Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

My 1 star is NOT because it's a bad book. It's for my sending it to my Mission Aborted folder. Here's why:

Once again, too much sex for sex's sake. I'm not interested enough in the characters to want to continue and also found it difficult to follow the dialog and the narrative. I had to keep re-reading to try and figure out who was speaking and who the narrative was referring to. I don't get this with other authors, just SM.

I thought this would be an adventure-romance but it's more erotica. Like SM's Jarheads, it starts off with casual sex and no setting up of the relationship. Trip and Bones fuck within half an hour of meeting, continue to fuck happily away and generally get on with each other. Trip's assignment ends (he's a merc on a job) and they go their separate ways. Two years later Trip meets up with Bones again and the first thing they do is...u got it.

I stopped there even though that's just the first three chapters. I'm in the mood for a relationship-based romance, something character-driven yet with suspense. Back to my Top Ten list to find something...

There is golden rule about such books. Plot kills the thing, but in case of this book, the plot would help a lot The jungles of South America are hot and full of animals, plants, drug dealers, Greenpeace people, mercenaries, medical personnel and predators of all mentioned kinds above. The names of main heroes are not important on the first 200 pages, what is important is that one is mercenary and one is tree hugging doctor with long braid, who is working local field hospital. It was hot between them, they did it in ten, outside ten, on rock, under rock, in pond, near pond, in bed, beside bed and when ever humanly possible. There was on dark cloud that the bounty appeared on doc head and fun started aka plot, but it was short and cut before getting more interesting, which was kind of pity, but you know porn is porn and plot is plot. Merc had dilemma sex or money... of course ...sex won and they went to the sun hand in hand.

This was not my fav of Sean Michael's books. Not even close. More porn than plot, something I usually don't mind if the plot line is strong. Wished there had been more depth to the MCs, both who are alpha males, the kind of guys I usually enjoy reading about. But there simply wasn't enough story to support the amount of sex on page. Did the guys have totally hot chemistry together? Absolutely. But I wanted more.

How do I put this? And I can't believe i'm actually about to say it of a Sean Michael novel, but a little less sex and a lot more plot would have made this a much more pleasant read. It only made me want to explore more of the actual relationship between Trip and Bones, rather than the constant screwing that not so far into the book made me forget it was a Sean Michael novel.
I liked the hot sex, although there was so much of it I actually found myself skipping over parts of it. At times you could see real moments of tenderness between Trip and Bones but I have to say it just wasn't up to the usual Sean Michael standard for me.

More sex than story - I skimmed over a few sex scenes as they got a bit too much even for a Sean Michael novel! (Seemed to be more than even his Jarheads series which is saying something!) A pity really, as the plot underneath the sex was worthy of being developed with greater depth.

Trip is a soldier for hire. Bones is a doctor for a lumbering company. When they meet in Bones's jungle camp, it's instant attraction. Although they are often separated for weeks and even months, they develop a strong relationship and love.

This book was sex, sex and sex again. Floods of semen filling the jungle lakes. Incredible steadfastness for both of the characters with at least two orgasms for each of them every time they were at it - and they were at it a lot. Except for the shagging, pretty little actually goes on in that book. In the end a completely implausible scheme against Bones creates a bit of mortal danger for Trip to save the life of his beloved man, and they have sex again.

So a book for everybody who can't get enough of "it". I was fed up at some point...

So much more could have been to done to develop the MCs into more complete characters. Yes they were hot, but I wanted more depth. I know they loved each other but I wanted more emotion and conversation that was not while having sex. The sex was good, but the story needed more. The plot had great possibilities and promise. I would have liked to see more story along with the hot sex. I liked these guys. I liked their commitment to each other and to their professions. The ending wrapped up too quickly. Again more story needed concerning the bad guys. Not Sean Michael's best. I hope he revisits it someday and writes the story he should have written. Not bad just not enough plot and character development.

This was a really long book. Or maybe it just felt really long. Despite what some people might think, you can have too much sex in a book. I know, I know, this is how Sean Micheal writes but usually there isn't that much of an interesting story under the sex. Er, that didn't come out right. Most of the stories don't have a whole lot going on outside of the sex? Eh, still not quite what I want to say, but closer. Basically what I am trying to say is there was a fairly cool story here that could have been really exciting & adventurous but it just went limp under the deluge of sex. *pouts*

THIS WAS SO AMAZING! the story keeps you wanting more. The men in this story are all rugged and independent with marshmellow centers. The action and suspense in the story coupled with the relationships and obvious love between the two main characters is what makes this such a great read. I would absolutely love to read this story over and over again.

Sean Michael books are often overviews of life, rather than a typical story with a specific point, but this is a deviation from that... there's more of a storyline in Tripwire, and it's done well. It still has the feel like the plot is basically centered around the character's sex lives, but there's an actual conflict and resolution.

holy hanna, I think this book had too much sex even for me (and that's really saying something) - how many different ways can you describe blow jobs and intercourse? ha ha. The story was actually really good and I loved the characters, and their relationship was very nicely done, but if you took out all the sex the book would have been about 15 pages long ;)

This book is not my favorite Sean Micheal’s book. This was porn without much of a plot. They are trying to find out who is trying to kill Bones and they have sex. The wind blows a different way and they have sex. It is a book that just was random scenes put together of sex and let add a bit of danger to our young lusty men.

I liked this book, but found myself impatient to get to the end. I think I need a break from this series. This had a creepy character with a hook, and he was a cruel psychopath. I found it disturbing, but I am not turned off of the series. Taking a break.
