A fun loving story in rhythm and rhyme about a family of four and their moment in time. It's a balmy, summer Cape Cod day and this visiting family is savoring every moment. Experience the delight, the joy and exhilaration a mindful moment can bring!
Jennifer Butenas has written a lovely story that children of all ages will relate to. The message in this story focuses on small, special moments in the main character’s life and reminds us all to treasure our own. In addition, the illustrations in this story are beautifully presented. I would highly recommend this book to Elementary Teachers. Many literacy activities can be created based upon A Moment In Time.
Meh. What is there to say about a book about a common moment in time. They are nice. Everyone needs them. It requires no thought. There is no profound message. But the rhymes were cute and the rhythm was catchy. Not bad. Not great.
I was hoping given the "Moment in Time" title that this book would be a good mentor text for small moment writing. I think the sing song rhyming distracts from using the book in this way. Given that there's a birth announcement at the end, I imagine the author was picturing how everything might change with a new baby. This is a very subtle message for such a simple book. Cute picture, might be able to use it as a writing mentor if you lessen the impact of the rhyme.
This lovely picture book reminds us to enjoy our moments and to make sure and save them through photos. Sometimes the perfect moment is just an everyday one.
