Long, Christopher E. Tyr (2011). This book is a part of a series, Short Tales – Norse Myths. This is a basic and simple story about Tyr, the “bravest and boldest of the Norse gods.” He only fought for honor and justice. He had to fight against Fenrir, a fierce wolf monster, who planned to destroy Odin. Fenrir was very strong and powerful, but not very smart. Tyr and other gods tricked Fenrir with a magic rope and conquered him. The myth is very simply told and would be more interesting if it included more details. The illustrations are bold and dynamic and definitely add to the story. Target audience: ages 7-10.
This is a volume from the "Short Tales-Norse Myths" series, Magic Wagon Books, Abdo, c2011. The prime audience is ages 8 and up, grades 3 and up. Price is 16.24.
