One Stupid Stunt Kimberly Conrad, the hottest female movie star in the world, has a problem. A fake romance stunt became a PR disaster that caused her to go from America's sunshine sweetheart to its biggest liar. Her long slow climb back to respectability requires her to do two things–stay away from relationships and do something daring to remake her image.
One incredible Stunt Mattias Wilkins, the grumpy daredevil stunt coordinator, likes to hide in the shadows. After a lifetime of disappointment, things are finally turning in his favor. He's designed a death-defying stunt that will propel his little company to the top of the Hollywood industry. An injury to a critical stunt member threatens to kill the dream.
That is until Kimberly raises her manicured fingers.
He's the grump who doesn't work with pampered Hollywood stars. She's the sunshine princess in need of a miracle. They have three days to make it work. Three days alone in exquisitely beautiful Singapore.
Mel Walker is an award-winning rare bird, the male romance author. Specializing in heartfelt small-town romance, he enjoys telling compelling romances with all the feels. A native New Yorker and life-long frustrated NY Mets fan, he enjoys baseball, reading, bike rides, and writing outdoors where he absorbs the energy of the city.
Oh my goodness!! I’ve read a few from this author and they have not disappointed yet!! I wasn’t sure what this story would be about but within the first chapter I was giddy and couldn’t wait for what this story had in store for me!
Kimberly is such a different character than I’m sure most will be surprised with and it’s a very pleasant surprise! She’s so fierce and determined but also wholesome. She’s not the over the top actress that I expect some to write, she’s just a normal person with a public job. I love how she grows so much more than I expected within those few days!
The way Mattias comes off from his first chapter introduced is this person who you can tell has been hurt before. You can tell that not only has he been hurt in the past but it’s a pain he’s build for years and I felt for him in that instant. I felt their connection early on and couldn’t help but be giddy with the possibilities!!
From that moment that they first stepped up to each other and the who thing began my excitement grew with each chapter! I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next, what is the Singapore Stunt and why is it so crazy but my goodness was it so intense! I had my hand over my mouth for so many moments freaking out about what would happen!! I LOVED it!! Way to go on this and I love your writing style!
Kimberly Conrad, Hollywood starlet first introduced in the Lake Hope series now has her own book and romance. Fresh off the romance series Kimberly wants to prove she’s more than a pretty face good enough for romance movies. Her newest film has her starring as an action hero. But when her stunt double is injured along with the stunt coordinator/co-owner of the stunt company, Kimberly raises her hands to do the stunts coming up in Singapore.
Mattias Wilkins is the half brother and the other co-owner of the stunt company. Mattias is also the choreographer of the Singapore Stunt, a high action, super dangerous stunt. And it’s Mattias’ responsibility to make sure that Kimberly is ready for the stunt. Along the way of the intense training, Mattias realizes Kimberly is not the typical high maintenance, Hollywood ‘darling’ and instead she’s a hard working, humble woman just trying to make her way in a male dominated action hero industry.
I loved getting to know Mattias and Kimberly, but that Singapore stunt had me weak in the knees, because this city girl doesn’t do heights unless there are glass enclosed edges!
There is a happy ending and a safe landing… but I was biting my nails.
This story will warm you rheart, make it beat harder and make it stop for a bit!
Kimberly Conrad is an actress fighting to prove her worth is more than a past mistake. Mattias Wilkins is a grumpy Stunt Coordinator that doesn't care to work with Hollywood privilaged princesses.
When Mattias is forced to train Kimberly for the most challenging role and most dangerous stunts, he is just waiting for her to fail and run crying. But when she shows him something he has never seen before in an actress, grit, determination and most of all - respect, he takes another look.
The chemistry between them is undeniable. The ease with the way they work together is unforgettable. Theirs is a fire built on more than passion flames. It is teamwork, friendship, and trust.
The story takes you from Hollywood to Singapore and gives you a readers tour of the wonders of the city. It draws you in with the way this couple 'sees' each other as no one else does. You feel their hurts and their joys. With an amazing ending fitting any Mission Impossible film. you will cheer with them and watch them begin a wonderful journey of possibilities!
I have loved everything from this author that I’ve ever read, so I wasn’t watching super carefully when I picked this book to read. I didn’t realize that this was part of an existing series… Two of them, in fact. Series that I hadn’t read any of the previous books in. Yet. But that’s okay, because this book didn’t need me to have any previous knowledge to get sucked deeply into the story. I adored Kimberly right off the bat. She’s fierce and she’s feisty; she’s everything I aspire to be. Mattias started out prickly and a little judgmental, so he took me a bit longer to warm up to. But once I found out what had caused all his defenses to spring up in the first place, my heart went out to him. Time vanished while I was reading this book. I was pulled in so completely that it felt like I blinked and it was over already. I adored these characters so much that I know I have to go back and read about everything that happened to lead us here. I also can’t wait to find out where these series go next. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
I don't know how I've missed Mel Walker before reading The Singapore Stunt, but it's safe to say that he is now firmly on my radar. I don't mind admitting that I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Not that I thought it would be bad, but I'm not crazy about Hollywood starlets getting their HEA. There's nothing wrong with it; it's just not my preference for romance. So, I was hoping for good, but I found better than that. Kimberly isn't the typical Hollywood starlet. She doesn't come across as spoiled, and she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty. She and Mattias are a bit of an opposites attract story, which I love, and these two have such good chemistry. The book is a quick read, easily finished in an afternoon, but Mel Walker doesn't skimp on the feels at all. So, if you're looking for a vacation read, be sure to pack this one! You won't regret it.
I love Mel Walker books, they are a true delight, every single time.
Singapore Stunt follows Kimberly in her preparation for a key scene in her latest movie. She is down to earth and a hard worker; as usual, a beautifully written female character.
The books highlights many things I love - looking beyond the first impression, the value of hard work, taking your life in your hands, friendships, respect earned through dedication.
I liked the characters so much that my next read is part of a series in which one of the characters got his start.
A book by Mel Walker is a guarantee.

This was a really good engaging story. Kimberly is sunshine with a strong work ethic. Matthias is grumpy and closed off. Their initial meeting had scorching attraction. I was entertained watching them flirt and fall for one another. Love means being open and venerable. Love is a partnership that should be easy. This story had the perfect amount of angst and chemistry that made the pages fly by.

Kimberly is an actress looking to prove herself. Mattias is a stunt coordinator, who was tired of Hollywood princesses. When Mattias had to train Kimberly, she did not give up the way he expected.
This is a fun read with an electric chemistry and a friendship that grows to a stronger bond.

This was a great story that is part of the Vagabond Series. Kimberly and Mattias showed me such a different side of Hollywood that we, the public, are not aware of. These two had such an interesting story and the romance added in made for a really great story. I enjoyed this story.

Loved this grumpy sunshine romance The characters were very relatable and the story definitely kept me entertained. Kimberly and Matthias had great chemistry even if it was an instant attraction. Fun quick read.
This was a perfect Grumpy/Sunshine book. I loved the chemistry from the beginning and she got him to open up and love himself despite the scars. He got her to open her heart up to true love. Great book!
I love characters with unique professions. I also love traveling and reading about exotic destinations. This story provided all including the thing I love the most - a good Love Story!
