A very helpful book, I know the basics of Oragami, but I had no idea on just how many different folds there are. I enjoyed learning about the history of Oragami, which I knew very little of, but I do wish the book had more folding projects. But all in all it’s a great start up for those looking for a new art medium, or just some family fun.
I love this book. I've had it since my senior year in high school. It began my love of origami. I've tried other origami books, but this one is by far my favorite.
Also taken from my brother, this one was much more my level. I did some of these projects. The fireworks one is still around somewhere. At least, it was before we moved. Haha. It probably got chucked out. I always used the printer paper, which probably made my work more difficult, but my parents didn't get angry with me for wasting fancy, expensive paper and I learned to cut squares with our paper cutter. The illustrations are actual step-by-step photos. Assorted projects include napkin folding and party tricks.
Borrowed this book from a friend a while back, and was able to make a few things from it! It has all different options, and beginners'/easy stuff to harder stuff (which I did not even attempt). Of course, you just need to make sure you actually have origami paper, otherwise it will not work at all with regular paper. They have some pretty interesting origami paper too, some of which is even shiny. I'll definitely try more origami projects in the future :D
This is, hands down, my favorite origami book. Rick Beech does an awesome job of compiling a wide range of beginner to expert folding patterns. If you were to buy just one origami book, let it be this one.
I've done a few little orgiami pieces from just this book and a few pieces of origami paper from the art store :) Good for beginners, and there's also a lot of advanced stuff in here too.
