This is essentially a set-up and sex scene between an established couple, but the short format left me feeling as if I didn’t really know much about them. Skyy finds late Christmas eve a note in his car from his lover. He is to follow the instructions which leads to a bit of a scavenger hunt. This includes buying specific items, using a disposable camera to take sexy photos to be developed and a few other small things. When he finally gets to his lover’s parents home (they are away), they use his purchases and finds to have a hot sex scene involving food which seems to be a fetish of theirs.
I was wondering how they got together, what their relationship was. They mention a couple of years, Skyy is much smaller than his lover apparently and the first time they had sex was in his parents’ house, so I assume they aren’t that old, but they don’t live together. I just was hoping to find out more about them beyond the sex. Yes, it’s obvious they love each other and that it seems the lover is the leader, but Skyy is happy to indulge him, but it was all left a bit of a mystery. While I enjoy a hot sex scene as much as the next m/m reader, I really like to know the couple and I felt that was a little lacking here.
However the story is short, and the sex hot if you like some messy food play with your loving. They both seem like nice guys, Skyy maybe a bit crabby at the start, but he perks up with the quest he’s set upon by his lover. So if you’re in the mood for a little hot quickie, it’s the way to go, but you won’t really get much of a feel for the two men outside of their sex life.

Reading the blurb, I was immediately intrigued by this one because I’ve always liked a good scavenger hunt. Because this story is so short, the details of the hunt are very limited but what Skyy discovers during the little game was both funny and cute.
The book started off very promising because of this. I liked the fact that even though Skyy was very tired, he indulged in his lover’s whims and played along. I also found Jonathan’s notes to Skyy very amusing because of the mysteriousness surrounding the whole game.
While I enjoyed the beginning, though, it soon lost its appeal because after the first few pages, everything that happens in the story is sexually based. Whether it was discovering sex toys, taking naughty pictures or Skyy finding out what his Christmas present was, it had some type of sexual touch to that and in the mood I was in, I didn’t appreciate it. I was hoping for a deeper story than that but in the end, I really didn’t know anything about these two beyond their sexual appetites, which was slightly disappointing.
So, while this will surely appeal to others, it missed its mark on me. I started to struggle through it about half way and with such a short story, I feel like that shouldn’t have happened. Regardless, it is a sweet, kinky read that others will definitely enjoy.

How far would you go to make someone you love happy? In Skyy's case, in Merry Christmas? By Raven de Hart, I feel he went above and beyond the call of duty. His lover, Jonathan, leaves a note in his car that leads him on an erotic treasure hunt, which, hopefully will end in serious Christmas Delight.
Besides being fueled by the promise of an intriguing reward, it's clear that Skyy loves Jonathan very much, by the lengths he's willing to go to please him even though some of them are outside of his comfort level. Obviously Jonathan is worth the trouble and for Jonathan to go through the planning and coordination he goes through to plan and execute the entire adventure shows a lot of love and consideration on his part as well. The whole adventure is endearing and hilarious at times, but Skyy perseveres. His scavenger hunt culminates at Jonathan's house where an even hotter excursion into sexual decadence begins ending with both Jonathan and Skyy having a very sensual merry Christmas eve and an even merrier Christmas Day.
This is a very endearing, sensual Christmas story. I enjoyed reading it very much and I'd recommend it to anyone who would enjoy two men very much in love, expressing their feelings in a sizzling hot sexual liaison with a little kink on the side. Cute short story about a guy who has to follow a trail of clues to get to his Christmas present, a present that includes his boyfriend and his penchant for eating goodies, like an ice cream sundae, off of his abs. Very nice.
