Wolfishly Yours

The Characters:

Grayson Hadley
Liviana Mayeux

The Story:

Great story. Lady or not I really like Liviana. Her “wild” upbringing gave her the skills she needed to keep Gray in line.

The Random Thoughts:

Why didn’t Archer and Lady Sophie ever get a book? While we’re at it I’d like to see the Mayeux brothers get roped too.

Beautiful story with strong characters. I love the combining of historical romance with Lycans. I liked Livi right away because she would not let her dad dictate her life. Gray is the perfect wolf to tame her.

Wolfishly Yours was a difficult book for me to review. The fan in me loved returning to the world that Lydia Dare has created with the Westfield Wolves series. The latest stories have been following the exploits of the Hadley brothers, a less distinguished family within the ton, seeing how each of the roguish brothers is tamed by their perfect mate. These stories are a balance of paranormal/shifter stories with a heavy dose of the historical format that I love. Unfortunately, the reviewer in me had to take a more objective look at the story. I found that there was a large gap between what is explained for a new reader about the characters and what is assumed that they already know. Added to that was the fact that this story had very little to do with the wolfish side of things, making it less of a hybrid and more standard romance with some supernatural elements. Overall it led to a rather average read for me.

I think a major problem was that our heroine, Liviana Mayeux already knows all about the existence of Lycans and how their world works. She and her brothers are decedents of a French line of Lycans who have made their home in New Orleans. Liviana’s father eloped with an Englishwoman before moving to America, and it is her return to her mother’s homeland that begins the story. She has no desire to remain in England or be reformed into the perfect English miss, yet her grandfather decrees that Liviana will find her place within his social circles and make a good match. With a main character already having this vast knowledge there was little opportunity for exposition. Newer readers might wonder why Liviana could come from a Lycan family but not be one herself, or ask about the significance of birthmarks each lycan-born has on their person somewhere.

A new reader could also wonder about the inter-family/pack dynamics that are at play for Grayson Hadley. Grayson, like all the male members of his family, has a difficult time keeping his inner wolf in check to present a more respectable face to the human world. He has lived a life full of wine, women, and debauchery, but his pack alpha (and older brother) has recently decreed that he and his brothers must become real gentlemen, including the manners and social graces that entails. Unfortunately, the authors seemed to gloss over much of the character history that was established in the earlier books. They just assume that we know and move forward. Another issue I had while reading was that the authors mention Grayson’s wolf side many times throughout his courtship with Liviana, yet there is never a scene where Grayson shifts into his other form. We are told all about how the Moonrise (full moon) is coming, and where Grayson and Liviana find themselves at that time could have led to some amusing scenes or even a chance for the hero to find himself vulnerable and it’s up to the heroine to help him. Instead we are shown a more creative way to pass the time for Grayson and Liviana, but still no shifting. It’s a small complaint, yet it stood out for me more than it should have.

The conflicts for Grayson and Liviana’s relationship borrowed more from the Historical playbook than the Paranormal one. Because Grayson does not hold a title and isn’t independently wealthy Liviana’s grandfather doesn’t see him as a suitable match for her. Liviana too is reluctant to enter into a relationship with Grayson because of his reputation as a carouser and rake. Since the fear of Liviana finding out his secret is off the table, Grayson’s problems stem from a general fear of commitment and having to provide for a wife and family when his own financial prospects are shaky at best. One thing I have appreciated about this shifter series is that the authors chose not to have each couple be “fated mates.” The courtships can fall into the same traps that regular romances do and Grayson and Liviana both make many mistakes along the way. I think that the love that form between them is more believable than what happened in the last story because they were able to fight, make up, and then move past each incident much stronger as a couple.

For any new readers interested in reading a Lydia Dare book I would strongly recommend not using this book as their first experience. There is too much of an assumption that the reader has that prior knowledge about all that has come before. For regular readers of Dare’s books, Wolfishly Yours is a nice continuation of the overall story arc of the Hadley brothers and Grayson’s maturation was nice to see.

This is my first ever historical shifter book and I quite enjoyed it! It’s also the first I’ve read in the Westfield series (this is book 6 of the series) as well as my first time reading from Lydia Dare. There’s suspense, romance, humor and fun to be had within these pages. Best part, I was not lost since I’ve not read any others in the series. So anyone can/will enjoy this book as a stand alone or otherwise :)

Livi is a free spirited, open and considered unladylike woman that has no choice but to travel to her grandfathers home to ‘learn’ how to be a proper lady. She did not chose this, he father did so for her. Hurt, feeling alone, abandoned and out of place; she takes it all in stride the best she can. I really LOVE her character and feel she grows as the book goes on. She begins to listen more to advice (instead of brushing it off right away), takes more time to consider her actions and opens her eyes to new things. I believe all of this happens most when she realizes the effect having met Gray has on her :)

Gray is a strappingly handsome lycan male that (sadly) has been labeled as below (or beneath) the ton. Labels are barely (if ever) removed from ones person once they have them. Working on his manners and trying (not very willingly I must add) to become the gentlemen all expect of him proves most difficult, but at least he’s not to endure it on his own. One of his brother’s is also stuck with the lessons. One day when he and his brother escort his mother to a requested residence, he meets the most tempting creature he’s ever laid his eyes on. So beautiful, bold and all together tempting to him. But alas, they are of different levels, different places and it’s not proper for one such as him to even consider a Lady such as Livi. Will he let what should be stop what is?

Together Gray and Livi make jaws drop and shock the unshockable in and out of the ton. It’s a bit of a roller coaster ride and you will feel a great sense of anticipation for all moments that Livi and Gray are together, even when they are apart actually, in trouble and out of it. Their banter and refusal is most entertaining but what gets me the most is what ends up in the end. No one can stop what’s meant to be. No matter how hard one (or many) may try.

Any historical or paranormal reader will enjoy reading Wolfishly Yours.

This was yet another great book by the writing duo known as Lydia Dare. Such a cute and charming read and it definitely made me anxious to get my hands on the next book in this series. I love the humor that is infused throughout the book. It doesn't feel phony or over the top as some books with humor in them tend to feel. It feels true to the characters and the world that Lydia Dare has created.

With this installment in the Westfield Wolves we are treated to the HEA of Grayson Hadley and Liviana Mayeux. These two were great together and I love the chemistry between them. Right off the bat you can sense the attraction between them yet both try to deny it and their feelings.

Liviana has recently been shipped off to England to live with the grandfather she has never met. All she wants to do is return home to her father and brothers back in Louisiana. England is just too uptight, boring and cold. She wants no part of it, nor her grandfathers quest to turn her into a proper lady and to find her a husband. She can find herself her own husband back in Louisiana where she can be herself.

As soon as Grayson lays eyes on Liviana all bets are off. He's hooked and everyone can see it. Well everyone but himself and Liviana. Grayson wants no parts of being leg shackled but there is just something about Liviana that draws him in and he just can't seem to resist her charms. He knows that he's no good and that she deserves better, but he just can't seem to stay away from her.

I loved these two together. Grayson is so lovable and such a bumbling dolt whenever he gets around Liviana. It was just so cute. Both were made for each other and I just loved watching these two realize their true feelings for one another.

This book definitely has me itching to get my hands on the next book. I am dying for Archer's story.

They are opposites and yet very much alike. Both are thought to be beneath the upper crust of English society. When they get together, the ton is in for a surprise.

This is a rough description of author Lydia Dare’s latest protagonists in WOLFISHLY YOURS. Once again Dare pairs an unusual couple for a tantalizing outcome.

Liviana Mayeux finds herself shipped off to England to live with Lord Holmesfield, a grandfather she barely knows. She’s fine running through the swamps of Louisiana with her two Lycan brothers. Now her father and her grandfather want to make a proper lady out of her.

Meanwhile, Grayson Hadley and his brother, Archer, are forced to endure Lady Sophia Cole’s lessons of proper etiquette. His half brother, Lord Eynsford, wants to make gentlemen out of them despite their Lycan ways.

Lord Holmesfield enlists the assistance of Grayson’s mother, Lady Radbourne, to help Liviana become a lady. However, he doesn’t want the Hadley ruffians around her.

Dare has created well-developed characters that are strong, but with quirks and flaws. You’ll quickly believe in the unbelievable. The story moves at a steady pace with a good mix of romance, humor, family, paranormal, and historical setting.

This is the ninth installment in the Westfield Wolves series, but is a stand alone read. Returning fans will find familiar couples scattered throughout the story, but the references won’t leave new readers in the dark. In fact, new readers might be intrigued to learn the back stories of several of the characters involved with Grayson and Liviana’s adventure.

WOLFISHLY YOURS is a fun read that will draw you in and hold you spellbound till the end. The feisty spirit of Liviana and the sexy charm of Grayson makes for an enticing tale.

FTC Full Disclosure - This book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

In terms of reading, Wolfishly Yours is an easy and likable read. In terms of a romance, it's not as strong as I would've liked. The common problem I've had with a lot of Ms. Dare's books is that they seem to be overrun with recurring side characters and going-ons that serve no purpose to the story. There was some romance, but I guess I just didn't feel it as strongly as I expected from a romance book.

There is nothing wrong with the characters - I enjoyed them and wish the story had focused more on the two leads developing a relationship with each other. Livi and Gray were charming in their own ways but I felt there wasn't a very strong focus on them. At times I was wondering if I was reading a story about Lady Sophia and Lord Radbourne (Archer). And then with all these people showing up it's a wonder that more didn't go wrong, and that they fell in love anyway. I was genuinely amused and even charmed at times by the interactions between Livi and Gray but frustrated by all these unnecessary characters popping up.

There is a slight paranormal angle to it - but it doesn't play a particularly large part of the story, it's more of a background issue and wasn't used to it's fullest potential in this book. There were also some things that I felt were rushed, especially toward the end - like the romance, and how quickly Livi left for home, not to mention the 'villain' who was so pathetic it wasn't even funny - it felt like they just threw him in because the story needed a 'villain'.

Overall - it wasn't the worst but it's not the best romance. It's like a catch up with other characters with a side of romance. Or perhaps setting up for Radbourne (Archer) and/or Sophia's story. I'm not sure if there will be other stories but it certainly leaves that impression. It was okay and pleasant enough to read - but I wanted an all out romance and I don't feel I got that (well not until the end - that felt more like a romance).

I couldn’t put this book down – took less than a day to finish, it was that good. For all that the series is about lycans, it’s really not. The focus of the story is on the romance between Livi and Gray, two lycans who meet when Livi is forced to leave her beloved New Orleans for the dreaded English soil. I loved her, and all I could think was “please don’t make her into a lady!” Gray loves her spirit, and the fact that she’s not a lady (in all the best ways, of course). The banter between them is wonderful; and their sexual chemistry is obvious and builds nicely.

I’m not always a fan of the younger brothers in historical romance, but this really worked. Gray may not be the “alpha,” but he is successful and strong-minded, and that goes a long way. Livi is frustrated – at being in England, at her father for forcing her to leave, at all the societal restrictions, and at her grandfather for pushing her mother away. And Gray encourages her to buck them all, and be herself. It was refreshing. Add in some interesting secondary characters and I was hooked. I haven’t really read the series, and I could follow along with no problems. Definitely worth reading!

I love Lydia Dare's writing. It's quick with a touch of humor and a over all great love story . In Wolfishly Yours Grayson Hadley gets his book and his sassy bride.

Grayson and his brothers are not viewed well in upper-society. So when Mr. Holmesfield enlists the help of Gray's mother to help induct his granddaughter into civilized society Gray inadvertently is enlisted to help. I love the way Gray is just enamored the moment he sets eyes on the beautiful Liviana Mayeux. Gray is a fun loving man. He is not my favorite brother but i loved him.

I absolutely adored Livi, she has such sass and a brazen attitude. She is willing to endure the lessons on how to be a proper lady, but it will never let it change her spirit, she's a high spirited female raised by 3 lycan males.

I would have like a little more heat and sexy scenes but overall it was great. They love story is sweet and fulfilling. There is very cute humor throughout the whole book. It as not my favorite of the series but i liked it a lot.

Did not finish at about 60%, and the fault isn't entirely with this book in itself, but in what I perceived as an overarching theme in the series-- that these relationships work out because the men kidnap, coerce, lie, strong-arm, and otherwise operate underhandedly to get the girl. Here we start with a potentially promising relationship, only asshole Grayson convinces Livi's guardian that he's debauched her publicly, in a garden, in order to secure the ailing man's reluctant permission for them to wed. WHAT THE F***. After seeing that book 5 and another previous marriage were achieved through kidnapping, I was done.

Wolfishly Yours was a historical romance fantasy fiction novel and for me I felt that this was a fresh take on the genres being combined into one and I have to say it was really good! I enjoyed the plotline seeing that I never was interested in the concept of fantasy being intertwined with historical fiction e.g. with Lycans and the supernatural world however this cast away any doubts I had about the book. Liviana Mayeux and Grayson Hadley's love story is beautifully crafted and their relationship that develops overtime is not overwritten or cliché. I was going to give this book a 4.5 star rating but I think it also deserves a 5 in the sense that it really was unique in its characters, storyline and how it was written. I really enjoyed this book as it lifted my spirits during this week as I've been down in the dumps so I would highly recommend as it is a good pick me up! Loved it! Hopefully I will get to read the other books when the library reopens after this is all over.

I'm not usually reading stories in this particular genre, but this cover and the title was what made me take a second look at the genre.

That said, I am sort of glad I did veer in this direction. The story was well written and I really liked the pace of it. It moved fast and had me interested in the outcome. There's plenty of interesting characters and that helped with a predictable plot.

In the end, I found the story romantic, funny and entertaining. I would that I had read this series from book one though ;)

Quick read. This premise sounded more interesting than the others (while not realizing there was a series) so I'm not sure if this was addressed in another book, but can female Lycans not shapeshift in this universe? It's only ever mentioned in the male context.

My first paranormal regency! I just wish the story had been more paranormal than regency Brits. Good enough but it would have been fantastic if the Lycan world had been really explored in this book.

PJV Quickie: I am always excited to see a new book out by Lydia Dare. Their mix of historical and paranormal romance is always a win, and while Wolfishly Yours is not my favorite of the series, it’s nice to be back in their world…

Review:
Liviana Mayeaux is a young, rich American shipping heiress, sent by her widower father to stay in England with her estranged maternal grandfather in the hopes that he can instill some ladylike behavior in her. Raised in New Orleans with her two werewolf brothers, she’s quite a wild tomboy and her grandfather thinks she’s a lost cause but sends for a neighbor who is well-respected in the Ton to work with her in the faint hope they can turn her into an English lady. All Livi wants is to go back to New Orleans and continue her unrestrained lifestyle gallivanting through the bayou with her brothers.

Grayson Hadley is twin to Weston Hadley (the hero from The Wolf Who Loved Me). Gray and his unmarried brother Archer have been forced by their half-brother and Pack Alpha, Dash (the hero from The Taming of the Wolf), to submit to culture lessons. When Gray’s mother invites them to go with her to Livi’s grandfather’s home to meet Livi, Gray does not want to go, but once he meets her he is intrigued by the feisty and outspoken young woman. Of course, Livi’s grandfather wants the rougish Hadley brothers to stay as far away from Livi as possible.

When they all head off to Bath together as practice for Livi’s first Season, absolutely nothing goes as planned…

Wolfishly Yours is the 5th book in the Westerfeld Wolves series, and is a fun frolic back into the historical paranormal world created by the writing duo of Lydia Dare. I’m happy to say we get to meet again with wolves and wives from previous books, although it’s okay if you haven’t read any of the previous books in the series.

I really enjoyed these two socially awkward characters doing their best to follow the rules of society and bumbling through with only partial success. Livi is sweet and I felt badly for her situation, coming across the ocean to a strange place where she didn’t know anyone. When her brothers showed up later in the book, I really enjoyed them too – I’ll admit to a great curiosity about the New Orleans Lycans – they seem to be naughty, naughty boys *winks*. And Gray – oh poor Gray! He’s got no income to speak of, he’s a bit of a rake, and against his will he falls for this sweet American who knows what he is. He wants to be with her but doesn’t feel worthy and makes quite a mess of things, more than once!

I find that sometimes secondary characters can make or break a book, and in the case of Wolfishly Yours it’s definitely a ‘make’! I liked Lady Sophie, the woman who is teaching Livi and the Hadley brothers to fit in society, and her antagonistic relationship with Archer is very interesting. As mentioned above, Livi’s brothers are both entertaining and enjoy causing trouble for Gray.

Here’s my only real complaint: Livi and Gray didn’t have the usual ‘spark’ that I’ve come to expect from a Lydia Dare book. They seemed to like each other well enough but weren’t really wild about each other until near the very end of the book, and even then it didn’t feel like the paranormal ‘mate bond’ that assures me they will be together and passionately in love forever. Don’t get me wrong, they get their HEA, and I think they’ll be together forever, but it’s a bit more tame than I’m used to from this series.

It looks like Gray’s brother Archer might be the hero in the next book – I enjoyed the back-and-forth between Archer and Lady Sophia and definitely there’s a history (and tension) between them that is begging to be explored. Also, it looks like the author is setting up for some future books to possibly take place in New Orleans *fingers crossed*! Since I live in NOLA, I have a soft spot for books set here and am looking forward to that possibility…

Recommendations:
One of the things I love about these books is that they appeal to fans of historical romance and fans of paranormal romance – it’s the best of both worlds!!

My Thoughts and Review

Always looking forward to reading Lydia Dares books I do enjoy them and love this series.

I enjoyed this read as the characters were a lot of fun to read about.Grayson being a black sheep of the family so to speak .Then there is Liviana the feisty werewolf with a tart tongue. Both character's give as good as they get with there banner of words they are well matched opponents for one another.

Grayson and Liviana meet when Grayson and his mother are paying a call to a neighbor. Liviana was sent to her grand-father from America by her father forcing her to become a lady and finally settle down and marry giving up here carefree lifestyle and wayward ways. Liviana will not going willingly and so the adventure begins.

From the very first meeting between Liviana and Grayson you sense there chemistry that they have between them. The thing is that Liviana is most bold and lets Grayson know that she knows exactly what he is giving him a total shock and setting him of guard. And in return she shows him a marking on her person letting him know exactly what she is.The playing field is now leveled !

These two have incredible chemistry and sexual tension between them yet knowing nothing will ever become of it as her grandfather will never approve of the match even if they acted on there feelings there pending romance would bed oomed from the get go.

I enjoyed this story a lot.The characters made you laugh quiet a lot throughout the story making this story a fun read.I do however have a couple of things that I did not like though . One of them is the fact that Liviana's mother left England because of the rigid society she lived in yet Liviana's father is now sending his daughter to England to experience those same constraints society puts on women making it no less then a prison .And the very one reason her mother left to go to America in the first place. I just wanted to smack him! What the heck was he thinking? Was he trying to break her spirit and her self worth ?

My only other complaint is that I felt the romance between the couple when it finally did happened that it was a bit rushed. The couple had gone to great pains to fight the attraction between them for so long that I expected to be so wowed and I expected to see an explosive encounter when it did happen that all and all it would have been worth the pain and suffering this couple had to endure to finally be together. But no fireworks ...

But, the over all story was a pleasant read. Liviana made this story engrossing as she was just so feisty and full of vigor that you new she was a worthy adversary and she would somehow find a way out of her situation. As as for the dreamy good for nothing Rake Grayson you feel his pain as he does not feel worthy of Liviana as he feels he has nothing to really offer her .Even though he feels all of this he can't stop feeling predatory toward her and it may be the down fall for both of them.

We meet Liviana brothers who stir up the pot making the story even more livlier. And the pages are graced by past characters which I so enjoy from story to story.Be sure to read the entire series along with this current story you won't be disappointed it was a fantastic series ! Loved it ! And as always looking forward to the next book....

Recommend read to all !

After finishing reading the first book in the Hadley Brothers Trilogy, The Wolf Who Loved Me, I thought for certain we’d see dear Grayson matched with Lucy. To my wonder and delight, we are introduced to newcomer, American Liviana (Livi) Mayeux. She is shipped, against her choice, to live with the maternal grandfather she’s never met. Livi looks for every opportunity to steal her way back home to New Orleans to reunite with her Lycan brothers and father.

Upon arriving at her grandfather’s, Livi is immediately deemed unfit for the ton and requires schooling in the arts of society. Grayson’s mother, a friend of Livi’s deceased mother, is recruited to help “make Livi into a lady.” Forced to accompany his mother, Grayson is immediately struck by Livi’s beauty and her lack of lady-like charm. Soon the whole gang, including many characters from the previous books, are headed to Bath for some socialization.

I was taken with Livi immediately! She is feisty, challenging, and something that Grayson is unsure how to handle. Upon first meeting, Livi recognizes that Gray is a Lycan from his birthmark and proceeds to tell him how she has a similar mark on her thigh! I love how she makes Gray all tongue-tied. It’s an amusing and refreshing change of pace that Livi is from a Lycan family and recognizes what Gray is immediately.

Gray and Livi are a romantically beautiful pair. They are both so uncertain what to do with the other. Their feelings overwhelm them each. One of my favorite scenes was a private moment between the two, while Gray teaches Livi to dance. The interaction is sublimely wonderful and touching. My heart was racing along side Livi’s heart. She took a chance and opened up, something uncommon in many historical romances. I'm thankful that Gray didn't just blow her off. He made it clear he wants her, but they can't go that route. I ached for them both... Stuck in a society with rules with which they aren't meant to conform.

One of the other things I enjoyed in Wolfishly Yours is the banter between the brothers Hadley, Livi and Sophie. We were introduced to Sophie in the previous story, and she is a clear match for the eldest Hadley brother, Archer. The group on whole is witty and smart; their play on words and jabs are such fun. I love the brash improperness of the dialogue!

Of course, not everything goes smoothy, and things begin to look bleak for our couple. First, Gray just can’t do anything right to save his life. He is falling for Livi, but thinks he cannot court her (well, her grandfather did say to stay away). He makes so many problems for himself, including telling Livi he is being forced to marry her, when that really isn’t the truth of his heart.

To further the problems, continual misunderstandings cause for a complete breakdown in communications. I will admit that I was extremely frustrated at a couple points, and I was worried that I would get too annoyed to read. Thankfully, much to my surprise, the entire situation was handled quite well and was actually fairly riveting. Although much of the finale set up felt a bit contrived, the pieces fell into place, and I was extremely satisfied.

In the end, Wolfishly Yours was a very enjoyable read, and probably my favorite of the series to date. The shifter aspect was more pronounced in this book than the last, but the story is primarily a historical over paranormal romance. The pace was quick, action keeping the story progressing forward. Characters, both new and old, were fun. I really loved the "Moonlighting-esque" banter and that Livi isn't a proper English woman. I feel all of these features gave new life to this regency series. Finally, the romance was sweet and appropriate for period piece. Overall a wonderful addition to Ms. Dare’s long-running crossover series.

So I adore Lydia Dare books, they are fun light reads that always warm your heart. The paranormal aspect in this book is so light that even those who do not enjoy paranormal would not be fazed. I think lovers of paranormal as well as historical romance will love this books and series.

I adore the Hadley brothers especially the twins! They are just so delightfully roguish and their intentions are good but they always seem to be off when it comes to actually enacting their good intensions. Poor Gray, he keeps trying to do right by Livi but every time he tries to do something good it backfires so horribly onto Livi. Because of Gray’s missteps she is nearly RUINED in the eyes of the Ton. From the minute Gray laid eyes on Livi he was entranced by her, not just by her beauty but by her brash and straight forward manner. However, he knew that she in in England maybe not by choice but her fate is sealed, to find a rich, respected member of the Ton. Gray knows he is neither and that he should stay far far from this ravishing beauty but against his will he keeps gravitating towards her and keeps on fumbling. Gray is such a sweetheart and watching him just epically fail is quite entertaining. Even though he just fails at every turn you just can’t help but love him anyway, he has a certain charm about him that just sucks you in. Maybe it’s his easy smile or even as he’s knocked down he perseveres anyway. He is nothing if not determined. What I love the most about him is he adores Livi just the way she is, he has no desire to change her and thinks she’s the perfect “Lady” just as she is. But even if he does manage to win his lady, what would he do with her?

I loved Liviana! She is brash, speaks her mind and knows what she wants! And what she wants is to go home! Livi was sent to England by way of Louisiana by her father to be made into a lady. She wants nothing to do with being a “lady”. She liked her life running wild in the bayou’s with her Lycan brothers. So far the only good thing she has found about England is Gray. She is drawn to Gray more than any other person but he’s not “respectable” and definitely not a good match! Every move that Livi makes ends up being a disaster and affects her respectability on the marriage mart. She is on the very edge of being ruined and sent to a convent. Just when she has decided to throw everything behind being a lady she is yet again fuel for the gossip fire. Livi certainly handles impending disgrace fairly well. Lol If it hadn’t been the threat of a convent she probably wouldn’t have cared a whit what society thought of her. She can definitely hold her own again the disrespectable Hadley brothers; she can even match them disgrace to disgrace. Livi is fun and sassy and doesn’t take anything from any of the rambunctious males in her life. I love Livi and Grey together; they certainly make waves through England’s Ton.

This is my second book written by the ladies that compromise the Lydia Dare Nome de Plume and I am completely captivated. I am currently working on gathering all of their books but like all things it takes time. As part of a series so very often you hear a book can stand alone and it can't. Or you will read a book and it spends so much time explaining the past books that you get frustrated. I am so pleased to say that Wolfishly Yours escapes both of those traps. Yes, after reading this I want to go back and find out information that was learned in previous books but I am not overwhelmed with information unnecessary to this book.

Grayson Hadley is a dog.. ok he's a wolf but he has the manners of a, well you get the picture. He is a rogue and a rake, an impoverished younger brother and a man with no couth.. In frustration his oldest brother the Alpha of the pack, has hired a Lady to give Grayson and his three brothers comportment lessons. To teach them how to get on in society. Yeah, not working out so well..

Liviana Mayeux is a wild child, the only daughter of a French American from New Orleans and the daughter of an Earl. She has been allowed to run wild until an obnoxious condescending overbearing priest convinces her father that she needs to learn how to be a lady and he sends her off to her Grandfather. A Grandfather that hates her father and resents the fact that his only child left him for a "Frenchman". He shows his resentment by demanding Livi become a perfect lady.. *rolls eyes* To that end he calls upon his daughter's best friend to help. She and her companion and sons set out to help launch Livi.

Only problem is, Livi has no desire to change, the two sons are rogues of the first order and poor Lady Sophie can not create miracles. I enjoyed this book because Livi and Gray were not typical anything. As wild as the Hadley Brothers are, Livi calls them tame.. her brothers are just that much worse. While Livi is on her path to secure a husband, others conspire against her. Rocked by scandal, Livi and Gray are forced to marry and yet even when it's what they both want obstacles practically leap out at them. I am completely enjoying Lydia Dare's wit and unique way of writing. It's fun to see Lycan's in Regency England.. I mean seriously a Proper Wolf? Isn't that an Oxymoron?

If you are looking for a good book, check this one out..

Love is all the sweeter when it triumphs over adversity and the story between Liviana and Grayson is full of delightful surprises amid the thrilling pursuit of a romance family members seem determined to undermine. It’s what they don’t know about each other, the assumptions they have and the revelations that truly push this plot along at a good clip.

Livi’s brothers are a hoot and act as catalysts for some very serious conflicts. They also let loose a hint or two about what Ms. Dare has in store for readers in the future. It wasn’t a huge neon sign moment, but a casual comment during a conversation. It has me excited because what I caught has set the wheels of possibility turning in my brain. I wonder if other readers caught it too. If so, I think it’s a grand idea.

I liked Livi’s character. It was a nice switch and refreshing to explore what would happen if an Englishman met an American woman and both just happened to be a part of the wolf culture. I enjoyed the dynamic of a man living in a society who has no idea his kind exists versus a woman who comes from a place that seems to have allowed her a freedom the English wolves can only dream of. Grayson trying to rein Livi in was fun reading.

Watching Grayson fall in love was quite entertaining. I liked him as a hero, a man and a lover for Livi. I also felt his close relationship with his brothers and his adversarial relationship with his tutor and Dash, his pack leader, provided a depth of character that made him an easy man to fall in love with. His sense of humor was sweet too, but it was his determination to win Livi’s hand and the lengths he went through to obtain it that gave him the greatest romance hero appeal.

As with most books written by Ms. Dare, readers can expect some nail-biting action, light but intense drama and a sense of justified triumph when Grayson and Livi emerge from all their adventures as a couple with an amazing future ahead of them. There’s never a dull moment and the characters that populate this novel are lively, full of great dialogue and make awesome contributions to the plot conflict.

Another thing for readers to look forward to are the stolen moments when the hero and heroine get to explore their attraction in steamy ways. In past books by Ms. Dare, those scenes usually are well written and entertaining and that is true in this book as well.

Wolfishly Yours is wonderful romance peppered with moments of pure fun, daring do and grand gestures that will engage and satisfy readers that require solid happily ever afters. This book delivers.

Reading Between The Wines!

Grayson Hadley is one of the three no good Hadley men known for their trouble making, rakish, and utterly inappropriate reputations. In fact, their reputations are in such tatters that his half brother, and Alpha of their pack, has ordered him and his brothers to have lessons with a prim and proper tutor to teach them manners and propriety. His twin brother has recently fallen into the trappings of marital bliss, but that is a venture thatGrayson never plans to take. That is until he meets Miss Liviana Mayeux, the granddaughter of his well-to-do neighbor. And if his family and society thought HE was a handful, well that's just cause that haven't gotten a good look at Miss Mayeux who loves to chat about her brothers wrestling gators in the swamps of her home inLouisiana. Or how she repeats the swear words she has learned from sailors on the docks in the shipyards. Heck, she makes Grayson look downright civilized.

Miss Liviana Mayeux cannot believe her father has sent her to this horrible country to become a member of the ton in London when she'd much rather be at home with her unruly family in Louisiana. She does her best to plot and scheme to get away from her overbearing grandfather who's bound and determined to find her a respectable English husband, but all of her ideas never seem to pan out. She begins to think that there can't be anything interesting in England until she meets Grayson Hadley, whom she quickly becomes smitten with. But will Grayson return her interest, or will she end up bowing to her Grandfather's will to marry a respectable member of the ton?

I love, love, love Lydia Dare's work, and her Westfield Wolves Series has been excellent reading so far! If you've yet to read Dare's work, then you're totally missing out. Go pick up copies of all of their books today! Every book provides a humorous, unique love story that is unforgettable and I promise you their totally worth the splurge. Wolfishly Yours just left me drooling for the third book in the series and it's going to absolutely kill me to wait for it. Five star toast all the way, and I hope you read on to see this extremely amusing American heroine blurt out entirely horrid swear words in French at what could only be described as the worst times to do it.

A delicious treat from the writing team of Tammy Falkner & Jodie Pearson otherwise known as Lydia Dare. Wolfishly Yours features the wonderfully romantic love story of charming rapscallion Grayson Hadley & beguiling beauty Liviana Mayeux.
Grayson Hadley falls fast & hard for American hoyden Liviana Mayeux. They are two of a kind. Tall, Dark & Lycan Gray is considered by the haute ton as being nothing more than a penniless rogue. Too wild for polite company the three Hadley brothers have been secretly taking lessons from Lady Sophia on how to conduct themselves in society. After despairing of her wild antics Livi's father has given her into the care of her English grandfather in hopes that he might make a lady of her. So she too ends up taking lessons from Lady Sophia. Little wonder that these two are kindred souls. Yet, despite their obvious instant attraction everyone keeps warning poor Gray not to ruin Livi's chances at making a good marriage. Of all the nerve ! Did anyone think to ask Livi what she wanted ? After Livi's reputation is harmed by her continued association with him, Gray ardently asks her grandfather for her hand. They are both secretly pleased. But will an inept villain ruin their chance at happiness ? Readers will have to read the story in it's entirety to find out for themselves.
This story was a delight to read .... filled with passion & romance. The character interaction was spot on. The storyline captivated mr from start to finish. Of course, it helps that I am partial to wolves & have been intrigued with those Hadley brothers since meeting them during Dash & Caitrin's story ( Tamed by the Wolf ) . Just as I am now facinated by the Mayeux brothers, Armand & Etienne . Hopefully I will be reading their stories in the near future. Next up , however ,should be Archer's story. I'm guessing that I already know who his love interest will be. If so that one should be as entertaining as this one has been.
But back to this one. It was a sweetly romantic story. A lighthearted romp that kept my interest so that the story just flew by. I recommend this one to both fans of the paranormal & the historical genre. A flying five stars for Wolfishly Yours !!!

I received this ARC via Netgalley & the publisher, Sourcebooks, in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am a fan of Dare's flair for writing such beautiful and entertaining historical romance and especially her Westfield Wolves. I am attracted to her very sexy, very humorous characters and the witty dialogue that Dare pens in her books.

Although Wolfishly Yours is not my favorite of this series, it was a pleasure reading about the familiar characters that I have grown to love. And I am happy that the Gray has finally received his HEA.

Liviana Mayeux, a native to New Orleans, is familiar with wolves. Her father and two brothers are Lycan and howl at the full moon every month. She just never thought she would end up falling for her very own furry wolf. When she is sent to England by her father's command, she is determined to find a way back home.

Livi's father regrets not raising his only daughter properly-more as a lady and not the outspoken woman she is today. So she is shipped overseas to England, where her grandfather is determined to not only transform her into a respectable lady, but to marry her off to one of the ton-a proper British nobleman.

The Hadley brothers are far from proper and respectable. In fact, lady Sophia is in charge of these ruffians with the hope of taming their boorish ways. A task that she finds almost impossible, especially when it comes to Archer.

Lady Hadley, Grayson's mother, is put in charge of introducing Miss Livi to society and all good intentions fall to the wayside. Grayson knows he is not the best match for Livi Mayeux, especially if she desires to be a respectable lady. But his efforts to put Livi in the best light turn out to mar her reputation. Now he is left with no choice but to propose marriage--at the strong urging of his half-brother Dash.

What I find overall appealing about this story is the humorous dialogue between the brothers and how Gray stumbles his way around the heroine, Livi. His good intentions always seem to meet with a blundering mishap, which causes quite a stir in society.

But what I found lacking was the strong spark that usually is present in Dare's books. Gray and Livi's connection was only luke-warm at best and there were no real surprises in the story.

Overall, Wolfishly Yours is a sweet, charming installment to the Westfield Wolves and fans of Dare will be at least satisfied that there is more to come.

Wolfishly Yours is the most recent and latest release in the series....and can I just say STELLLAR!! I loved this book so much!!! I think I enjoyed it way more than the previous book "The Wolf Who Loved Me". This story has so much going for it. It starts out a little slower pace than I am used to with this author, but as the story progresses, it only gets more fascinating and even more amazing and keeps pulling the reader in with each chapter. As I kept chugging along, I felt like it only got better the more I read. There was so much I enjoyed about this latest installment, and I think Gray may be my favorite brother. Grayson, is a scoundrel with wolfish tendancies. He is a fighter, hates the rules, and despises being tamed like a dog with his tail tucked between his legs. Livi, feels betrayed by her family, and only aches for freedom. She knows that her life is changing way too swiftly. All she wants is to return back to New Orleans, that is until she meets Gray. A man whose taste for freedom rivals her own. A man whose kisses makes her feel like she can soar.

A riveting romantic tale, a story of magical fun, tender sensuality, witty characters to give you barrels of laughs, and a story that becomes more enchanting with each page!! DELIGHTFULLY WOLFISH!!
