justification.
Because of this, it resulted in me feeling a genuine connection with Anne as well as celebrating the fact that she wants to pursue her passion of candy crafting not for the sake of her mother, but for herself. It was very touching and very beautiful. I definitely feel it was a moment (well, momentS) that I personally needed to see in order to keep reading this series because I'm not sure I would have continued otherwise.
I wouldn't say I LOVE this series, but I think it is continuing to hook me more and more because I find myself more invested in Anne's overall journey. I really liked the new character that she met as well as her growing relationship with the fairies by her side. I did NOT however like Jonas and hope we never see him again. :p
Overall, this was a much more enjoyable volume than the first and really look forward to the next volume releasing! I have a feeling things are only going to get more interesting! (Also the attention of detail to the candies makes me SO hungry, so next time I will prepare to eat while reading or eat before reading. LOL!)

Diebstahl ! Sabotage ! Wer hat Annes Silberzucker gestohlen und sie in ihrem Plan weit zurückgeworfen ? Zwar kann sie neuen herstellen, aber wird sie es in der kurzen Zeit, die ihr noch bleibt, es auch schaffen ? Zumal auch noch andere Gefahren drohen, aber auf Challe ist Verlass...oder ?
Vorwort:
"Sugar Apple Fairy Tale 02" ist der zweite Band der gleichnamigen Reihe von Miri Mikawa. Es umfasst ca. 200 Seiten und ist als Taschenbuch, sowie e-book bei Altraverse erhältlich.
Meine Meinung:
Nachdem mir der erste Band dieser Reihe ganz gut gefiel, mich aber nicht völlig umhaute, war ich sehr gespannt, wie sie sich entwickeln würde. Durch die letzten Ereignisse gab es einen kleinen fiesen Cliffhanger, der einige neue Optionen bereit hielt und ich bekam richtig Lust auf die Fortsetzung, die mir dann auch super gefiel.
Die Geschichte war wesentlich spannender, tempo- und abwechslungsreicher als der Vorgänger, was der Storyline richtig gut tat. Man bekam mehr Einblicke in die Welt der Feen, ihre Beziehung zu den Menschen und was es mit diesem Zuckerwettbewerb auf sich hatte, der zuvor nur angeschnitten wurde. Die Wendungen fand ich gelungen und bauten neue Spannung auf, da man durchaus mit Anne mit fieberte, die es nun wirklich nicht leicht hatte. Aber gerade in solchen Situationen sah man, was für eine Stärke sie besaß und sich nicht unterkriegen ließ. Es tauchten neue Verbündete, sowie Feinde auf und obwohl mich die Aktion einer Figur irgendwie kalt erwischte, dachte ich mir bereits vorher, dass da etwas nicht mit rechten Dingen laufen kann. Das Ende kam ohne Cliffhanger aus, macht aber auf die weiteren Bände neugierig.
Den Zeichenstil von Mikawa mochte ich wieder sehr gerne und es war schön, dass sie an großen "Entgleisungen" in der Mimik sparte und man dennoch wusste, was die Figuren fühlten. Ich fand ihre Welt richtig klasse gezeichnet und es machte Spaß, die kleinen Details zu entdecken.
Fazit:
Eine tolle Fortsetzung, die einen tiefer in die Welt von Anne und der Feen reinzieht und immer wieder kleine Informationshappen liefert, die neugierig auf den weiteren Verlauf der Geschichte machen. Die Wendungen passten super rein und sorgten für das Tempo, was ich zuvor vermisste. Durch die neuen Ereignisse freue ich mich auf die weiteren Bände und von mir gibt es:

Super cute!
It's a sweet story with charming characters. Some interesting choices for the story we're made but I don't hate the developments. Well worth the read, looking forward to the next volume when it's finally out... Might read the novels in the meantime.

Damn Jonas turned dark real quick 😅

Mir hat der Folgeband tatsächlich besser gefallen als der erste, hier passiert einiges und man bekommt endlich die wundervollen Zuckerwerke zu sehen.
Anne lernt dazu und wirkt deutlich erwachsener als in Band 1 und neben ihr haben auch andere Charaktere ihren großen Moment.
Es ist weiterhin schön gezeichnet, besonders die Feen, und man lernt noch etwas mehr Hintergründe über die Welt (z.B. wie eine Fee geboren wird).
Insgesamt ist das Tempo der Serie recht schnell, man hätte den Weg zur Hauptstadt durchaus noch etwas hinauszögern können um mehr Zeit mit den Charakteren zu verbringen, aber mir gefällt die Serie trotzdem sehr.

Alright, I'll take back what I said about Anne in the last review because the circumstances change... a lot. I can't really say anything without it being a spoiler, but just know it's all good things in terms of plot and character development.
But the best thing to happen is the introduction of a new character near the end. I've only known him for a chapter, but he's now my favorite.
This series has 4 volumes.

did we all just forget she's 15 (ㅠ﹏ㅠ) unfortunately it is def developing into a romance with challe. cute, but I am just not into the age diff, so this will probably be my last volume of the series. also the candy competition thing was cool, but how infuriating is that judge who could obviously tell the guy didn't make the candy?? argg
