The Book of Baphomet by Julian Vayne

Rate this book
You hold in your hands the material result of many years' hard craft. This Book contains some of the secrets of Life itself; or rather, the occult deity of Life on Earth, Baphomet. Horned, vital, beautiful, awe full, our aeons old Chaos Magick idol finds a name from the Knights' Templar, then goes incognito through the Enlightenment (when flourished those great natural philosophers beloved of science historians), before emerging via devil worship and witchcraft into this era of Deep Ecology. Darwin could have used a picture of Baphomet as his frontispiece, to demonstrate the one flesh from which all species originate. Contacting this Great Spirit, the anima mundi, allows access to a new way of ordering the world, with fresh visions of how and why we could Live. Here the authors weave strands from their lives into a rich tapestry of images, which might give you a pointer or two towards your own self-realisation, whilst amusing, entertaining, and instructing along the way. Revolution, evolution, leap beyond the apocalypse to the Now!

Baphomete, exactly who is Baphomet? Is he another version or icon of the devil or is he a representative of the old horned God from yesteryear. Perhaps auld horney and the devil are one and the same. Most of us are familiar with Baphomet from either his picture on the Satanic Bible cover or perhaps the cover of Eliphas Levis book " Transcendental Magic" the figure is quite androgynous. The head represent a bulls head and the musculature is that of a weight lifter. Yet Baphyhas a nice set of female breasts and down below his waste there is a very erect phallus. The authors would equate Baphomet with being the supreme creator or life force.

The books comes from the pen of some Chaos Magicians. I like Chaos magick myself. Yet this work comes off like a spur of the moment acid trip. The authors write that they have used ethneogens to reach a trance state and connect with Baphomet energy. Oft times the authors went into caves to do their trance work.

While most of this work was stream of consciousness it did have some strong points as well as some week points. There was a bit of history thrown in , some useful invocations and a little work plan at the end. I wish there was more of it.

The book comes off like someone penned this during an acid trip. Great so we get your conceptualization of the universe. Now give me something to work with. Give me some rituals, spells , working etc. where is the beef?

Terrible. Probably will become a New Age classic... Same old syrupy neophiliac entheogen angst . "free-flowing" becomes "garbage" with missing words and cut-ups which refuse to evoke further meaning than holding back the urge to throw away the book ($35).

Suppose the authors missed RAW's excellent writings about POP-ECOLOGY "ecological mysticism" ( a proper subgenre for any good firestarter)... R.A. Wilson "Right Where You Are Sitting Now"

If the authors read The PB, maybe this book could have been prevented.

They stole the operation of personifying phenomena of life/death from Ramsey Dukes. Anything redeemable about the book was explicitly stolen.

All in all, ourself thinks they haven't had a good burger in a while...

I will send this book to you for free. The first to message me, I will send it to you. I need to forget about it.

"Księga Bafometa" to niewątpliwie intrygujący tytuł, o jeszcze bardziej intrygującej treści.

Z całej książki można wyłuskać wiele ciekawych i skłaniających do refleksji fragmentów. Zaskoczyło mnie też wiele odniesień do dbałości o nasze środowisko, naturę i planetę.

I love the way Julian gives presentations. I bought this book after hearing his presentation about Baphomet.
It didn't disappoint.
If you like British humour you will like Julian's style of writing.
Highly recommended.

Who is Baphomet and how can he be named
Like Momahmmed. That can never be possible. Someone who’s drawn down like Goat can’t be like the must high prophet who’s was sent by Allah. Our beloved Mohammed.

Both the authors are passionate and talented magickians and this is obvious in this excellent book. Highly recommended to anyone interested in Magick.
