The story "I Am Sam", by Julie Mohr, is a uplifting, touching, and inspiring story to read. It talks about a man with mental retardation who fights and fights to keep his daughter. This book was based on a true story. It made me realize that people with special needs can be independent. It gave me hope for my little brother, Danny. I reccomend this book to anyone who doesn't believe that someone with a neurological disorder can do anything. I think anyone with a family member, or even friend with a mental disability, this book will be right for you. It'll give you faith and hope that they can estblish a normal life. Overall this book is inspiring, and you won't want to put it down. In conclusion,I believe this touching book, deserves a five star rate. This book will inspire you to never give up. It inspired me to never give up on my little brother. I know that there's hope and and possibly a cure with these neurological disorders. This book is amazing.
I had read so many books but all were about women raising child. This book gives you the feeling how hard it is for men to love your daughter but not be able to be a perfect father even willing to be.
A retard father, a cute and very clever daughter and injustice and brutal social justice. This book teaches a lot about LOVE and how much it can be powerful to break down any obstacles and challenges.
This book was very challenging for me to read. My perspective on this book was that it was going to be an easy read. Well i thought wrong. This book was very hard to read and had too high of vocabulary for even myself. The phrases like "I am Sam" and "Sam said hello" were just too hard for me to understand. Don't buy this book.
I thought this book was really good. I thought that it must be so hard for someone with disabilities to raise a child. Especially when it is a man trying to raise a girl because he has no idea how to.
I love this book because its about how a man is abnormal and he raise a 7 year old but the court wont let him raise her so he hire a lawyer and he has win to get his child back.
