Bought, along with artisinal toothpicks as a sort of filler to reach $50 so that I could use a coupon at Orvis.

This book is one of those ones for hipsters who perhaps became a bit subconcious about their masculinity so they started to cook but then started adding bacon to everything. Or to compensate for their lack of personality via their cooking.

Broad and unfair assumption, I know--there's a lot of basic and good recipes here, but there's just a bit of like Chive and Bro added in.

My grandsons are getting this for Christmas! They're 21 and 23. Good selection of recipes. Some I've never seen before. In fact, I think I'll buy one for me too.

This is NOT the Joy of Cooking or Bittman's How to Cook Everything. But it is a grand gift for a nephew leaving home. Or a boyfriend who didn't start a subscription to Gourmet in the 8th Grade.
