Caroline, a werewolf and princess of the Golden of the realm, has discovered a new love in her vampire captor. She's willing to risk everything, even her life, to prove to him she loves him and has forsaken all others including her family and her pack.
This first offering from Victoria Embers, erotic author, is the beginning of a short story series. The author explains that fact from the beginning. Indie Authors do not have to adhere to previous publishing world standards in their releases. That fact is one of the best things about being an Indie Author. I don't consider the length of the piece to deter from its quality in the least. I am looking forward to the next release from this author with great anticipation!
This Is the First SHORT STORY from Victoria Embers and it was amazing. I'm hoping that there will more to come.I would recommend this short story to all my friends !!
Caroline and Raphael met under a strained situation. She was suppose to be his pet and maybe hunted for the games. I really got into this novella and as soon as I hit the last page went and got the other one so I could see what happens.
I love books that I hate to put down for any reason..... And that includes to use having to stop reading to use the restroom ...to vacuum...eat... But alas I eventually take small breaks. Once again she's done it, and captured 100% of my attention and I can't wait to start of book 2. Victoria's style of writing is wonderful. she gives the perfect balance of romance, action, suspense and humor. I enjoy how her books grab your attention from the start and keeps the thrill all the way till the last word written.
Not only has the author added a warning about mature material, she has added an apology to any reader who thinks the story is a little on the short side. I have to admit that last bit did make me chuckle, as I happen to be a reader who will moan if a story is too short, especially a short story. I mean hey it isn't as if we know that the short story might be...well umm kinda short. I still moan though, especially if it's a good story. Anyway enough waffling let's get down to the nitty gritty naughty short. First of all this must be some super talented love-making vampire for her to just forget all about her home and pack. Second, sorry no it is not comfortable being buck naked all of the time. Even nudists/naturists wear the occasional snow boots or mittens. It needs an edit for errors and missing words. Example:'I want you to be with you forever.' I can't fault the enthusiasm in this piece though and if the author is more diligent with her editing then I imagine her erotic tales will appeal to quite a few readers.
I found this on a "free erotica" list and couldn't resist. The blurb drew me in: werewolves & vampires! Seeing that it was a short sample, I settled in for an enjoyable, quick read and Ms. Embers provided. I was enthralled with the struggles (both external and internal) that Caroline and Raphael share provided for a tense and amazing romance. The reason that I give her a 4 instead of a 5 is that I feel she would have done better to have at least one beta reader suggest places where she could have tightened her language, said things in a better way. I hope to continue in part #2 and find that her writing has improved. I'd really like to see what happens with Raphael's uncle and "the games."
Novella/Short Story Ratings Book ♥ 1 Stars Author ♥♥ 2 stars Total ♥ 1.5 stars
I really really hate giving a novella or short story a 1. I did give the author 2 stars because she at least warned us that it was a very short story. I know that it was short but where in the world was the story line? I felt like absolutely nothing happened and my entire paper on unions had more meaning then this book. A huge let down.
This was a big let down:( 1.5 stars Fine it's short, really short, but the story line was basically non existent and the characters ... Well I can't tell you much, there's no development.
Oh and there's way too many disclaimer on this book when there's barely anything happening. Such a waste.
Ok there no other was of saying this,"I WOULDN'T EVEN CALL THIS A SHORT SHORT STORY". Funny this is, it was so awesome. There was no way to even say anything about the characters, the book was so short there was really no character development. I don't even know how to the two even got in their situation in the first place. The pages were enticing and steamy.
The story has possibilities, but it just kind of ends. I was left with a 'that's it'? feeling. There was really no ending. Maybe it is going to be in the next book, but I got the feeling they are all going to be individual stories. Perhaps, when it is extended we will have a better ending.
I picked up this freebie at Amazon. The story has possibilities, but there was really no ending, maybe it is going to be in the next book, but I got the feeling they are all going to be individual stories. This was a big let down:( .
Conquest: My Vampire Lover by Victoria Embers was a good quick read. I thought it was a great twist on vampire and werewolf stories. Caroline, a werewolf, finds love for her vampire captor. I thought it was a good quick read.
OMG! I was yanked into this short story by Victoria Embers instantly. I loved it! It was shorter than I expected, but I think I'm saying that only because I so wanted to read more.
This was an ok read. I didn't care to much for the way the story started. I started reading it awhile back and just started reading it again to finish it. It didn't hook me.
