This edition was the first one that the editor Marta Randall handled alone. It was an interesting mix of short stories. I did notice, you can't help but notice, that the stories get progressively darker as you go along. One could fit into a horror genre well and the last was horrifying but still solidly science fiction. This series is a good one to find as you can, especially in the early ones, find short stories by authors that later became famous and these may be the only place they were printed. All were very well written. The editor choosing and putting in order an arc like this added an interesting dimension to the entire thing. I did like the stories, I was not ready for it to get so dark over the last 5.
