Story: FAIRLY GOOD
Intimacy Level: Sex-citingly GOOD + SPICY & DARK
Enjoyment: GOOD
Length: 1112 kindle
Style: Dark BDSM Erotica
Series: The Devil's Kiss#2

My emotions and thoughts in the order I felt as I read Enslaved:

1.Same tempo, no change (from book #1).
2.ok.
3.I'm warming up.
4.Mmmm.....Interesting.
5.Wow.
6.Shocked.

I would advise readers to read book 1 Ultimatum before Enslaved for a better understanding of the characters and the plot unfolding. My thoughts on certain things in Enslaved has changed since Ultimatum. Don't get me wrong, I liked Enslaved, but if I had my choice, I would tell the reader skip the beginning and read the end towards title chapter Four's a Crowd.I seriously wasn't expecting that scene and thought, wow, Gage can you get any lower .

In Ultimatum, Gage was a question mark for me and in Enslaved, still a question mark, but with more insight. When you think he is beginning to let his guard down and dare I say seemed a bit softer, here comes the wall, his exterior and interior that are hard to understand, plus new information that is a game changer for the plot. Kayla, still enjoyed her character not so much her situation, but that's what makes this plot interesting to me. She is conflicted on how she feels towards Gage and the acts in which she performs for him. Nothing has changed for her as her daughter's health is the driving force of her actions. Ian, I am conflicted with his character. In Ultimatum, I was a bit excited because though his introduction to us was brief, I had an idea what the author was doing introducing us to him. However, I.......don't know how I feel towards him right now, it's like he's here but not really here. I am at a point where I like the relationship building between Gage and Kayla (complicated but good to read) and compared to Gage, Ian seems soft to me and out of place, although he is more involved towards the end. I am all for past love reuniting but not this time. I have grown attached to Gage, and in a warped kind of way, what turns me on to him is the appeal of still not knowing if he is good or bad or the intentions he has towards Kayla knowing what I know now as the plot becomes crowded with more bodies and lies.

I enjoyed the story, but for me, the beginning was ok nothing new. But as the story progressed it definitely wets your appetite on what's going on sexually and watching the plot unfolds. The story picks up from Ultimatum, after Gage and Kayla's weekend encounter. After finishing Enslaved, my conclusion, this blackmail got a whole..... lot more complicated and I would definitely be reading Retribution book#3 for the conclusion of this story.

To the readers, a heads up, as I stated before in book one, some may or may not view this story as dark and disturbing.

Do we really get to choose the ending of book 3? (online poll)
It's got to be Ian if we can! Love a HEA!

There's something about these books that hooked me even though they're a little bit far-fetched (Gage is evil and mostly I want to hurt him!)

...Book 3, if you were out I'd read you now!

Gage Channing is a Bastard. Lets say that again: Gage Channing is a Bastard!!!!!
By turns he's obnoxious, arrogant, controlling, spiteful, violent, jealous, selfish, generally a multi-faceted Asshole of the worst kind. He doesn't just use women and dump them, no he chooses to humiliate them.
We aren't told why and, from what we see, I choose not to care. I can see no redeeming features, can I??? Ok so he's very rich, we aren't told how he got there, whether he had family money to begin with or whether its all self made? Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you sex; the more so when it's an oblique and indirect transaction, and funding 3rd party medical bills for our girl's sick daughter is about as oblique as it gets.
He's got Kayla craving his ministrations; he sure does know how to press the buttons, but she doesn't love him, someone else already holds her heart. In that, this is a fundamental difference to what were used to, and the lovers are due to pay a heavy price.

There's a mountain of character development in this short novella, and that's welcome too. Also, as the second book in a trilogy,
It's not just a space filler. We are, however, left with a mighty cliffhanger.
The Smuttertainment value is fairly high but, unusually for me, I have to say there are more important factors driving this story.

Ok Gemma, you've ratcheted me up to a solid 4 Stars for this one: Jesus Christ it's going to be a long, long wait for book 3.

It really feels like Gemma James is getting into her stride with this one. For a novelette this is really very good. In short stories there’s often not enough time to properly tell the story or develop the characters but that’s not the case here.

I feel like we’re really getting to know Kayla well. Her daughter’s new treatment still isn’t working and her only hope now is one last final and very expensive trial and she throws herself at Gage’s feet for his help. He agrees to help but she must agree to fully submit to him and to give up her safeword. Now Gage can do whatever he likes to Kayla and she will submit and accept – her daughter’s life depends on it. And he really does unleash the sadist within.

Taking away the safeword is a cardinal sin in the BDSM world and it really makes me doubt Gage’s motivations and sanity as a dominant. He’s cruel and possessive and any perceived minor misdemeanour by Kayla is met with much more severe punishment than the poor girl deserves. Her despair is absolutely palpable – after a difficult life, her fear for her daughter’s life and her helplessness is the driving force behind her actions and she will accept anything that Gage throws at her just for a small chance at saving her.

There’s far more afoot here than we could possibly have realised after reading Ultimatum and things are not as clear-cut as we once thought. Gage almost showed a kinder, gentler side to himself in this one but it was a momentary glimpse and his anger towards the end at something beyond Kayla’s control pushes him over the edge and strips away any humanity we’d seen before as his anger consumes him and he takes things much too far.

We’re left with everything up in the air at the end of this one – nothing is as it seems and I can’t wait for Retribution, the final instalment in this fascinating trilogy, to give us all the answers.

***3-annoying-bastard--but-panty-wet-stars***

This second book is about how Kayla "learn" to submit to her Master.

About how she must adjust her live to obey Gage rules and consequences for not doing things according to his command....

Kayla must endure each punishment Gage gave her for Eve medical treatment fee Gage promised to her....

And when Kayla's "ghost from the past" comeback to her life.....

What will Kayla do ?
Betrayed her Master ?
Or.....??

===oOo===

The story getting more interesting....

Gage no doubt is a "sadistic devil"....an asshole....a bastard....but dunno why....sometimes what Gage did really turned me on :P

I found some scene looks familiar with Fifty Shades....
Rememmber the famous "Silver Balls" scene from Fifty Shades ?
When Grey want Ana to wear those balls when they attended a party ?
Ah.....I bet you remember those scene, right ? *grinning*

Well, Gage forced Kayla to wear - not those silver ball of course, but.... - when they attended company party....and push the "on" button at some time.... *grinning wickedly*

Overall....this story still interesting enough to read, and I enjoy reading it.... ;)

Can't wait for what happen next....!!

Kayla's submission continues in part two of the story. But Gage wants her to give herself to him fully. With Ian entering the picture things get a little complicated as Kayla's requirement to give her master complete honesty brings a new side out in him. A side that wipes away Kayla's idea of just who Gage really is.

These types of stories completely screw with my head. It is dark - and I should not reasonably like it at all...but just as Kayla's body betrays her mind - I find that I am so drawn in to the story. Gage is horrible, there is barely any signs of him not being a heartless SOB but part of me is hoping that there is just something that is driving a good man to be this bad. I am hooked and although part three looks like things can get really bad before they turn good, I am hoping there is some glimpse into Gage that at least shows that he is not just this horrible man. My own sanity needs him to have redeeming quality.

So I was hoping Gage's softer side would come out but Nope I think he is more of a douchebag! I think that Gage really has feelings for Kayla but he just can't show them. His rules don't apply to him when it comes to another co-worker. Kayla's first true love comes back into her life as as hard as she tries to push him out it backfires and he must face Gage's wrath. What Gage did was unspeakable I never saw that coming. He just notched up his douchebag level another notch. I can honestly say I haven't read a series quit like this - Usually there's underling love but I don't think that what Gage has done to Kayla that that could ever happen. Can't wait for the next book!

Wow. the twists and turns for such a short book are crazy and it doesn't seem to take away from the story itself. I just can't get over how much has happened in a short amount of time. but yet still seems to add to the story.

Enslaved picks up where Ultimatum ended, Kayla is in a mess, forced to submit to her boss or face jailtime. Now a complication enters the picture, her old love, and that is not something Gage is in favor of.
Smutty smexin, BDSM, forced voyeurism and i can´t wait for the third part.

I slid my hand into his, and in that moment -- a moment I instinctively recognized as a pivotal one -- I knew I'd succumbed.

Just when I thought I couldn't hate Gage Channing anymore, I find that he is even more of a sick, sadistic s.o.b. in Enslaved. I have read many dark erotica before, and Enslaved is one of the darkest. This book is not for the faint of heart, and the note to readers should be taken seriously. With that said, I loved it! Enslaved became my master and I became its submissive until the last page, when this succubus finally gave me freedom from the angst that had gripped me with its sharp talons.

Gage Channing of Channing Enterprises continues his torturous ways with Kayla Sutton, his employee. Although previously confined to the privacy of his home, his harsh punishments to Kayla are now unleashed in the workplace behind a locked door. Gage Channing must be Lucifer, himself, in human form. My mind cannot fathom a human man being this evil and cruel. What he has done to Kayla is beyond repulsive. Gage is a master at cruelty more than a dominant sex partner. I have never hated a hero before, but Gage Channing -- no matter how handsome and affluent -- is no hero. He is the ultimate anti-hero. I am truly slapping myself for almost falling for his hidden charm that was starting to surface. Almost. I just knew I would find some redeeming quality in the man who had been so sadistically cruel toward a woman in Kayla's fragile state. No, there is nothing redeeming about Gage. He is the spawn of Satan. However....and that is a BIG however....there is a hidden reason for Gage's behavior and harsh punishments toward Kayla.

Just when I thought his cruelty couldn't get any worse, BAM! He takes everything I've ever believed and hoped about "bad boys being warm and fuzzy underneath" and stomps it into the ground. You may think you can imagine the most torturous treatment of another human being, but you would be wrong. Never did I dream that this sick s.o.b. could be so cruel. He has power over the fate of a child...a sick toddler at death's door...and he abuses that power for the most evil plot. He abuses his power once again to intentionally hurt Kayla and an innocent Ian, who made the mistake of embracing her. Nothing more, just a simple embrace. Yet, both Ian and Kayla pay the price for that mistake....as could Eve, Kayla's three-year old daughter with leukemia. Generally speaking, when someone loses his/her temper, we know what to expect, as did Kayla when Gage would explode. But that one time....just once...Gage didn't explode when he had every reason to do so.
Gage's cool demeanor was more terrifying than his rage. I wanted to turn and bolt for the door, but entertaining the notion of escape was an impossible temptation I couldn't succumb to.

Kayla Sutton is a survivor, a mother, a friend....a submissive. She is not a submissive of her own choosing. She has been coerced into voluntary slavery after embezzling funds to cover medical treatment to save her dying daughter, Eve.
I'd stolen from the devil himself in order to save her, and now I was paying the ultimate price...

I kept asking myself throughout Ultimatum (book #1 in The Devil's Kiss Trilogy) and Enslaved how could one woman carry so much emotional baggage, stress, and abuse and still go on living? A lesser woman would have broken a long time ago, but Kayla is a mother. She's a mother who will do anything to save her child. Kayla doesn't relish her time with Gage. He doesn't take care of her. He doesn't shower her with gifts. He is nothing but cruel to her, but he is providing medical treatment for her daughter, and that is all that matters to Kayla. That alone gives her the strength to endure. But Kayla starts to see something in Gage's eyes. There's a glint in them that indicates he isn't as heartless as he seems, and she hasn't experienced a level of sensuality in years that she experiences with Gage. His final goal is for Kayla to stay with him at the end of their contract. She wants her freedom but is conflicted. Part of her hates Gage with more passion that she can muster for what he has done to her, and the other part of her wants Gage for how he makes her feel sexually.
Gage had enslaved me, and by doing so he also freed me on some level.

I didn't get much Ian in the first book, Ultimatum, but I got a better picture of Ian in Enslaved....and I fell for him. I love Ian and how he deeply cares for Kayla, even after she threw him aside seven years prior. Ian and Kayla were friends and lovers in college, until she found herself in a predicament with her now ex-husband, Rick. This couple hadn't seen each other in seven years, until Ian came back into Kayla's life as a doctor at the hospital where Eve receives her care. Both Kayla and Ian still have strong feelings for each other, but only Kayla knows that nothing can come of them, or she will pay the ultimate price. When everything in Kayla's life is already spiraling out of control, and the stress is almost more than she can stand, Ian would be her go-to person....the one whose shoulder she can lean and cry on. But that would be the cardinal sin against Gage, her master. She isn't even allowed to talk to another man, much less seek emotional support from one. Unfortunately, Ian doesn't give up that easily when Kayla tells him to stay away from her, and they both pay the price for his persistence. That price is beyond cruel and both Kayla and Ian suffer severely.

To say that I enjoyed Enslaved by Gemma James is an understatement. No, I don't get my kicks from reading of cruel punishments to innocent and kind people, but I do love reading a well written book that captivates and keeps my attention and guides my emotions. That is what Enslaved has done. From shock to my own psychological fallacy to angst, this book has sucked me into its pages with vengeance. I do recommend that Ultimatum and Enslaved be read in order, as they are meant to be. This is a very fast read at only 19,000 words but has the feel of a full-blown novel from beginning to end, and there is a HUGE twist at the end! I recommend this to the mentally strong who can handle a severely dark erotica read. I may be going into therapy after reading this series, but you can bet I won't be going until after I read the next installment, Retribution. ;) Kudos to Gemma James for taking me through the bowels of Hell with a well-written novella that has me anxiously waiting for more of Kayla's story.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of Enslaved in exchange for an honest review.

What. the.ever.living.fuck.

Full book one review:

I’m....conflicted. At 52% I thought he was irredeemable, but then I changed my mind again. That spot was tough. Really fucked up, and gets more fucked up later in the book when more is revealed.

So many times I questioned my morals, and if a book makes me do that, no matter the content, I’ll love it.

My Rant: What an emotional ride. In the beginning I completely hated Gage. I mean how he could force Kayla to exploit herself just to save her daughter. But during some of their erotic session Kayla is learning a lot about herself.

Kayla: I’d stolen from the devil himself in order to save her and now I was paying the ultimate price: six weeks of forced slavery of the most vile variety.
The fact that a part of me enjoyed it only compounded the problem.
Kayla thoughts become twisted, completely twisted. She begins to turn more into the slave that Gage wants her to be. You can see the struggle within her to come to terms that she actual loves and hates what Gage was doing to her.

But how could she not seem to fall for Gage. He seems to be showing a little more emotion to Kayla and in this process he is molding her. I feel that deep down inside he is building some type of sincerity toward her but every time I think there is hope for him, something comes up that completely stirs up my emotions to hate him again. In my heart I want Gage to be a good guy because I do like some of his bad boy ways and Kayla does too she just couldn’t quite admit that to herself.

I tortured myself with the vivid memory of his sculpted body moving against mine, demanding submission, and his whip lancing my bare skin in unforgiving blows. Worse was how he’d forced me to pleasure…….how even now I craved it.
All the signs are there. Kayla has been denying the reality to herself to long. You experience a rush of emotions because deep down inside you want to make this work. You begin to feel compelled that maybe there is something positive that is going to come out of this horrible situation. So many things are going on at this point and the author is taking you on a roller coaster ride that leaves you breathless and wondering.

Gage begins to alter Kayla contract. He makes her give up her way out and her freedom but what was astonishing to me is that Kayla didn’t realize that she offered herself more degradation when she told he she would do whatever he wanted as long as he kept paying Eve’s bills. She had not only signed over her soul to the devil, she also signed over her right to claim it back. How sadistic is that and just like the devil he was gage capitalized on the pressing opportunity.
What was also shocking to me how enraged Gage was when he found out that Ian was in the picture and how deep Kayla feeling was for him. I mean you really get to see how menacing Gage could be especially when he is threatened by Ian.

“Tell him who you belong to”, Gage demanded, and when I didn’t answer, he yanked me back by my hair.
Kayla: I belong to you, Master. Ian: You’re not a fucking possession! “Get up Kayla I am taking you home.”

What a showdown this was. At this point your on edge because thing get worse and there are no indications that is going to get better any time soon.
The author keeps you engaged in this story because the plot completely changes. You think you know how the story is going to play out but you don’t. All the male characters in the plot seem to have a secret agenda. And there is an explosion of information at the end that would make your head swim with thoughts. The erotic scenes were just so freaking hot and the action was so on point that your blood is racing.

My recommendation:
The sequel was just as good as the first book. I gave Enslaved 5 out of 5 purple rant hearts. I loved the pace of the book and how the story is beginning to unfold. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the third book because I need to know how this story is going to play out. I would recommend this book to anyone one who loves dark erotica with a hint of suspense.

"Clever as the Devil and twice as pretty." - Holly Black, White Cat

Gage Channing's good looks certainly makes his devilish behavior easier to swallow.

ENSLAVED in THE DEVIL'S KISS trilogy will light you on fire! I'm still not sure if it is from the searing pain his sadistic side relishes in dishing out or the scorching hot lovin' he was so obviously born to engage in.

Gage Channing is the Devil, but don't forget that the Devil was once an angel. I'm not convinced that this devil doesn't have some goodness beneath all that darkness. At least that is what I keep telling myself since I was really crushing on the jerk in a totally fucked up kind of way, because short and simple, the dude is a complete lunatic. He is charming and cruel, sexy and sadistic and totally hell-bent on owning Kayla.

Kayla Sutton is being forced to deal with any parent's worst nightmare; a sick child. I am not talking about a 24-hour stomach bug here, I am talking serious business, her life is on the line kind of illness. How far would you go to save the life of your child? Would you lie, cheat and steal? That's kind of what Kayla does and once her debauchery is discovered, she finds herself between a rock and a hard place (that might be a smidge of an understatement). Kayla's life is forever changed when she forces every defiant bone in her body to submit to the Devil in order to save her daughter's life and to save herself from prosecution.

THE DEVIL'S KISS trilogy was presented to me in one delicious package, but it originated as three separate novellas - ULTIMATUM, ENSLAVED and RETRIBUTION. I might have had to hunt down and kill author Gemma James if had been forced to read this trilogy separately - no way! Lucky for you guys, all 3 installments are out and you don't have to wait! I HAD to know what was going to happen next. In ULTIMATUM, she was caught and forced to choose between jail time or sᴇx slave (did I mention that Gage was panty-droppin' hot? So, not much of a hardship there... or so I thought...). In ENSLAVED Kayla found out exactly what it meant to be Gage's slave and let me tell you, it wasn't always pretty, but the sick side of my brain still found it hot!!

On to the final installment...

This is the second in the series, and picks up right at the first ends, while it teaches Kayla what it means to be enslaved to Gage, and how he wishes to have his submissive behave.

In this installment, Gage is still keeping Kayla very much off-balance: displaying an almost courtly attitude then with the flip of a switch he becomes demanding, aggressive and punishing. This portrayal and Kayla’s reluctant but ultimately relenting submission to his questions and demands are starting to take their toll on her. While his appreciation of what she has to offer: her brains, beauty and sex appeal are characteristics that he clearly expresses to her, the need to control and manage every facet of her life is getting old and Kayla is at a breaking point. When an old flame appears despite her attempts to fob him off and make him disappear until the end of her contract with Gage fails, the repercussions are brutal: hard to endure and read.

Strangely enough, both characters are developing and Gage is starting to show cracks in his icy control, his appreciation for and attachment to Kayla is starting to show in his less “guarded” moments, although Kayla’s reactions are so conflicted between her shame at the acts and her physical reactions that she isn’t seeing those breaks clearly. It will be interesting to see if Gage lets go enough for Kayla to recognize these feelings he has.

Certainly not a book for everyone – the scenes are often harsh and punishing, but reactions are detailed with a sense of sensuality and expression that will pique interest. While I don’t necessarily agree that a Master/slave relationship is one that works with coercion or without solid knowledge of the rules from both parties, the author has portrayed this scenario as one that is possible, if not desirable, for readers.
This does continue the story line from the first book, and does contain several scenes that are suitable ONLY for 18+ readers and those aware of, or comfortable with detailed and dark examples of BDSM and the Master / Submissive relationship.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

In Ultimatum book one of The Devil's Kiss Kayla Sutton stole money from her boss. Her boss Cage caught her and gave her an Ultimatum she becomes his slave and he her master or he calls the police. Well guess what Kayla chose? To become his slave. Why did she steal this money? To save her daughter's life. Her daughter Eve has a life threatening disease. Cage drew up a contract for Kayla to sign. In the contract Kayla gave up her weekends for Cage she was to spend them at his house.

Kayla was thinking ok maybe this won't be that bad and she will have the money to pay for her daughter's hospital stay and treatment. But she was in for a big surprise with what he expected her to do. Of course the contract stated what she would have to do but Kayla was kind of naive in this department. Yes she understood that she was to spend the weekends at his home but he had other things in mind. What other things? Well for instance he told her what to wear and what to eat. He also forbids her to speak to any man. Ok so he gave her a choice she could void the contract anytime she wanted but if she did that could mean her daughter's life.

Kayla runs into an old friend an old friend that she dated in college at the hospital. Kayla is still in love with this old friend Ian but she is not allowed to even speak to him or her master Cage will punish her. But Kayla can't tell Ian any of this but she has to put him off hoping that he will wait for her until the end of her contract with Cage is over. But Ian doesn't give up so easily. But there is one good thing about the fact that Ian is now working at the same hospital is that Kayla has Ian to watch over Eve on the weekends when she can't be there for her.

Although Enslave may have dark erotic sex in it, it is still a good story that protrays what most mother's would do and how far they would go to save their child's life. Enslave is more for the 18+ audience. I do recommend that you read Ultimatum book one before Enslave book two otherwise you will probably have a hard time figuring out what is happening.

Bintang 5.
Buku 2/3 The Devil's Kiss.

"I can't be who you want me to be. I'll pretend for Eve's sake, and I'll do whatever I have to in the meantime, but it'll be a lie. As soon as six week are up, I'll walk".

Good Lord in Heaven! *fans self* Enslaved, the second installment in Gemma James’ The Devil’s Kiss Series is all kinds of sizzling hotttt! Make sure your air conditioner is on full blast when you start reading this book!

In Enslaved, Kayla’s daughter is on the mend, responding to the new treatments submitting to Gage now affords Kayla. But things have heated up between Kayla and her Master, and she must submit to him whenever/wherever he pleases. Her coworkers are talking behind her back and when Gage invites her to a party, Kayla is shocked to see what lengths Gage will go to make her see how she truly belongs to him – especially now that he’s made her give up saying her safe word.

By the way, do you remember what I told you in the last review about Kayla’s ex, Ian? *jumps around insanely* I told you there was something coming up with him and in Enslaved, Ian doesn’t take no for an answer, shamelessly pursuing Kayla with an avid fervor. But that’s not all – Kayla can’t help but respond to Ian, remembering everything she used to feel for him.

Confused by her feelings for Ian and what she has with Gage, Kayla feels overwhelmed. Then, her world spins around when Gage tells her he knows what she’s been doing with Ian! *faints*

You won’t believe what Kayla has to do to earn Gage’s forgiveness and the huge twist at the end that will have you reeling! Drop whatever you’re reading and run to get this book! It’s a definite must read.

Enslaved features:

BDSM
oral sex
non-consensual sex
backdoor play
forced voyeurism
forced exhibitionism
whipping
torture

This one was great! I loved it!

Kayla is now deep in training in Enslaved. She still doesn't get everything right, but she does try. The rules portion is very 50 shades reminiscent, but Gage's rules are much more hard and fast, with no room for negotiation. Gage is such a chauvinist pig and I don't envision liking him anytime soon.

douchebag

I thought Gage was such an insensitive, emotionless bastard. He deserves retribution of the highest order! Taking advantage of a woman in need....never mind that she's stolen from you. There were other ways to go about this. But he's too much of an opportunistic asshole to consider any other way. God, I hate him.

A new addition (even though he was mentioned in the first book) is Ian. Without only a mention of his green eyes, I can tell Ian's fine.

green eyes

I love him already because he is so protective of Kayla.

I can't wait to see how Kayla & Ian stick it to him in Retribution. I hope they make him pay dearly for all he's done.

And with that.....I'm on to the next one!

I just finished Enslaved and it was good. This is the 2nd in the Devil's Kiss Series and you cannot read this without the other. As you know Kayla stole money from her boss Gabe and instead of going to jail, she has agreed to be his sex slave for 6 weeks. She has to follow everything to a T or she will be punished. This is following her first week with him and she hates what she has to do but she does it to save her daughter Eve. What we find out in more detail is that Ian (college love) is back and wants her. What does she do? Does she stay with Gabe to save her daughter or does she go back to Ian? You will have to see.

Wow, this one got me. It did exactly what the title is. I was enslaved by this book. I didn't want to put it down and there was a turn of events that I hadn't been expecting that I was shocked at. I can say that Gabe for me has grown a little bit on me. In the beginning I wasn't feeling him but he has two side. Grant it, I love the good side but a part of me wants to be on his bad side! Kayla, I get what she has to do but she is playing fire and someone will get burned. I like Ian, I just feel like what is coming up is going to change the whole game with all of them. Im excited though, I cannot wait to see what happens.

Enslaved review
If Ultimatum felt like a paper-cut, Enslaved was like a deep cut. So much more intense.

The sex was hotter, the BDSM was crueller, and so was Kayla’s feelings for her boss and Master, Gage. Her daughter, Eve received a large lump of money to help with cancer treatment in book one, but now comes a huge deal. There’s a new treatment available with extreme benefits to combat her cancer and give her a strong chance to live, but it’s a huge sum to pay.

Kayla has no choice. She goes right back into Gage’s torture dungeon (seems that way) and submits herself to his wicked ways. Meanwhile, when she’s out in the world afterwards, she keeps running into her ex, Ian, so she still loves.

This book is hot and capturing to read, and also a bit longer than Ultimatum, but it’s the huge twist at the end that had me choking on my breath and trying to tap away at my Kindle pages faster to devour every word until the end to find out what happened.

Enslaved is a huge step up from book one. It satisfied me and then knocked me off my feet in a good way and had me shouting at my lungs over social media for my friends to buy it.

Ooohhh... This was so exciting! I have to say that this was definitely so much better than the first one. I now got to understand why Kayla did what she did and part of her past is revealed too.
I also got to find out what role Ian plays in Kayla's life. I'm curious about Rick, though, now. We gather what his role is in Ultimatum, and Enslaved enravels a shocking discovery, so I hope Retribution will answer all the questions the first two books left me with.
I guess that the most important role, here, is played by Gage, even though I still have to wrap my mind around him (yes, mind! I know what you're all thinking, naughty readers!). He is a very cruel Master, more than I've ever read in other books, so I'm not sure I like him... yet. Only Retribution will tell...
Ms James has done a great job, and an author who drops a bomb at the end of their book and leaves me completely at their mercy wanting more, has all my appreciation and respect. AMAZING!

It had been a while since I read book 1 so jumping into book 2 was an eye opener. I really don't know how I feel about this series. I like aspects of it (pushing Kayla's boundaries, Gage's honesty about how much he wants to hurt her) but her previous abuse leaves me a little leery of believing how much she can take without breaking. While I do think the drive to save her daughter would push her to take A LOT, at what point does the mind just throw in the towel and say "Nope. Done now. All done."?

I will say I'm very curious to see how the revelations at the end play out in book 3. THINGS HAPPENED. Big things. So, the sex is appropriately naughty and it's well written. Which I appreciate.

I my god, if the first book of this series I wasn’t to excited about it, this second novel was the best.
I never thought this is gonna that way. When you read a book you think that you know about the ending and how the action goes. But this one surprised me the most. I thought the ending, I thought that nothing is gonna to surprised me, I thought that I know already Gage, but I was wrong.
I was shock in both ways. I didn’t thing that Gage it’s capable of love and compassion. And never thing that it’s capable of suck cruelty. I didn’t understand way he to that on Kayla. Why he humiliated her so much. Hope I found out in the next novel.

I love and hate this book. Like the theme of this series pain and pleasure. You know when is a good book when you can feel the feelings that the author puts in it.

It is a perfect series. Hope you read it to and like as much as me. :)

I am totally bewildered with Enslaved. I know I've given it five stars, but I am still perplexed as I am writing this review. I totally fell for Gage even with all of his wickedness and manipulations. But seeing him in Enslaved has me feeling like I've had him so wrong all along, but I am still fighting with myself in trying to see that there has to be some good in him. I feel just like Kayla after the Christmas party after reading this.

Yet, I still loved reading every word, every page. Gage still captivated me and still sent me on overdrive with his possessiveness, his jealousy and his ability to maintain all of his control. Oh, I am so inflicted by him and I want more. This story is so intense and I can't wait until Retribution!

With this one, I felt the story gave in a little more which i needed to felt for it yet not enough. I know its a novella and because of limited development in the story and character, one might not instantly like this (plus with the dark edge twisted way of Gage over Kayla will certainly wont be a fond for a light heart person) but the author had written it well enough to capture me into reading in throughout. By the end of it, I could made sense out of the character. Its morally wrong to what Gage done to Kayla, messing her mind and others twisted ways hes trying to get her to submit but i understand why. Whereas Kayla is someone strong inside out after what she have gone through that i cant help to feel for her. Overall I like this reading better than first.

I can't begin to describe this book. My emotions while reading it were on a roller coaster. Just as the reader begins to think that Gage is a good guy he pulls the rug out from under you and oh my gosh what he does.... If I were Kayla I would possibly entertain the thought of murdering him and his little helper.
I'll admit I hated the ending and am tempted to give this book 0 stars but if the author could make me go through so many emotions this quickly it deserves a better rating. I am planning on reading the third book and hoping that Gage and his little helper again get what's coming to them. Like Kayla said "I think it's time that he gets a little of his medicine."

NOTE: I'm reviewing all three of The Devil's Kiss books together as they are considered to be one complete story, similar to a TV mini-series.

When presented with the unquestionable, Kayla has to make a dark and twisted decision that leads her into even darker realizations. These novellas are not for the sensitive-hearted. While they were jam-packed with story and mystery, there was a lot to be assumed with little foreshadowing. Being that they are novellas, not much can be fit into the books, but by the end of the series, so much is fit in that some of the connections with the characters is lost. Overall, I was left liking what I read, even though I hated Gage.
