THOUGHTS
Wow, this book was crazy and full of drama with a bit more crazy thrown in. This was not your typical romance novel with a happily ever after ending. For this book, the reviews for some sites are at least five hundred, and with others over a hundred. For most readers they either love the book or dislike the book, and I can relate to both sides with their views about this book. Also, Jay's character is from previous book by the author.
The book started out on a high note for me as I was reading along. I liked what both authors did by giving us each characters view pointed in telling the story. The first scene started out nice, with us getting to know Jay. Some of his thoughts were really funny as well as his introduction to Ashlee. By the second chapter Ashlee's thoughts and questions to herself gave you a sense of her craziness to come throughout the book. While Ashlee and Jay were getting to know each other, the story fizzled a little for me, however, with the twist and introduction of Tracy, definitely got me perky again. What followed next was a bundle of crazy, mixed with insanity. Ashlee went from jealous girlfriend, to insanely crazy and deadly ex.
I thought Jay, was so easily swayed throughout this book and that is what gets him in trouble and becomes his down fall. It annoyed me that the authors kept referring to the size of Jay's package. Pleasing to hear once or twice, ten times not hot anymore. The ending felt like you were left with a cliffhanger, but the events that took place was interesting.
As for Ashlee, you can't argue, reason or talk to crazy. It's unbelievable the lengths she goes to in this book.
Story: Fair to Good Intimacy: D.R.I.P (Don’t Read In Public) / GOOD Enjoyment: Fair to Good
Oh this book was off this chain, Ashley is super crazy but FYI before you read this book you must Read Carl Weber's Married Men and Mary B Morrison's series starting from Soul Mates Dissapates. The reason why is because they both put characters in this book that r from their previous books, also you will not understand why people act a certain way nor will you understand how they got to that point. This book is awesome.
I will say this novel helped to place my faith back into Carl Weber, because he step out of his character a little with this, and I like that. It also open my eyes to Mary B. style and writing. I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. The ending has me looking for the squel to this one for Carl Weber, and I'll research Mary B. to make sure I'll start at the beginning of this series.
The book is for adults because of it's theme, and issues, which involves, kiddnapping, rape, lots of sex, and one crazy chick!
Both writers did a good job with their characters. -It shows the truth about how men really don't have a chance in hell against women, unless she's weak.......food for thought.
All in all, it's a good read, it did take me a while to get through it, but I'll blame that on me not having the time to be still long enough to do so.
I read this book in one day, surprisingly I think I was more intrigued with the way Ashlee went from being a mild mannered woman to a crazy and deranged woman. Jay didn't stand a chance and he was so sex crazy that his mind was blown away because his ego got the best of him once he realized he had hit that thang the "G-spot" blowing Ashlee's mind he was done. She could have done anything and this nut would have gone for it, which is what happen and he ending up losing everything in the end.
A lot of sex going on — is not what a single sista need when she is all alone and without anyone to release all of that goings on that she is reading!
I expected more from both authors and perhaps the collaboration is what threw their normal mojo off. Page after page consisted of more sex than meaningful conversation and I was ready to burn the book when the antagonist/she-devil threw another female off the cruise ship with absolutely no repercussion. The clincher for me was the antagonist asking her lover to give her another g-spot orgasm. So the next time you're in the mood, ask your lover using those exact words, "Can you give me a g-spot orgasm?" Awkward!
I've given this novel a 4 star rating but it's more like 3.5. The book is well written and interesting, but the ending was subpar and unrealistic, in my opinion, there the book left me unsatisfied. And I wasn't pleased when I finished it. So it felt like a real waste of my time. I also think people should read "Darius Jones" by Morrison before reading this book. "She Ain't the One" gives away too much of that story without telling readers they're connected. Really frustrating.
I don't even know where to start about this read but Carl Weber and Mary B did their thing. Jay went from being a player to trying to settle down too quick. Ashlee truly took being crazy to an all new level. The lengths she decided to go to keep a man was beyond crazy. There were so many signs that Jay neglected. I wasn't sure how much more he had to deal with before realizing Ashlee wasn't too stable. A lot of red flags should've gone up after meeting Ashlee's mother. Tracy was cool but at one point I felt like she might have a hidden motive. Then the way she so easily believed any lie Ashlee told spoke volumes. That last scene proved just how crazy Ashlee could get when things didn't go her way. I bet Jay wished he had thought more on the situation before agreeing with Ashlee's requests. It's messed up how easily one can lie to destroy ones life because they no longer want them. Better yet I was trying to understand why no one who had dealt with Ashlee didn't speak on her condition. No matter how many things occurred, Ashlee only proved she ain't the one and probably never will be.
This book was wild. This was a great collabo with Carl Weber and Mary Morrison. I remember the character Ashlee from another book by Mary Morrison. Ashlee was a truly insane woman. I can't say I like the ending because I was hoping Jay would survive Ashlee's craziness. This is one time I'm looking forward to a sequel. Maybe these two will team up again to deliver one.
Oh my Goodness.... What a passionate, twisted, backstabbing psychological thriller. Phenomenal. The written techniques were unbelievably great. This book capatived my immediate attention from the first sentence to the very ending. The creative struggled with each character was overflowing with excitement and rich details.
I felt myself very emotional intrigued and compassionate for Jay and worried about his and his family safety because of Aslee instability and violent crimes against anyone and everyone around Jay.
The perfect ending to a pure evil woman, Aslee Anderson, a psycho, with a deranged mind, who was determined to ruin Jay Crawford and everyone around him lives. 😮🙁😕🙄. I am utterly speechless as to the length that Aslee when to to make sure that Jay suffered just because he actually loved her.
This book was amazing from the beginning to the end. It left me searching at the end of the book for details on a sequel. When I first purchased the book, I was trying to figure out how two authors would write a book such as this one. I still dont know which author had what voice but its an amazing book either way. My favorite part was when Ashlee tried to make it seem like darius raped her. I would reccomend it to all of my friends. Throught the story, Ashlee was obsessed with Jay. When he met her he felt a strong attraction. They dated and spent alot of time together. But when he bumps into his ex that he has been searching for, he finds that she had his child. He starts becoming a father figure in his life and starts picturing himself with her again, hopeing that they could be a happy family and make things right. He does everything to get her back and eventually they get back together, leaving Ashlee alone and hurt. She kidnaps their child hopeing it would change things, or make the mother, Tracy, leave Jay so that she could be with him again.
This was a wonderful book. Ashlee is one crazy bitch, and I don't use that word that often! I didn't see the end comming at all and was very shocked. I cant wait until they make the second part. At least that's what I think they hiunted at in the end when Jay said "He Aint the One" I hope Ashlee gets everything that comming to her. I will say I was very disappointed that Tracy didn't have more faith in Jay than she did. This book teaches a good lesson that sometimes you should look and not touch. If Jay would have thought with his head a little more than his smaller head he would have picked up on all the warning signs!
Chile this book was off the chain Ashlee Is off the chain .... and funny. if men are such a problem why not just stop dating all together .... Jay definitely wasn’t a player because a real player won’t lie or play games ....... he couldn’t be there for his own kids but jumped up to help raise the new one .... Both characters pissed me off only person that had common sense In this book were Ashlee’s dad & Kyle
Incredibly entertaining, but the most poorly written one I’ve ever read by Weber. A lot of it was repeating, some very corny parts—like the terrible attempt at poetry at the end, and the ending was all mish mashed together and rushed through.
This book identified toxic relationships at its best. It highlighted how sex could only take you so far in a REALationships. I was annoyed that they fell in “love” so fast. Jay and Ashlee were in Lust but it quickly turned crazy. The book was amazing

This one was OK for me because I usually expect his books to be a lot more funnier than this one was. Plus I was upset with the ending… I didn't think it should have ended like that.
One of the most bomb books ever. Anyone can write, but not everyone can tell a story. These two authors can surely tell a story frontward and backward. I loved it.
This was a wild ass roller coaster. I got off "the ride" over an hour ago and I'm still reeling. I'm riled up forreal. Lol. This book was HOT. I appreciate all the sex scenes. Definitely a fun escape. I was leaning toward giving the book 4 stars because I wasn't happy with the ending, but that's a personal preference and not so much a knock on the book. Is there a sequel, so we can see the revenge carried out? I'm invested! I'd love for another book to detail how things shook out afterward. I'd also love to read a book on Ashlee's Mama! She was a character... Or even Ashlee's ex, Darius. Maybe even a book on Ashlee's son, or Jay's son. There are so many possibilities.
This is a book that I couldn't put down. It's a book where I laughed out loud at multiple points. It's a book where I had to talk back to the page, in disgust, in anxiety, in anticipation for the worst. Baby, it was a hell of a ride. Hop on. Buckle in. Well done, Carl Weber and Mary B. Morrison. Y'all make a great team. Definitely consider Part II if it hasn't already been written. An added treat: Carl Weber is an HBCU alum and Mary B. Morrison is from Oakland, Calif. Maybe this is why the book resonated with me so much!
I wasn't expecting a fatal Attraction kind of a story. What I thought was two lovers coming together ended up being an entanglement of Lost feelings and love. It was both shocking, intense, suspenseful, intro shocking. Almost feel that there should be a part two to the story so we can see the crazy derange female come down. Coming from a woman's perspective I can feel her pain but she totally lost control it needs more than therapy. Thank you for sharing with us amazing story! I'm rushing with these reviews now but I'm trying.
This just goes to show you that men can be naive too. Jay's poor judgement led him to fall into Ashlee's trap. He ended up in a messed up situation. As for Ashlee, that b***h needs more than a stray jacket with her looney self!
This was a suspenseful fictional story and I loved it. I knew that Ashlee was to good to be true and I didn’t know how but something was going to happen. I loved the story. It could have been a little more intense and more story.
I've never read anything by Mary B. Morrison before and loved it. I decided to start the soulmates dissipate series after reading this. Jay and Ashlee... Hot!
