Wow! I never expected this book to be so interesting and thoroughly researched. It's written by James Packer, who Time Magazine has called one of the 25 most influential evangelicals in America. (Along with Billy Graham and Richard John Neuhaus.) It's the type of book that you use to skip around for research on certain points...yet I was so interested, I read it chapter by chapter. I wanted to know about who Jesus was when he lived on earth. I wanted to know about his language, his environment in Galilee, his money, his calendar, his culture, his government, his total social milieu. This book has the answers. I was surprised to learn so many unusual, unexpected facts in many areas.
