El eterno presente es una reflexión y reacción efímera de un hombre cuya vida quedo en medio de una encrucijada desdibujada por los eventos del 11 de Septiembre. Su percepción y teología integral (muy ambigua) pinta un dictamen ambiguo sobre los retos que el hombre "posmoderno" tiene en el tercer milenio. Las bases teológicas tanto exegéticas del autor asumen una unanimidad y entendimiento comun. Silva formula premisas lógicas e ilógicas aveces con inconsistencias. Hay demasiadas generalizaciones y presuposiciones que no se explican. La tesis debe ser re definida y aclarada en términos del postmodernismo.

A pesar de las claras falencias de este libro, es importante resaltar el precioso lenguaje en el cual fue escrito; un Español clásico, poético e intelectual. Es ciertamente una ventana clave hacia la idiosincracia de America Latina. Hay muchas piezas aquí escritas dignas de refinar y explotar. Fue una lectura rica en cultura y sincera en emoción.
