I met this author when he just got out of this life. Many people don't believe his story, but it's the truth. He isn't making anything up, or embellishing. This is real and he is authentic.

This book! Even though it’s nonfiction it read like a novel and I couldn’t put it down. Ramirez had such a hard, troubled life, one which led him deep into the occult of Palo Mayombe and Santeria. Devil worshipping was his thing and he was good at it. He was on a path of destruction and hell until met Jesus Christ.
This is a story or redemption and God’s healing power, no matter who you are or what your life looks like Jesus is still more powerful and He can deliver you from anything.

Our God is mighty to deliver!
There is no sin to gross that He can't forgive and no sinner to lost that he can't save.
I first heard about John Ramirez on Youtube. I heard him narrate his testimony and I decided to dig a little deeper on him. I found two of his books that I wanted to read; Out of the Devil's Cauldron and Unmasking the Devil.
Out of the Devil's Cauldron is the story of his exploits in the kingdom of darkness, serving false religions named Santeria, Spiritism and Palo Mayombe and how God mercies found him.
This book is good for materialists who believe that what the physical eyes can see is all there is. There is a real supernatural realm that is more real than the physical world we live in and events and activities in that realm affects our lives.
I will have a word or two to share when I am done reading Unmasking the Devil.

The book is wonderful. It is a book about John Ramirez's life from a child, into the occult, to serving Jesus. He truly blessed us by opening up and letting us know just how deep iniquity had entered his heart and how involved he was in the occult(santeria, palo mayombe, spiritualism). The way God answered his request by revealing to him who truly holds the power also paints a perfect picture of the humility and infinite love of the Great I AM. It's eye opening to know what the enemy is out there doing but at the same time a wonderful love story of grace and mercy. I believe it would make a great movie. It is very touching. It reminds me of Paul, the Apostle; the worst of the worst, saved by grace and mercy, radically transformed and never looked back.

Out of the Devil's Cauldron, written by a previous satanic priest, John Ramirez, was a book about the story of the author's experience as a satanic wizard, and all the evil deeds that he has done for Satan. This book was the book that I read for the summer assignment project #2. I liked this book very much because it was tremendously helpful for my Christian faith. My favorite part of this book was when the author ended his life as a satanic priest and sincerely repented his sins to God, despite any threats from the devils that he worshiped. My favorite character of this book was, of course, Jesus Christ because he was the one who saved Mr.Ramirez from satans and accepted him as one of his children. In addition, Jesus helped Mr.Ramirez's life to be more valuable and meaningful, by leading him out of the devil's cauldron. After I read this book, I was able to thank Lord Jesus for his sincere love and the salvation that he will offer anyone by Mr.Ramirez's realistic testimonies. Last but not least, I would love to recommend this book to Christians who are indevout because my personal faith aroused by this book, and I think that every people who read this book will be filled with Holy Spirit.

a new perspective
I am a religious studies major and learned about Santeria in a class on pagan traditions. Academia makes it appear so harmless... I am astounded at the truth behind the religion. I thought the worship of various spirits was a psychological imagined authenticity, a man-constructed reality, but I allow myself to be open and stand corrected. I have been an agnostic/backsliding (angry) Christian for a few years now, but reading this is waking me up to the realities of spiritual warfare. To be honest, it greatly disturbs me that this eternal hell of fire and brimstone exists, but if this is the reality, then I consider this worth concerning myself with. I still don't know how to praise or pray, my heart and mind are still a bit bitter, my will is stubborn, but I think reading this brings me one step closer to a softened heart and mind. Thank you for your testimony.

Powerful testimony
Opened my eyes to things I didn't know but needed to. Satan is real. And he is powerful. He is deceiving many who have a hole in their hearts which truly can only be filled by Jesus Christ who has the ultimate power! As the author states, the Bible affirms that people perish for lack of knowledge. After reading this book I am now able to more powerfully intercede for people involved in Santeria and other occult worship.

This book is an exceptional, real life spiritual journey of John Ramiez. I personally found it very awesome since it made sense to me - I personally believe that there is darkness and light in this world. There are people engaging in darkness with the devil instructing them to do unspeakable violence and crimes to innocent people, animals and environment, and there are good people too, who want to be loving, kind and helpful always towards everyone and to everything around them. Even if they don't acknowledge it, these good people are truly children of God too and God is watching over them always and blesses them.
I personally believe that acts of violence do not stem just directly from the criminal's mind, but is encouraged and inspired from a far more sinister source - the devil and his demons. While many of us don't give much thought to it and simply 'ignore' as an act of the mind's imagination or fantasy, the contrary of this is true. When things go wrong in our lives we always blame God, we never blame the devil who acts subtly in our lives too.
In this book, John Ramiez does this excellent work of exposing the devil and his schemes. The entire work is subtle and not like the way it is shown now a days in horror films. Be prepared to be surprised, since evil can just walk into our lives if we are not careful with what we say, think or act. Doorways to darkness can be opened if we become careless in how we are in our everyday lives.
There are many reasons why a person can start to act in darkness - it could be when things don't go the way we really wanted it to happen, continuous failure in life, the atrocious behavior and judgement from society, pseudo religious people, religious institutions that don't function in the love of God, death of a loved one, abuse, ill health or any other pain in life. But we always blame God and not the devil. Its always easy to blame God, isn't it not?
With the devil, there is no mercy, love or forgiveness. Its a never ending road towards complete, pitch black darkness. There will be no glimmer of hope, no love, no looking forward towards the future, because there is never going to be any future when we choose darkness. This of course, will not happen within a day, it will take some time, but it will eventually happen if we are not careful in out spiritual lives.
We take so much pain and plan our daily/months/years of our lives, but why is spending just 15 mins of our everyday life in silent thanks and prayer to God so hard? Its so easy to postpone and be lazy, but that's exactly what the dark side wants you to do - become spiritually lazy and go away from God. It is at this precise moment when the devil and his servants will act and attack you - all spiritually. This is by no means a story or a tale or a fantasy story that I'm telling you. It is the truth. Whether or not one chooses to believe is one's own choice.
In this book, John has described the dark truths of life that he had suffered before becoming a friend and child of Lord Jesus. He had literally accepted the devil as his 'dad'. He had unfortunately turned towards the devil since he always wanted a father figure. His real dad, while he was alive, was always abusive towards him and his brothers and mom. They lived in dire poverty and his father used to always come home fully drunk and hit his mom in front of him and his brothers.
Living such a terrible life everyday made him to go in search of a different source of support, help - from the dark side. He was into darkness most of his life, until he realized that nothing - money, women, power or devil can ever fill the void hole of his heart except for God and God alone.
John was finally able to make the right choice and was freed from the clutch of darkness after a lot of trials, and has been living a fulfilled life with Lord Jesus ever since. His life is still not smooth and always happy, but at least he has now the grace and presence of God always with him always to make the correct decision and face all difficulties in life without feeling lonely as he has accepted Lord Jesus as his dad now.

A must read for anyone interested in understanding the reality of spiritual warfare. John Ramirez worked for Satan and provides a chilling glimpse of that world and its traps. Praise God he was rescued from that life and is now an evangelist for Christ.

Wow. I knew from the description that this would be about spiritual warfare and one man’s personal testimony. What I did not expect was to be convicted of my need to pray even more for the protection of my family, friends, and community. Ramirez’s story of his life as a devil worshipper and his conversion and salvation through Jesus is nothing short of miraculous. Hearing his stories from his relationship with his personal demons and the power he received from them (including the power to have someone killed) is scary, because it’s real and is happening today. BUT hearing how Christians are protected from Satan and his workers was even more reassuring than the demonic power was disturbing. Our God is in control, and this book shows how God’s power and Jesus’ grace always win. I could only listen to this in bits and pieces (usually a chapter at a time) because of the real-ness of his experiences, but I learned a lot, and this book will stick with me.

Eye Opener
Coming out of Roman Catholicism and becoming a Christian about a year ago was the best decision I ever made. And I am thankful to see that it is true. This was a great read and I recommend to all of us who were once confused.

That was so powerful, and sometimes difficult to read because it really went to those dark places. But those final chapters when he finally gave in to Jesus were so wonderful and made me teary eyed. Incredibly powerful testimony.

Excellent testimony
I couldn’t put this book down! I am a Christian and have seen God do incredible miracles including casting out demons in Jesus name. I was interested to read his testimony and glean any extra revelation on spiritual warfare. An amazing testimony.

It was hard to put down!
What a great book and was well written. I'm SO HAPPY that JESUS called him!!!! I DON'T know HOW ppl can get use to having them demons hanging around them day in and day out and talking to them like buddy's!!!! I got into tarot cards for a while and then read on witch craft a bit and even tried a little spell but I weren't SERIOUS about it and I THOUGHT I KNEW EVERYTHING I needed to know about the bible and thought it was even ok to be a white witch!!!! And I BELIEVE in JESUS, ALWAYS have and ALWAYS WILL, but I was having a TERRIBLE time in my life and I didn't KNOW I was going thru ptsd at the time and was seeking the WRONG kind of ATTENTION!!!! I look back now and I had SO MANY WEIRD things happening to me like I saw this woman walking late at night while almost winter and it was FREEZING out but she was in BLACK weird shorts that went to her knees and a black weird tank top and black hair,I could SEE that her face was VERY WHITE and I DON'T know HOW I saw and knew this but her lips were VERY RED and she was walking like she was drunk , WELL my boyfriend and I got about 2 miles down the road talking about how fucked up she looked and we parked the car and got out and use lit a cigarette and he lit a joint up, WELL NOT EVEN 3 or 4 minutes went by and I saw HER walking or something towards the car, I said get the FUCK in the car NOW cuz I KNEW she WASN'T RIGHT, he was stunned and COULDN'T MOVE, but he did FINALLY get in the car and locked the door JUST as she got her face to the window and she LOOKED at US MOSTLY ME and she was saying SOMETHING and she had BLACK EYES and our hair stood UP on our necks and arm's, there was something NOT RIGHT with HER! It was VERY SCARY!!!! I can say now that it was SOMETHING coming for me cuz I was playing with those STUPID cards and other things, so I stopped and I threw them away cuz u had bad luck with EVERY POSSIBLE thing in my lifE until I got rid of those things and stars PRAYING AGAIN !!! I DON'T FEAR ANY EVIL NOW and I NEVER play or practice anything except my kjv BIBLE and JESUS is the ONLY WAY to go!!!!! I JUST can't BELIEVE the STUFF that he went thru with that shit!! But the GOOD LORD SENT a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN to him to lead John to JESUS cuz John DIDN'T ALWAYS have a NASTY EVIL heart and his love for his daughter proved THAT! What REALLY is SAD is that the mother of his child got the poor little kid into it and now she's SUCKED ALL the way IN and the mother was VERY stupid for introducing her kid to that life style! BUT I'm SO SO SO SO HAPPY that John made it out and is practicing something WAY WAY BETTER then EVIL now days!!!🙏😇 I just wonder if the evil EVER tries to get to him anymore and my other question is I THOUGHT that once you sell your soul that you could NOT gain it BACK BUT, I THINK if the PERSON REALLY REALLY WANTS to TRUST and LOVE the LORD AND is TRULY SORRY for doing the WORST thing that COULD be committed, that you CAN get saved BECAUSE THRU JESUS ALL is POSSIBLE!!!! I stumbled upon this book thanks to the Goodreads algorithm. I'd heard my mum talking about John Ramirez and how God brought him out of a life devoted to witchcraft but I'd never read any of his work or seen any material featuring him. So I figured I'd give this book a try.
About the book
It's about John, a boy who grew up in a dysfunctional family and soon joined an occult religion to fill a void of belonging that his absent father created in his life.
The book talks about his journey in the occult, how it began, the power, prestige and wealth he gained, how he started communing with demonic spirits, cursing people and how God came and met him.
Experience reading the book
Reading this book after Victor D'monte's book on Discerning Spirits helped me understand how the demonic can operate in people's lives and helped me recognize just how vast the spiritual realm can be.
Before reading this book, I'd heard about witchcraft and black magic but never really believed in it. It just seemed like superstition that naive people practiced in their rural parts of the world.
But reading this book has made me reconsider a lot of what I consider silly, especially in the Indian context, since witchcraft and black magic are so prevalent in our culture.
It woke me up to the spiritual reality of these practices and the power of Christ to liberate people from demonic oppression and about the freedom & security we have in Christ!
Things that stood out from the book
**Giving the Devil a Foothold into Your Life
“If people could see the evil that’s veiled from their eyes, what tarot reading does to a person, and the danger parents put upon their children by getting them involved in Halloween, they would shriek in horror.”
The book helped me appreciate just how quickly Satan can get a foothold into people's lives through seemingly innocuous things like tarot card reading, idol worship, and involvement with mediums or fortune tellers.
By getting them to agree to do a fortune reading, they allowed me to usher them through an open door to the satanic world. I exposed them to an evil they had no idea of, an evil that would bring all sorts of misfortune upon their lives.
Through the book, John talks about how he used this as a way to open people to the influence of the evil one over their life.
It's also made me stop and think before involving myself with any Halloween events or opening up my life to Satan through hidden sins that so easily entangle.
***The Power of PRAYER
“Finally I realized these were the nasty Christians praying for their neighborhoods, their communities, their families—the prayers of the people I hated the most.
Wherever these praying Christians lived, I couldn’t penetrate the neighborhood. I got in, but I couldn’t do the evil acts I had come to perform. So I would move on to the next neighborhood. This was my calling, and it was also what I loved to do.”
This book greatly encouraged me about how truly great our God is! Indeed, "All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time!" (Jude 1:25)
You all might find this silly, but throughout the book, John acknowledged just how powerful the prayers of the saints are in breaking strongholds of darkness and fighting against the principles and powers of the dark world.
***The Grace of God
There's a thought-provoking tale John wrote about how when he was still a devil worshiper and hitman he got a request to take down a Christian lady who was involved with another married man. Normally he charges a high fee but he was happy to destroy that lady's life for free so he performs the witchcraft and wait for her to die.
As months went by there was no news reported about her condition. So I started one night to call on the demons assigned to kill her, but there was no response
One night while at home, I heard the voice of the devil telling me that his mission of killing her had been aborted. I was so angry I kept asking why.
“Why do we have to stop now?” I asked. “It’s just a matter of days and she will be dead. I don’t want to stop. Kill her. My reputation is on the line. She must die.”
The devil, with a loud voice, said, “No! Her God said leave her alone.
If that doesn't tell you something about the grace of God, I don't know what else will.
Overall
In any case, this has been an excellent book, 5 stars for me. I highly recommend believers read it. It'll strengthen your faith in the Lord, and you'll appreciate just how POWERFUL and MIGHTY our God is.
It'll help you take Ephesians 6 more seriously, putting on the armour of God!

I saw John Ramirez's testimony on Youtube a few times before I picked up his book. As someone who was raised in a Christian home, and had always known the love of Jesus Christ, I haven't seen or even heard of many of the things talked about in Out of the Devil's Cauldron. I was shocked by some of the things that were discussed, because I had no idea that kind of thing actually takes place. I have always grouped witches in with things like vampires, and werewolves, as a fantasy not reality. John Ramirez has an amazing testimony about his life as a servant of the Devil for 25 years, and how he eventually turned his life over to Christ. There was one contradicting fact in the book that made me question the truthfulness of the book, but not enough to stop reading.

Great testimony, great book!
So filled with joy to see the past of a little boy's life, though strangled with pain and disappointment, lies and fear, and filled with darkness of the occult, lies and fear again, finally came to an end when John found the truth in Jesus!
It only shows that God is patient in one's foolish beliefs that blind them from His truth (I am one of them) and He will send His own followers strategically to pray for the lost. John is proof of this. His testimony is literally from darkness into the Light.
I hope all who read this find themselves seeing for themselves the truth that no matter where their life is, as John says, there is One named Jesus who loves them greater than anybody else ever can. There's no power greater than God's!

Just Amazing and Intriguing
Not only is the book well-written but it is interesting and Intriguing. It is extremely educational and insightful as John takes you through his story. Praise Jesus for this man of God. God's name is glorified through this testimony. By His wonderful grace and power John was set free. It is a real life story that portrays and demonstrates God's unconditional love and mercy. May the Lord continue to protect and use this wonderful and amazing man of God for His glory, amen.

Wow!
This is a eye opening book! I didn’t know about these types of religions ( satanic), and how they operated. This book gives a first hand account from the eyes of a man who lived and practiced satanic worship. The best eye opening account is how he finally turned his life over to the Lord and the Lord transformed him into an amazing Christian.
I also have been encouraged as a Christian at how effective and how important to God our prayers are!

I Couldn't Put This Book Down! (Kindle Edition)
Excellent autobiography. Very informative & highly enjoyable & never boring. Where's the movie? There has to be a movie about this!

Supernatural deliverance by God
This book was a powerful testimony of the Love of God and his magnificent grace. The book outline the life of John and his involvement with the occult. This book is powerful because you can feel his story. The fact that his father did not show him love and acceptance was an open door to the demonic where he was seemly accepted and loved. Evreryone should read it
I gave this review because this book is amazing to read. It keeps you captivated you are not bored with it. And also it makes aware of how the enemy tries to deceive you in many ways. Very important not to allow yourself to open certain evil doors because the enemy will use anything to full you so you can fall and go to hell. His purpose is that bring you to hell with him!

Awesome book
I could not be more impressed with how real this account appeared and how it constantly gripped me and reflected the truth of Jesus Christ. I first saw his testimony on YouTube, and found out he had written this book. I couldn't put this book down and I recommend it to anybody regardless of where your religious affairs stand.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book though it was very scary indeed. Strangely enough, there were times when I began to question some of the things in the book, not because they were impossible, but because I have never experienced such things before. However, after the read, I looked up so much of what was mention and found corroborating evidence. I'm glad you were saved! Amen and Hallelujah!

I am glad that I was encouraged to read this. It amazes me how God constantly continues to show us how merciful HE truly is. HE really does love us and will deliver us from ANY sin as long as you accept and believe in HIS son Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for delivering John. Through your grace and mercy he was able to show us how much you really love us.
