“She’d entered the danger zone where trust and insecurity battled for ownership of her mind.”

I absolutely love romantic suspense. In fact, it’s one of the very first genres I read and one that got me completely hooked onto reading. There was absolutely no question of me NOT reading this book when I saw it was romantic suspense so of course, I gobbled it up in one sitting. While this book was certainly an attention-grabber, I felt like it was lacking…intensity. You know, the kind that makes you want to clutch your heart or makes you agonize over a character's decisions.

Mind you, I could barely put it down. It held me enough to read it straight on, but it wasn’t a book where the story and characters stayed with me.

So what’s this book about, hmm? I think I’ll let Lacey do the honors.

“I am totally pissed off. I have a headache from hell. My business was robbed. My dad’s been missing for four days and no one can find him. And now, you’re here. What the hell else can go wrong?”

In other words, Lacey’s life in a nutshell. She is on her way to meet her father, Bill, and his girlfriend Mona, expecting an engagement but instead, receives the word that her father is missing. Caleb Mansfield, her father’s former protégée, shows up in town to help find him. The catch here is that Caleb is her former lover and the heartbreaker, which makes Lacey feel even more annoyed and hurt. Yep, lots of water under the bridge. *ruh-roh*

“You knew I’d fallen for you. I thought we had something special, something real. He said no and you stood there and watched it happen. You let it happen. That’s a fact. Lie to me again and I’m out of here.”

“I didn’t challenge him because I’m the one who asked him to do it.”

“Nice. If that’s what you do to people you’re crazy about, I feel sorry for your enemies.”

Despite her trepidation and fears of insecurity, Lacey realizes that she needs Caleb, needs his help and support. For all the wrongs and misunderstandings between them, their love for Bill overshadowed their personal feelings. Time was running out, and it wasn’t on their side.

“I didn’t want him to be involved, you know. But I’m running out of options. I’m losing my dad, Caleb. I can feel it.”

The suspense aspect was decent. Around 20% or so, one of the perpetrators is revealed so it was all the matter of whether or not Lacey and Caleb could find her dad. I did enjoy the multiple POVs, not just of Lacey or Caleb, but the ones with the 'bad guys' and the detectives. Gives the book a full accounting of the events as they unfold and really adds depth to the plot.

The ending was a bit rushed, but it didn’t derail me from enjoying the story.

4 STARS!!!

🅼🆈 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆:

This one was primarily a thriller kind of ride with suspense sprinkled in and also amidst it, old lovers finding their way to each other and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this ride.

Right from the start we dive straight into the disappearance of Lacey's father, who just seems to be gone without a trace. Immediately Lacey begins to feel something is terribly wrong but it's not until her father doesn't return at all, that the little hope she was holding onto goes away.

Amidst all this, Caleb is back after being away for eight years and it feels good to be back at the Biotech Headquarters.

When he receives an unusual letter from his mentor, he's surprised to find the major reveal for a research by his mentor.

What Caleb is shocked to find the very same day is his mentor going missing and there's a working colleague that primarily raises the red flag with his tantrums of having his ideas not being accepted.

Caleb and Lacey begin the relentless search for Bill but what they didn't anticipate was these closely working conditions sparking the past flames once again between them.

Caleb and Lacey have undeniably crazy chemistry and I was here for it.
I could feel how much unresolved issues and also emotions are still underlying there between them and really they just made me want them together again.

The suspense angle definitely kept me engrossed as we got closer and closer but still couldn't nab the main player.

I definitely had my suspicions but I have to say the author kept me on my toes by confusing me who could be behind it all.

Also, Lacey helping out Sam the way she does... Ahhh... Absolutely had my heart .

I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next one in this series. Loved this one.❤️❤️

Lacey Jordan had a feeling all day that something was going to happen, but she flipped the closed sign with a huge smile on her face. It was nice to have been wrong.

After leaving the flower shop that she and her best friend Paige owned she headed for her dad's farm. She was hoping that tonight was the night he finally asked Mona to marry him. She was happy he finally found someone to love again.

When she stepped in the back door she noticed that the table was set for four, but no trace of her father. She was relieved when she heard movement while she was upstairs, but it was only Mona finalizing the food.

Her father was missing.

Caleb Mansfield had spent the majority of his time the last few years abroad meeting with clients and making sure European regulations were met for BioTech Corporation, but he was finally back home in Chicago.

As he was walking to the elevator the receptionist welcomed him back and said that a package was waiting for him on his desk. He smiled when he saw the package was from his mentor Bill Jordan. It had been months since they had last spoken, but as soon as he heard he was missing he hopped on the first flight.

Considering what Bill had sent him Caleb knew that this wasn't a normal disappearance. He was in danger.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first book I have read by Michelle Gray and I am hooked.

This second chance romantic suspense is full of danger, intrigue and is steamy hot. Lacey doesn't have a good track record in the man department and when Caleb shows up to help find her dad she doesn't know whether to trust the man who left her brokenhearted years before.

Highly recommend. Can't wait to read the rest of this series!

"You were made to see and believe in the good in people. That's part of who you are, but sometimes our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness. Believing in others, trusting others, can open you up for heartache." -Bill, Lacey's dad

This book had such a great combination of romance and suspense. As I read the book, I thought I knew exactly who was behind the kidnapping and everything that happened. But boy was I wrong! I love it when books navigate you a certain way to then flip the story a different direction and leave you open mouthed and wide eyed. My favorite parts in the book were definitely the interactions between Lacey and Caleb. It was fun getting to see them rekindle their love and how each event only brought them closer together.

Lacey: I loved how caring and generous she is. Despite being faced with tragedy, she was able to put what she was going through aside and was there for those who needed her. Throughout the book we see her character develop from a woman who was struggling to even decide what she really wanted to do in life into a woman who knew what she wanted and was determined to get it at all costs. Her love and commitment to others made me like her even more.

Caleb: I loved learning about his past and how he became the man he is. Just like Lacey, he's such a caring guy who works countless hours to provide for his siblings. As a result of working 24/7, he distant himself from those he loves including Lacey. Everything he did was to protect those he loves, such as leaving Lacey all those years ago. He felt that she deserved more than what he would be able to provide for her at the time. What also made me love this guy was how loyal and protective he is of those closest to him.

Overall I really enjoyed this wonderful debut novel. I am so excited for Rachel's book. I'm so glad she's getting a book; from what we read about her in this book she totally deserves one. From the excerpt I read of it, I can tell it will be just as great as this one. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

"You were made to see and believe in the good in people. That's part of who you are, but sometimes our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness. Believing in others, trusting others, can open you up for heartache."

When Lacey Jordan father goes missing, she is reunite with her former lover Caleb Mansfield the person who broke her heart six years ago, and someone she doesn’t want to see, and doesn’t trust. As much as she hates to admit she soon realises that Caleb maybe the only person who can really help her find her father.

Lacey was feisty, and independent not afraid to say what she is thinking. She would do anything it took to save her father even risking her own life. Caleb was strong-minded, and caring he would do whatever it took to get Lacey to see that she could trust him again and help her find her father.

Dangerous Ally was romantic suspense novel that I read in one sitting. The suspense aspect of the storyline and it's twist and turns definitely kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next. The romance aspect had me smiling many times.

I liked Lacey, and Caleb even though they did frustrate me a few times with their choices. They definitely had plenty of chemistry, and you could see that they were still very much attracted to each other. Their relationship wasn’t always plain sailing. Lacey and quite rightly is suspicious of Caleb actions because of the history that they share

The story is mainly told from the POV of Lacey and Caleb; however, you get the POV of a few other characters, which was interesting sometimes this doesn’t work as it can get confusing, but I liked it as it gave you an insight into what the detectives and the people responsible for Lacey’s father disappearance were thinking.

Overall Dangerous Alley was an enjoyable read from the start. It was the first book I have read by Michelle Grey, and I will be checking out her other books. If you like books with some suspense, mystery, sexiness, romance and lets not forget second chance love then I would add this one to you TBR list.

I loved this 38 chapter book. It opened up with the mystery: where is Lacey’s dad? He’s missing from dinner and so is Spencer (her soon to be step-brother). Since he doesn’t like the man dating his mom, did Spencer kidnap him? Or did it have to do with BioTech? I liked that there was no clear cut answer right away–that upped the ante.

Lacey misses her dad and is nervous about the waiting game she has to play while the cops investigate. I couldn’t even imagine if a loved one went missing. Not knowing if they’re alive or dead. Not being offered a ransom to possibly get them back. In Chicago, Caleb hears about his career idol’s disappearance, so travels to Manhattan, Kansas to help out. I loved his and Lacey’s dynamic. They used to date six years ago; he broke her heart when he left, thinking it was for the best. The tension was interesting to read. She had to learn to trust Caleb again. I rooted for them to get back together (I’m a sucker for romance and second chances).

My favorite scenes: 1) Lacey helping Sam with the adoption process 2) the kidnappers holding Bill hostage 3) when Caleb first arrives to help 4) when Caleb asks Lacey what’s wrong in the hotel room

All throughout the book, I tried guessing who the culprit could be. The ending was awesome because I never expected that person. It was a cool reveal. The story was a fast read. The author was great with dialogue. I was invested in the characters’ dilemmas because the conversations were realistic and their body language helped paint the full picture.

I RECOMMEND this book to read.

I read this for Round Table Book Reviews

This is the story of Lacy Jordan. She helps run a florist & gift shop, with her best friend Paige.
Her father Bill Jordan is a top rate scientist.
When Jordan goes to her father’s for dinner one night, in the hope that he will announce his engagement to Mona, she is devastated to find that he has disappeared. As the hours go by Lacy has to come to terms with the fact that maybe it is her father’s research that is behind it.
Help arrives in the form of Caleb Mansfield. A man that Lacy hoped she would never see again, after their brief relationship years ago left her heart broken. Together they embark of a journey to discover who is behind her Father’s kidnap & their real feelings for each other.
I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow at the beginning, but it did pick up the pace & was a real guessing game as to who was the main man behind it all.
There was a lot of sexual chemistry between Lacy & Caleb, but they didn’t quite gel right for me. The other characters worked well.
This is still worth read.

Full disclosure, I know this author - but only a little bit and not enough to sway my review of Dangerous Ally. From the first sentence, it was clear that Michelle Grey is an excellent writer. Her characters and dialog are top-notch. The story begins with suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat (or chapter) all the way to the end. I found her level of detail a welcome surprise, as many romance novels fall short in that area, and even better, she didn't bog the reader down with useless facts or filler. Her main characters, Lacy and Caleb, have fantastic chemistry and things get pretty HOT between them on more than one occasion. Let me just say that I’m grateful to Ms. Grey for her very steamy scenes – you won’t be disappointed there!

If you’re looking for a good romantic suspense when you’re curled up in front of the fire, or anywhere for that matter, I’m happy to recommend this book to you. I look forward to reading Michelle’s next book this summer.

This is the first in a series, and this is Lacey and Caleb’s story.
Lacey finds her life is spiraling out of control with her father missing, and her ex who broke her heart 6-years ago arrives, demanding answers she cannot answer.
This is a good story which has family, friendships, emotions, trust, danger, suspense, intrigue, mystery, intrigue, insecurities, misunderstandings, revelations, second chances, twists and turns, romance, and love, which leads to a thrilling page turner.
The only downside for me was that the ending felt too rushed!
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

Though I’m not a fan of the genre (I would have preferred it if the heroine was herself a scientist, who’d gone on adventures that did not include much romance), but to my surprise I found the book to be interesting and well written, and I couldn’t stop myself from reading it into the night.

Much better than most of the popular contemporary reads out there.

I loved the story

Ms Grey is a talented writer. What I like most about her books is that she has so much going on. Super sub plots, interesting characters and always a mystery that keeps me turning pages. Not certain of the last in this series I hope it's Sam's story if not, I would love to read that one. But will probably read anything from this writer.

I received a free copy of this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

Well, that was surprising. I actually enjoyed this book. It's surprising because of that cover. I don't really know why I entered the giveaway for this book because I typically stray away from covers like this, but I'm glad I entered and won. This book just missed a 4 star review. There were too many errors and omissions, but they, thankfully, didn't distract from the flow of the book. For the most part, the errors were things like having an "s" missing from something or not finishing out the quotation marks around speech. That's one reason why I had to dock points. Proofread. Proofread. Proofread. I can't say that enough. The other reason that I had to dock points is because this book could have used someone to tighten up the story a little bit. Don't get me wrong -- the story was good. This book just felt unnecessarily lengthy and there were a lot of interactions that just didn't really matter to the plot.

Let's talk about that cover. It's your typical "check your brain in at the door" cover. Not only do I feel uncomfortable reading books with covers like this in public, but, if I hadn't won this book, I would have never bought it. That's an absolute SHAME because this book is WAY better than all of those assumptions that I had upon first seeing the cover. Yes, there are a couple of multiple-page sex scenes in this book, but they're not so over-the-top that I felt like I was reading some erotic novel. Far from that. The sex scenes didn't really seem to fit for this book. I realize that the book centers around Lacey and Caleb's romance, but the semi-descriptive sex scenes were unnecessary. Leave a little bit to the imagination. Looking at the cover, however, you're probably thinking that this is going to be a super cheesy romance with lots of sex scenes. Wrong. I could think of so many things that would suit the cover of this book so much better than that random guy. I didn't even imagine Caleb looking anything remotely like that guy on the cover, by the way. How about just a dark photo of the run-down, abandoned house that Bill was trapped in? Or what about something having to do with flowers because Lacey co-owned a flower shop? Here's a rough idea: A vase with some gorgeous flowers on a black background and a single dying flower drooping out of the vase. There are so many possibilities. I just don't get why authors and designers decide to go the route of slapping some eye candy on the cover of a book. The cover matters.

I would categorize this book as "romantic suspense." It had a little bit of everything, which was nice. Though the plot was formulaic, it kept me interested because I cared about Lacey and Caleb. I didn't so much care about the other characters, however. All of the other characters were kind of one dimensional, which was a bummer. I really wanted to know more about Lacey's father. Actually finding him at the end was kind of anticlimactic for me because 1) I knew it was going to happen and 2) I didn't really care that much about him. Perhaps the reader would have cared more had they gotten to know Bill through flashbacks from Lacey's memories. I don't know. I'm not a writer. I just felt like there was something missing in terms of character development with some of the other characters. The big reveal of the main kidnapper never came as a shock because I felt like I never got to know him. He was just some guy and it wasn't a big deal, though it was certainly a big deal for both Lacey and Caleb. I wanted to feel shocked with them, but I couldn't.

I'm very glad that both Caleb and Lacey came off as "real" people. A lot of times, authors will make their main characters so absolutely perfect that they just don't seem real. A reader can't connect with an absolutely perfect, flaw-free character. Just as a bit of an aside, one thing that bothered me was the fact that Caleb "growled" a lot. I get what the author was going for, but every single time I read that, I pictured a dog when Caleb "growled" while saying something. I get that the author was trying to make him sexy and whatever, but it was used way too many times throughout the book.

It was an interesting and entertaining ride following Caleb and Lacey around. While their relationship was pretty cheesy at times, it was, for the most part, genuine. It felt real and it was cute (although Lacey really needed to stop over-thinking everything). I smiled, I sighed, I grinned. The ending never felt rushed either, which was satisfying! This book took me a while to finish, but that's not because I couldn't get into it. I just had some other stuff going on over the past couple of weeks that kept me from reading in large chunks. I really wish I could have given a rating of more than 3 stars, but I just couldn't for the above mentioned flaws. Despite the minor flaws, this book is definitely worth reading!

Dangerous Ally
by Michelle Grey
4 Stars

I was given this book to read for a honest review. This book was def a slow start for me. But, once it picked up it def kept my attention.

The story begins with Lacey heading to her dad's house. Her father's house is empty except for his cell phone. Which is odd because they're suppose to have dinner there with her dad's girlfriend Mona. When her dad doesn't show up it's obvious he's been kidnapped.

The next day her dad's cell phone ring's and it's Caleb Mansfield. Lacey's ex-boyfriend & close friend of her father's. Her dad sent him the finished files of his work. Caleb learns that Bill Jordan is missing and gets on the 1st flight to help Lacey find her father.

The last thing Lacey wants is Caleb back in her life. He broke her heart years ago. Last thing Lacey wants or needs is the sexy Caleb back in her life. Unfortunately, she realizes rather quickly that Caleb knows more about her father's work then she does. Lacey agrees to let Caleb help her without letting him get to close.

Caleb realizes how much he loves Lacey. He also knows that he hurt Lacey very badly. Lacey doesn't trust him. And, he doesn't blame her. But, he'll do ANYTHING to win her trust & her back!!!

Lacey and Caleb learn quickly that her father's kidnapping is because of his work. And, that Lacey is at risk too. Caleb vows not to leave her side until her father is found & the kidnappers are behind bars. Lacey is def not liking the idea of Caleb being around 24/7.

We see as the story goes that there are a lot of people that work with Bill & Caleb that could be the kidnappers. But, you'll see that one by one every person you thought it could be.... Isn't. You'll also see Lacey at the worst, most scariest time in her life still staying strong. She starts helping Sam. Her employee at her store. Sam is pregnant and is scared. Lacey helps her weigh her options on having & raising her baby. Or finding a good family and giving her baby up for adoption.

What I really liked about this story was Caleb and Lacey's relationship. I loved how they still loved each other after all these years. And, no matter how hard Lacey fought the feelings for Caleb. Deep down she loved him. She just didn't trust him. But, she def keep's telling herself that she needs to learn to trust him. I really loved how caring and protective Caleb is of Lacey and everybody else he cares about. He gave Lacey all the help in the world that she needed. With giving her the space she needed to learn to trust him again.

I really wish the story with Sam would of had a actual ending. I felt like it was left open and not finished. For me, it really didn't have that much suspense to the story. It was more of a love story. But, it was a good story with a great ending. Michelle Grey's next book look's great as well.

"You were made to see and believe in the good in people. That's part of who you are, but sometimes our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness. Believing in others, trusting others, can open you up for heartache."

"It's the waiting I hate the most. I just want something to happen. Something we can act on."

"Pretty simple really. I thought we were in love. I was wrong. I thought we were going to spend our lives together. Wrong again. He left and that was it."

3 1/2 star read! The mystery was what made this a page turner!

When Lacey Jordan arrived at her father’s home for a regular dinner evening, she expected him to announce his engagement to the woman in his life, Mona Nicholson. The last thing she expected was to discover Bill Jordan was missing. He’d simply vanished and no one had a clue as to where or why.

Caleb Mansfield had thought he’d actually take some time off when his boss, Roger Cantwell, ordered him to relax. He hadn’t expected to find himself mixed up in a search for his old friend, mentor, and father of the woman he let get away. It was possible that he held the key to why Bill Jordan was missing but he, just as Lacey and the police, hadn’t a clue as to who was behind it.

So, the mystery deepens. Lacey worries, Mona frets, and Caleb attempts to make sense of everything, including his feelings for Lacey, and her undeniably cold shoulder attitude. Insisting on staying around to sort out the many possible suspects, Caleb appoints himself Lacey’s round the clock protector. Of course, he’s also hoping to wear down her resolve and get her to trust him. Just as she had, once upon a time, one summer long ago when they were in love.

DANGEROUS ALLY by Michelle Grey is a delightful second chance romance infused with a mystery that will keep you guessing all the way, right up to the reveal of the bad guy behind it all. The mystery starts slow, which isn’t always a bad thing, but soon begins to simmer as more suspects begin to surface. Michelle handles the mystery part of this story so well that my mind had nearly everyone named as the culprit, at least once.

Her characters are charming, sneaky, downright despicable, and believable in all the ways that matter. The only problem I had was that she had developed a secondary story that at first I thought was important but once the connection to the main mystery was severed, I felt it was no longer needed. Too much time was taken up with this aspect of the book and began to feel like filler. I would like to have seen more action pertaining to the mystery and the constant danger that Lacey and Caleb were in rather than drawing my attention away with something that could’ve been wrapped up in less time.

Overall, DANGEROUS ALLY by Michelle Grey was a great read minus the secondary story. I highly recommend reading this edge of the seat, mind-teasing mystery built around a second chance romance that will keep you captivated and cheering them on. I’m looking forward to Michelle’s next book with eager anticipation – there’s a teaser for her new one at the end that will definitely hook you.

This debut novel by Michelle Grey is a well-developed combination of romance and suspense that will capture you from the start and keep you engaged throughout.

Lacey is going to her father’s house for dinner and when she arrives he is nowhere to be found. She is mildly concerned at first but as the evening goes on and there is no word from him she phones the police to report him missing. As she waits for information from the police she intercepts a phone call from Caleb Mansfield on her father’s phone. Caleb, who is very close to Lacey’s father is extremely concerned about his disappearance and drops everything to come and help her.

Lacey and Caleb have a history together and Lacey is concerned about trusting him to help her without becoming emotionally involved. She is determined to keep her distance and concentrate on finding her father but their chemistry is too strong to be denied.

Lacey is a strong character who is independent, energetic and a loving and compassionate woman. Caleb is a very intelligent and caring person and his devotion to finding Lacey’s father combined with the realization that he is in love with Lacey has him doing whatever he can to make her trust him again. The dynamic between these two characters is ever present throughout the story.

All the characters in the story are presented with great detail and contribute to the suspense and drama in a tremendous way.

A very endearing part of the story is when Lacey becomes involved in the adoption process with Sam, her employee, and the support and encouragement she provides this troubled teen when she has nowhere to turn.

This story is written in a manner that enables you to feel the tension and anxiety of the characters. The story is fast paced and the dialogue between the characters is realistic and relatable. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy a great mystery combined with a compassionate and moving love story.

I read Unspoken Bonds first and loved it enough to get this book right away.

I knew this was Michelle Grey's first book so I was expecting it to be less polished than Unspoken Bonds, some how more of a 'promising first effort'. I was wrong. Dangerous Ally had me from the start and never let go.

This book had a high sense of suspense to it. While there were misleads and hints, I was not totally sure who the 'bad guy' was until near the reveal (he was in my top 2). The characters were well developed and the side story lines were equally engaging. I hope that we see some of them in the future, if not in key roles, then at least mentioned in passing.

Lacey comes home to find her father missing. No sign of a struggle, no ransom note and no reason for him to leave. She is in her own right a strong woman with her own business and strength of character. If she has a fault, it's too much compassion.

Caleb is our hero. He's a powerful man with a kick-ass brain. He's a business super hero. His mentor, Lacey's father Bill entrusted him with some top secret information just before he goes missing.

Caleb and Lacey have history. Neither thinks they should get back together, but as with any good romance, they are drawn to each other, spend time in denial, and well, it's a romance. I wont print a spoiler but figure it out for yourself!

Well worth the read. More than just a 'good first book', this is a good book.

I was happy to receive the kindle version of Dangerous Ally, which is Grey's debut novel. After reading the synopsis and bio, I was hooked and could not wait to read it. And read it I did. I devoured it! The book zips along nicely, the heroine Lacey is what a woman should be, brave, guarded, independent and feisty.

The hero of the piece, the love interest is Caleb Mansfield, who is the quintessential hunk of a bloke, intelligent, caring, manly, strong..(sorry, drooled a little there!)

The two characters have a history, a bitter-sweet history which simmers as a side plot to the main event which is of course, Lacey's father being kidnapped by some very unsavoury people. As the main plot unfolds with more layers of intrigue, Lacey and Caleb learn to work together, grudgingly on one side, to bring her father home safe. By the end of the book I was screaming at them to get together, which is the sign of a great book. This book is extremely well written, edited perfectly, and the cover is very steamy too!
This is an excellent debut novel and I advise you to read it. I am reliably informed that Grey's second book will be out soon, so get behind me in the queue!

This book is suspenseful, captivating, romantic and more!

Michelle creates these 2 characters Lacey and Caleb who knew each other years ago (6 to be exact) and Caleb broke her heart. Now out of the blue while Lacey's father is missing Caleb comes back home and wants to help. She is suspicious and cautious of him and who can blame her. However, the walls come down and she feels could be falling for him again, but how can she when she overhears something that makes her second guess everything?

Caleb has missed Lacey the moment he sees her again. There has never been anyone in his life like her. He has some news to share with her, but knows she does not trust him and can understand that. However, during this ordeal of the chaos of her missing father, he falls for her again.. but can't understand why she keeps pushing him away. Has she finally thought he isn't worth the time or effort?

To be honest, this book was has it all! Suspense (check), mystery (check), second chances (check), redemption (check), love (check), awesome characters (check) and more!

If you love any of the above things I personally checked off then you will love this book! Go check it out! You won't be disappointed you did!

To what lengths would you go to to save your father? Working together with your first love who broke your heart? Putting your own life on the line? Unfortunately for Lacey, this is all a reality.

She thought she was going to be coming home to some wonderful news, hoping that her father and Mona were going to be sharing that they were engaged. What she was not expecting was that her father would be missing. Not only her
father, but also Mona's son. That last part is nothing new. Spencer is known to be gone for days, but the timing is too coincidental. On top of all of this, her ex, Caleb, comes back in to town looking for her father as Caleb holds the big discovery that he was working on before his disappearance.

I love when I'm able to find a good romantic suspense novel. Both Lacey and Caleb are wonderfully strong and passionate characters. Lacey is feisty, brave, and very independent. She'd have to be, to be willing to put her own life down to save her father. Caleb is willing to do whatever it takes to make her see that he's on her side. He wants her to trust in him. He's amazingly sweet and caring.

Dangerous Ally was a great read that I truly enjoyed getting sucked in to. Michelle Grey has done a wonderful job with this one!

Everyone loves a good mystery now and then. Sprinkle in a hot romance with a gnarly history, and you have the makings of a fast-paced book that will keep you up way past your bedtime because you promise to read just one more chapter, but end up reading 5 more.

I loved the character development. I loved the way the book flowed. I loved how Lacey wanted to go one way, but her heart took her a completely different way. I loved that (again) I was sure I had everything figured out and yet another author sucked me down a zig zag of an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole, and I made a promise to myself that I won't be so cocky next time (we'll see about that). I loved how Lacey put the love for her father out in front to risk even her own life in order to save him.

Romantic thrillers are always a fun read for me. Dangerous Ally was no exception. Ms. Grey wrote in such a way that it was easy to make an investment in the characters and actually get a pay off. The pay off was good, but you'll have to read it and see for yourself.

Thank you Michelle Grey - I hope that you have something just as exciting on the tip of your pen very soon!

I loved this suspense romance! Where is lacey's dad? Who took him and why? Was it his girlfriends son or was it biotech? Why did days before Bill was taken did he send Caleb his Million Dollar cure for cancer? Lacey had a wonderful summer in love with Caleb years before but Caleb & her dad thought it would be best for her not to move to Chicago with the man she loved. It broke her heart but she moved on and had her friends, work and her dad. Now her world is flipped upside down. Her dad is missing and Caleb is now back in town... He wants to help find his friend Bill (Lacey's dad) She can't let him stomp on her heart for a second time! She is saying No No No but her heart is saying Yes. She doesn't want to get hurt. She is content with her life until Caleb was able to prove her wrong by loving her but will she let him love her? I loved this story! I was hooked from the first chapter... It had a great flow and alot of suspense that I just had to know what happened. Thank you so much Michelle Grey for letting me read and review your awesome book can't wait for the next book! I'm defiantly a fan of your
Awesome work :)

This novel started out a little slow but was quite interesting with all of the background information that Grey fills her readers in with. It kept getting better from there. By the end I was quite immersed in the lives of these characters. I quite enjoyed the biotechnology behind the story. It was a brilliant basis that made this story stand out in the crowd, even if the romance portion of the novel was a bit predictable at times. But hey, it’s a romance novel. They tend to all have a HEA.

The main characters in this novel were quite interesting and driven. I became rather attached to them and they were definitely the type of people that you wanted to see succeed. The supporting cast could have been a bit more developed so that we had more of an idea who they were, but they did serve their roles quite nicely as they were.

Overall, this novel presented a very cohesive whole that brought you from point A to point B with a smile on your face. It was an enjoyable read that I’d recommend to those who enjoy romance with a bit of suspense.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

For her debut novel, Michelle Grey blew it out of the park. She created a world I could easily step into and want to stay. Her characters were real with flaws and attributes that made them so alive and loveable. The book had the perfect mixture of romance and suspense. The chemistry between Lacey and Caleb sizzled from their first scene together. You could tell that they had a lot of unfinished story between them and it was fun to watch them fall for each other all over. Both Lacey and Caleb are caring people that'll help anyone out. That just made me love both of them. As far as the suspense goes, I loved every page. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, a twist would be thrown in and I'd have to start guessing all over again. Fantastic book all around...

I love reading debut novels. You never know what is in store for you when you read an author's debut novel and I have found many new authors this way. I sincerely hope Michelle Grey writes another book because she's got a new fan in me.

**This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review**

I love a good mystery book and this one is certainly that. With the number I have read too often I can solve the crime fairly early on and then half the fun is removed but not in this case.

If I hadn't been told that this was a debut offering I would never have believed it. The writing is well executed and the story compelling mixing a great balance of crime and romance.

Every time I thought I had figured out the plot we got a new piece of information that let me know I was wrong and the answers didn't become clear until it was all wrapping up towards the climax.

My only complaint would be that for me, there was too much story after the crime part was over. I read it because it was there but felt that a short epilogue would have satisfied be far better.

A definite recommended read for mystery lovers everywhere!
