About the author

Daisy Meadows is the pseudonym used for the four writers of the Rainbow Magic children's series: Narinder Dhami, Sue Bentley, Linda Chapman, and Sue Mongredien. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.

Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.

Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.

Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.

Sue Mongredien was born in 1970 and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She has also contributed many titles to the Sleepover Club series and written picture books. Mongredien created the Royal Ballet School Diaries under the pen name Alexandra Moss. She lives with her family in Bath, England.

I don’t think that this was a bad book by any means, it was just so uninteresting. The highlight of the book for me personally was when Jack Frost was interviewing himself because obviously it’s funny, but it’s also so painfully in character of him that even Alexa was laughing her ass off. (Him marching around like he owned the place as if he doesn’t look like nightmare-fuel Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz is one of the top ten most delusional moments he’s had throughout the series.)

There were two main consequences of the missing item that were highlighted. The first one is that Jack Frost basically gets to influence not only trends, but also style choices. The second is that all of this makes it harder for actual fashion reporters to do their jobs, like Nicki with her string of bad luck. I think that the missing item and its consequences definitely worked better here than in Tyra’s book, but at least that book was somewhat entertaining. (I did not expect something so boring from Narinder Dhami, I usually love their ghostwritten books.)

Last thing I promise. Alexa’s design is so ugly! The dress is cute in theory, but it clashes horrendously with the yellow of her shoes and purse. The shoes are also awful, but her purse is really cute, I just wish it went with her dress. And I don’t talk about the weird knee-socks, I mean, I already hate vertical stripes and these just look so bad. (I should’ve designed her.)

In this book there are two girls one is named Kirsty and the other is named Rachel they are even best friends! One day they were working on their own fashion magazine, Rachel’s dad was sitting near by them reading his newspaper. Suddenly Rachel’s dad showed them some ice blue clothes created by Jack Frost! The clothes were very strange. Then all of sudden there appeared a sparkling fairy! She was small so she landed right into their hands! It’s Alexa, the fashion reporter fairy whispered Rachel. Alexa told them that her magic pen was taken by Jack Frost and his goblins and Alexa really needs her pen back because Jack Frost is using the magic of Alexa’s special pen to make everyone like his strange ice blue clothes. Alexa wants her pen back so she could make people people know about different kind of fashion. Dad yelled Rachel can we go to the market for a little while? Rachel’s dad nodded. When they got to the market Rachel saw her school friend we could maybe interview my school friend Rachel said. So she went to ask her what fashion designs she liked most just ice blue she said our whole family even likes ice blue! The two girls were shocked. Will they be able to get Alexa’s pen back and let people know about different kinds of fashion, or before they can find the magic pen everyone would be wearing Jack Frost’s clothes? Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

It’s about two girls named Kirsty and Rachel helping Alexa. Alexa is a fairy who loves fashion but Jack Frost stole ONE magical object. The magic object is the magical reporting pen. My favorite part of this book is when Kirsty and Rachel helped get the magical pen back for Alexa because it was happy to me.

I think this book is great! It's weird that a goblin didn't follow Jack Frosts instuructions. What the goblin did instead was report peoples clothes.

7 magical objects. The girls just got the fourth from Jack Frost who has a fashion line called "Ice Blue".
Grades 1-3 girls love these.
