Wherever You Are

Rate this book
The world knows what happens to British troops overseas. But the women that leave at home have challenges of their own, which nobody hears about. Until now.

This book contains 25 true accounts of life as a military wife. They tell of the loneliness and isolation of living on a military base, the difficulty of writing letters to men facing unimaginable horrors, and the overwhelming joy of seeing husbands and sons come home safe.

But these are no ordinary stories. the fortunes of these wives changed forever when they began singing together: not only did they find support, but their choir - the Military Wives Choir - captured the hearts of the nation.

This is the story of the wife's that married men in the Military and the Choir that there all started
You have a few pages on how they meet their husbands, so you get to know the ladies and what their lives where like before the choir
You than have where there all meet up and sing in the choir and the song Wherever you Are that there sang at The Remembrance Service at The Royal Albert Hall,
The last part of the book is what happened after there had sang the song and how their lives changed, plus the lives of other wife's who husbands is away
I did not have tears till I read Paula Mundy story, the shopping for black dresses and going on all the different TV shows, singing for the Queen, at number 10, and at the Queen Jubilee, how the cd's went to number 1

Actually I was a bit disappointed with this book. It's so repetitious! A group of women tell what it was like before joining the choir, and the marvellous concerts and events where they sang. The problem was that I kept thinking, I've already read that three times!, and so was skipping chunks - which isn't like me!
However, I was still glad I'd read it. It gives a very clear indication of just how awful it is to be a Military Wife.

Very repetitive! Lovely idea behind it all but feel the book could have been better written.
