College roommates Julia and Morgan are about as different as two friends could possibly be. . . Despite these differences, years of friendship have helped Julia and Morgan fore a bond that withstands a variety of frustrations. Then one night, Morgan deliberately lures Julia's boyfriend into a compromising situation that could have serious consequences for everyone involved, including a faraway missionary who hopes that Morgan is waiting for him. Each of them will be forced to grow in ways they never could have expected, learning an important lesson about situations -- and people -- who seem Too Good to Be True.
It is difficult to describe how bad this book is. It shook me to my core, especially when I found out there 3 copies left that are on sale. DO NOT READ!
I read this book probably about five years ago and decided I would read it again because I couldn't remember what it was about (I have a horrible memory with books). I enjoyed it, but it falls into my "typical reading type" which is LDS fiction. I felt like Julia, one of the main charecters was a little to over the top for me. She kind of reminds of myself I did like though that forgiveness was one of the main points, even though it seemed like it drug on and on. All in all I still enjoyed the book, just not one of my favorites :).
This book was ok. It took awhile to get into the story. If you weren't a mormon, or more particularly a mormon from Utah, you might think the author was smoking something while writing it LOL. The characters are extremely dramatized and that kinda bugged me a little bit. I never knew anyone so characteristically extreme. I did like the moral point that comes out near the end.
I really liked this book. Taunia is an amazing person and I feel priviledged to have a friend with such an incredible talent. This book is a fun LDS romance (but not too much) novel. I read it quickly and think that many parts of this story are easy to relate to. Knowing the author as a person really makes you appreciate the effort and characters within the story.
I picked this book up at the library in a whim and was pleasantly surprised how easily I was drawn into the plot. The characters were realistic. I approve of the ending, but it wasn't predictable, as it could have easily gone a different direction. Real issues of waiting for missionaries, occupation decisions, dating, marriage. ...
I tried to read this, I really did. I just couldn't get past the first chapter. I was having a hard time switching back and forth between narrators. I think maybe it's because I only like to read books written in first-person....where there is only ONE first-person.
