This was the book we bought for our first-born when we were expecting our second, to explain what to expect with a new baby. It starts with "the baby's born" and, through sweet verse and gorgeous pictures, goes through the milestones of the first year, ending with "the baby dances" (with her older brother). It was always a great opener to the "we're having a baby!" discussions (that continued the whole 9 months). :)
The Baby Dances is a about the beginning changes of an infant. It starts off with a baby being born, then learning to roll over and ends with the baby dancing in her brother's arms. This picture book would make a story for a parent to read to a child or a teacher to read to a class. The illustrations have great detail and really bring the story to life.
My favorite baby book. Beautiful illustrations, beautiful language. I only regret I didn't purchase this book for our personal library before it went out of print! Lovely book.
