I only read Kristen Dombek's "How to Quit." It was a difficult read for me. Its a woven story with one strand about her life in a cocoon of addiction and the other strand is about her physical home which is being transformed into high-priced condos. She writes it like she's high, her attention dodging here and then there, and then some bright points of karmic wisdom. Its lovely and insightful, then its dark and incomprehensible. I felt like I was looking at a piece of abstract artwork that gave everyone a transformative experience but I just saw some pretty colors.

Worth it just for Kristin Dombek's "How to Quit" and the review of Behind the Beautiful Forevers.
