It was a small Wyoming town, sleeping uneasily in the memory of a time when its people went mad with ruthless vengeance. Now once a year its streets open up to strangers, and its past crime is drowned in the drink and noise of reckless celebration. Into this annual madness rides Edge!

Another double-barreled story in the series. By that I mean two tales in one book. The first tells of Edge's days in the Civil War. The other is his present adventures.
The Civil War story has Edge and his men under him bring a decoy shipment into a town only to be attacked by Confederates and then asked to kill Jefferson Davis no less. The present story has Edge tracking down stolen gambling money. His.
More violence than you can shake a stick at. The scene where Edge and his men pretend to be actors in a southern theater is pretty good. Those are not stage props. The crowd finds out the hard way.
Another fun book in this series. For one of the Civil War flashback stories, it's more evenly split between his current time and the flashback. Which helps since I like the non flashback ones better. He bets on a boxing match and wins, but the promoters money was stolen before he got his, so he goes after his money. A name causes him to flashback to when he was given a mission in the war to kill Jefferson Davis.
Highly recommended for fans of the series, full of the normal bad puns thar are normal for the series by the point. Edge is always a fun character.
Edge a new town, a new sheriff getting in his way will find his wrist fractured, blood dripping on his highly polished boots. Edge will bet on a boxing match and see his winning stolen. Edge is pissed as always and hunts down the bandits after killing 2 of them sits down and calmly drinks their coffee and will get some money back and will make the rest into a loan. More flashbacks of the war , Edge and his man transporting 2 million in gold but its actually filled with lead. They will come in contact with the enemy and a blast will see entrails, limbs, heads sailing through the air. I'm sorry to say this is my least favourite out of the first 12 books.
A quick read, but the ending was very weak. It just sort of trailed off. What made it worse was that it was two entwinned stories, one set in the west and one set during the Civil War. The author switched back and forth between the two, and both had very open ended closures. Still, an easy read and not bad in general.
