I found this book already on my bookshelf. It had belonged to my mother-in-law. She passed away several years ago.

It is a book filled with hope and reassurance through prayer. The author leads one through an in depth look at 15 Psalms and how they can be inspirational to those suffering illness. He speaks of finding purpose in life even when faced with uncertainty.

I was familiar with most of the Psalms, but not with Psalm 71 which speaks of growing old. (Chapter 12: To Forge Health and Healing as We Age.) I enjoyed the author’s perspective on this subject and of course, could relate. ;-)

I would recommend this book to anyone struggling with illness or caretakers providing support to those who are ill.

Written by a rabbi, this discussion of Psalms, and specific ones helpful for healing, was informative and full of wisdom. As the book points out, this book from the Bible is a source of strength for Jews and Christians alike, and he discusses several of my personal favorite verses.
